We bought a take and bake frozen raspberry pie for the next time we have guests over. Mom also got a brownie, which she said was very good as well. The wide selection of pre made salads and sandwiches looked great as well as the large selection of take and bake meals and side dishes. This is my favorite type of a local gem to discover. It's a perfect spot to stop on the way to or from Lake Placid. I actually visited twice in the same day! It's open Friday-Monday (as of when I visited in November'23). This was very disappointing because the treats we had in the store were delicious. If the review was based only on the pie, I'd be a 1/5 stars.

They hand trim all the gristle out, so it always tastes great, and it is reasonably priced. I am on the Paleo Diet, and their ground sirloin is super lean and has a great flavor and I eat a ton of it and am never disappointed. They get all sorts of other things in from time to time, as well, including corned beef and country hams depending on the time of the year. They also have all sorts of steaks, pork products, and chicken--and can special order you pretty much everything. Tom and Tess are also fun to talk to, and are generous and good-natured. This is the best place to get meat around, don't even bother with the supermarket--that stuff is garbage compared to what you can get here. They take EBT and cash, and I think checks once they get to know you, but no credit cards. They're located in a tiny garage on a side road (Second Street) in downtown Fair Haven, but are only a couple of minutes off of Route 4. Check them out--you will not be disappointed!
