This company is just fine unless you have a problem.
Our event was planned and went off without a hitch. The bounce house, table, and chairs all arrived early and in good condition. We were very pleased overall.
Until two days later when we realized the area of our lawn had died where VFJ had laid down some kind of tarp next to the bounce house. The area of the lawn where the actual bounce house was set up (under which there was also a tarp) was fine. It was just the area adjacent to the bounce house, where they had laid down a different tarp, that had died.
We called VFJ to voice our concerns and were simply told there was nothing they could do. They were not sympathetic, understanding, validating, or anything other than defensive and quick to get off the phone.
I understand that this is the risk we take when we put a bounce house on our lawn. However, we have had other bounce houses on the same lawn without incident (and in point of fact, the bounce house itself was not the problem).
At the very least, they should have valued their reputation enough to at least come look at the problem and/or could have offered some kind of reduction of the cost for the bounce house or split the cost of sod (which is cheap) to fix the dead grass. None of that happened, which is very telling of the quality of their customer service, or lack thereof.
It's unfortunate. We would have used them again for our next party until we got a glimpse of how they handle any complaints. Let's face it. Considering the number of clients they have on any given weekend, something is bound to go wrong. How they handle themselves in those instances is a good indicator of a company's integrity.
I'd recommend a different company for your party rental needs in case something happens to go wrong with your transaction.
