I absolutely love Hobby Lobby. Retail therapy at its finest in terms of home decor. I do enjoy decorating the house for holidays and this is a great place to come for your indoor decor needs. Also, if I'm hosting people at my house, I'll come here to get things I need. I even enjoy the baking aisle because I do get in my baking moods! I'll buy pretty sprinkles and cupcake liners and cake accessories here. Even though this place gets super busy, I always find a parking spot quickly and it's very easy to navigate the aisles, it does not feel claustrophobic or too narrow. Lots of floor staff so if any questions arise, you're taken care of. They have amazing sales as well especially in between transitioning seasons. It's a very relaxing environment with soft music playing. They have a fabric area which is pretty vast and they have a lot of items here your crafts and project needs. It's always a treat to come here. But beware, you might fill up your cart with things that you don't necessarily need so, yes will power is of the essence here! read more

Fabric area employee and customer were talking about how they think other areas in town and the people in those areas are g*etto and poor and full of non English speaking people. This conversation topic was extremely discourteous from both these people however very unprofessional from the employee. After about 10-15 min in line, I expressed concerns to the employee about about long wait time ( I made no comments about their inappropriate conversation). The customer decided to insert herself into the conversation. She said " this is why I don't like you people" ( I am Asian). Though I was at the store at opening at 9 am, this customer decided to try and give me the profound advice of getting to the store earlier. She stated "You should have come shopping earlier to avoid lines instead of being a B word." I don't expect a minimum wage employee to be inclined to deal with this but she could have called a manager or just offered to call for assistance. I did not feel comfortable being harassed by a repulsive, angry woman so I left. Fabric cutters were Terri Linn and Andr-a per Hobby Lobby manager. Customer service supervisor believes Terri Linn is the employee I had the most interaction with. Manager Linda states she can speak with employee but do nothing about the customer. I understand a manager only can say so much but to do NOTHING is ridiculous. If I went into Target and started harassing other customers and stating racist comments on top of calling other customers the B word, I am pretty sure someone would speak to me about it or tell me to leave if I do not calm down. Per Hobby Lobby website: "Honoring the Lord in all we do by operating the company in a manner consistent with Biblical principles. Serving our employees and their families by establishing a work environment and company policies that build character, strengthen individuals, and nurture families." Hobby Lobby on Blackstone certainly does not adhere to these values. Some of the employees really need more education on basic culture studies. Wow always amazed when I go here. As I said you my first review you never know what you are going to get. Bad part, if OSHA went in there, they would write them for improper use of ladders. They leave them standing, not blocked off. I saw a young kid, about 5 or so, climb a 12 foot ladder. Mom has to get him. Can you say dangeres, or lawsuit! So we go to check out, my wife hands a fifty. Calls a manager to check it, and then they sit there and visit. We stand there waiting for the change. I don't think anything is going to change. A worker named Virginia scolded my daughter because she accidentally broke a stupid styrofoam wheel. No respect whatsoever. She acted like my daughter purposely broke it. "What are you doing???" "Why would you guys break it???" "Just give it to me!!!" I just KNOW that she hates her job. Parenting other people's kids is downright disrespectful. Not sure why she thinks it's okay to speak to my daughter like that. She left my daughter and I feeling embarrassed. It's not like they have no more of the styrofoam wheels, and it's certainly not like anyone buys them. There were a hundred other ways to go about this encounter and she chose the most INAPPROPRIATE. This location has a better selection that the Clovis location. This location is my go-to. Although I've had defective items from here (very rarely), they always do their best and go above and beyond to make it right! The staff are very kind and personable. I always find myself having conversation with them. I also appreciate their concern for safety for customers, since the area isn't as safe. i'm impressed! their christmas selection is plentiful, as well as with other home decor! customer service all around is great. we wanted a christmas porch sign that wasn't on the store floor, it was high up on the shelves & the man doing stock was very helpful getting the one we wanted for us. all christmas decor was 50% off. we found mostly everything we needed to decorate our home for christmas, including a gigantic santa-like gnome to put next to our tree. the christmas porch sign we got was regularly $47 & it was discounted down to $23, great value! read more

In all honesty, I love Hobby Lobby. I wish I could buy almost everything in the store. Their sales are amazing and if they're not having a sale, they usually offer a 40% coupon off of one item on the website. Any who, I appreciate how helpful the employees are and how organized everything is. Things are usually in their place and displayed in a beautiful manner. I came to Hobby Lobby with my dude in February 2020 to find some stuff to decorate my office. Since I am a therapist I wanted to find cool relaxing gender neutral art work that my clients and family would see. Some staff at my office recommended Hobby Lobby and I must say I am a huge fan! When you enter...you are greeted by staff and the goods. Upon walking in the dude and I saw a bunch of items we wanted under 30 seconds! They have a lot of cute and stylish stuff I would love to decorate our apartment with! They have something for everyone here. They also have unique items that I LOVE which were Giraffe art work. I wanted to take EVERY single giraffe piece of art work home with me and hang it up at home. I walked through every single aisle looking for stuff for my office and it is so hard to narrow it down with all the decor options! So many vibrant colors that catches your eyes. I am surprised how clean and organized this store was as it was so neat. I made sure to put back anything I touched in the right place. Staff is very friendly and approachable. They had St. Patrick's Day gear and Valentines Day Gear too. Electronics for cooking...any thing interior home related you can think of is at Hobby Lobby. They even have games, books, furniture the works. If you have extra time to spend, or bored in Fresno/Clovis you can easily spend a few hours here exploring and seeing what you can find. I know I want to come back and get this bedazzled hammer they had for my office and I wonder if they have cool looking nails too! Any who, you won't walk out empty handed. I love Hobby Lobby. I went to Hobby Lobby years ago when I was in Visalia. I am so glad they finally have this store here. I just love decorating and redecorating my house. I do a lot of arts and crafts and baking. I always find what I need. They do allow competitors coupons which is very helpful. I'm so glad I can just buy everything I need at one location. Staff here are usually very nice and helpful. I do respect that they are closed on Sundays for family time and worship. I also like that they keep lines short. I could hang out all day at Hobby Lobby just enjoying all the amazing items they sell & display so beautifully. I've never been disappointed with anything I've purchased. This store is a nice addition to our city and Blackstone Ave in particular. They did a really nice job on the overall design and it's well laid out. Sometimes its just fun to look at all the stuff and projects you could get into. The store seems to have some unique things I haven't seen elsewhere and I actually found an item that I liked. A black framed Star Wars Storm trooper hologram, 3-D picture. Simple, interesting, unique, it fit my overall minimal aesthetic. The staff seems to be doing a good job and boy, that parking lot gets packed. It's not a store I would personally visit often because let's face it, most of us have WAY too much stuff anyway. Still, I value the classy addition to our city and the nice job they did. I'm encouraged to see some of the upgrades and progress going on with Blackstone Ave, including the transportation updates. As an avid crafter and artsy person I'm happy that we finally got a Hobby Lobby. The closest one was in Visalia. I'd originally heard about this store years ago from a friend in Texas. Most people here are familiar with Michael's and Jo-Anns. Hobby Lobby is like the love child of Michael's, Jo-Ann's and Home Goods. Hobby Lobby's new location is larger than any Michael's or Jo-Ann's store in town. They sell fabric like Jo-Ann's, holiday decorations like Michael's and furnishings like Home Goods. I was pleasantly surprised by all of the decorative items and furniture here. A quick rundown of things they sell include: paper crafting, party supplies, holiday decorations, ready to hang art, vases and other table/ shelf decorations, fabric, fine art supplies, baking supplies, jewelry making supplies and furniture. Being the grand opening it was obviously very crowded, but the employees were nice and helpful. They have nice, visually appealing displays and everything was easy to find. I'm not too familiar with their couponing system here, but they were giving out 40% off one item coupons (Also available in the newspaper and online). The coupon stipulations were one per customer per transaction per day. Not sure how strict they are on the whole "per day" thing since I'd assume you could just get back in line. While I was shopping and assessing my items, an employee saw me and reiterated the coupon restrictions and seemed to emphasize all 3 parts. So who knows. Jo-Ann's still is the best in regards to letting you use multiple coupons per transaction. Michael's only lets you use one coupon of each type like a 40% off one item and a 25% off total purchase coupon. But neither of them tell you once per day. Being that the founder of Hobby Lobby is a Christian, they do sell a lot of religious type things. They're also closed on Sunday's like Chick-fil-A. Overall it's a great store whether you're looking to browse or buy. I could easily spend hours in there. I know I did spend an hour in there today. read more

I just wanted to buy a Dremel for polishing. Walk in to the store, first person I ask tells me it's in the last aisle, WRONG. For those who don't venture out of Fresno much, Hobby Lobby may be new to you. I'm familiar with Hobby Lobby since my finding out about it in the Morgan Hill location. Hobby Lobby doesn't usually open a lot of stores. Strangely enough they don't even have a store in bigger dense cities like San Jose, or the SF Bay Area. Los Banos just opened one recently which was very odd considering there's barely 40,000 people there and the next closest big city is Merced which is almost another hour away, then Madera and Fresno. Then 30 minutes back north is Gilroy. I dont know how that store will stay open. Anyways, as someone said, Fresno is very lucky to have one (Actually another location will be opening in Northwest Fresno soon). Think of Michael's or any other hobby arts and crafts store, but bigger and better. They have it all here. Anything arts and craft related, party stuff, decor, etc. It's a huge store, but this is the general size, layout for the other 2 Hobby Lobby locations I've visited (Morgan Hill, Los Banos). So there isn't much of a difference with this location. Los Banos location has the highest ceilings of the 3 which makes it feel more airy and roomy to shop which I like. The parking at this location can be tough sometimes. The staff here has been pretty good the few times I've went. Again very similar like the other Hobby Lobbys, where it seems like there is never enough people working the registers. TIP, check their website or download the app, they almost always have some kind of coupon/discount (like Michael's) to sweeten the price. read more

Their brand of paper craft items such as stickers are typically 50% off every two or three weeks. Big parking lot. Usually quite a wait to check out as few check stands are open and they are somewhat slow at the process. Staff has always been friendly when I've been in. The Fresno store is HUGE. Even on a Tuesday the store was packed with crafty customers looking for their supplies. The parking lot is large, but it too was filled with cars. I can see where there would be a shortage of parking on a weekend day. Prices are on the high side, but the company discounts the items 40 percent, 50 percent, making them a bit more affordable. However, their weekly coupons are not usable for discounted items. Checkout lines are long and each transaction ahead of me seemed to take a long time to process. Mine, however, went very quickly. I am a single mother who was interested in trying a tie blanket for the first time, for my 11 month old son. I found two fabrics I loved and purchased them. I attempted my tie blanket that night. Two cuts into the blanket i attempt my knot, and the blanket fabric completely falls apart. The fabric I purchased was not compatible for a tie blanket. The associates knew my goal and what I wanted to do for my Holiday craft. I went back to the store to do an exchange and was charged a dollar, to wait in a 45 minute line. Apparently fabrics that are cut into are not returnable, which I understand now that i know, but after spending $100 in the store to pay a dollar difference.... i think i'll get my fabric at walmart next time. read more

I was there earlier getting some fabric and and a fabric marker for my wife (lady in the section was super unhelpful but that's standard for the place). As I'm checking out a employee was notified that a humming bird was trapped in the glass entrance. One of the cashiers (super awesome dude) went to help try and release it. As he was trying to catch the poor bird. I noticed a frantic manager come outta nowhere barking at him to get back to his register. He kinda did the whateves boss thing and caught the bird and released it outside. I get that there was a ton of people in there. I bet you anything most (decent) people there wouldn't have minded waiting the extra 2 minutes so one of gods creatures didn't parish under hot neon lights next to tacky ass furniture. I'm a big fan of Hobby Lobby; but unfortunately after my experience there, I will no longer be shopping there. I was there to check out their post-Christmas sale. Upon making my our chase, I realized that my keys had fallen off the clip from my purse. When I informed the staff, they were very non-chalant about the situation. With all my four young children with me, we re-traced our steps; however couldn't find it. I asked to speak to the manager; however he was so busy-bodied and felt very much disregarded by him and another manager-both wearing all black. I understand it was a busy night altogether; however feel that the managers could have been more responsive. After 30-40 minutes of combing through the aisles, one of the staff that I approached did finally asked a couple of the staff to help do a walk through. I left my phone number and waited outside, as now they were closed, and did not even allow myself and my 4 young children to stay inside while waiting for my hubby to arrive with the spare key. When I called the next day to speak to the manager again, he stated that nothing had been turned in. I asked if the camera tape could be reviewed with those specific time frame, as my husband's work keys were also on that set, he bluntly told me he couldn't help, as they have only two cameras, one in the front and by the bathrooms.
