We had an unexpected plumbing emergency with water…read morecoming through our downstairs ceiling from our upstairs shower, and he was at our house in less than an hour. Tim quickly diagnosed the problem, explained what was going on, and had the repair taken care of right away. He even connected us with a water restoration company, who was able to come out the same day to address the water damage. On top of the incredible response time and service, his pricing was extremely affordable -- honestly much less than I expected for an emergency call with such a fast turnaround. Having water suddenly coming through your ceiling is incredibly stressful, and Tim made the whole situation feel manageable from the moment he arrived. Fast, knowledgeable, honest, affordable, and genuinely helpful. We will absolutely call him again for any future plumbing needs and would recommend him without hesitation!

He was also straightforward about what actually needed to be fixed and what didn't. Eventually, we chose him to do our work, and the whole process was efficient and smooth from start to finish. Beware! Appears that this "locally owned company" was purchased by a private equity group (Flint…read moreGroup is the platform company with General Atlantic being the private equity firm). We ultimately paid way too much for a basic 50 gallon hot water heater swap (bundled price of almost $3000). I was out of town and my wife was busy with work when this happened. We had used Bumble Bee Plumbing in the past and trusted them. That trust has been broken and will never return. My wife left a Google review. There was a response posted as "response from the owner" which left a phone number of 602-813-0298 to call so we could speak with their "manager" to address our concerns. I tried to call that number twice...it's been disconnected! Do your research, get multiple bids and verify that the company you are calling is truly LOCALLY OWNED and has not been rolled up under some private equity structure. We have all seen countless stories about how private equity could care less about the customer and how they leave a trail of destruction and debt in the end. It's largely about profits, margins and EBITDA (earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization). This is the valuation metric that's referenced (with a multiple applied) when they sell. In most cases, that's ultimately ALL PRIVATE EQUITY FIRMS CARE ABOUT! It's a sad yet not surprising story on the fleecing of America! All I can say about Bumble Bee Plumbing is my experience was very different this time and it appears that since my last time using them, private equity has gotten involved. I'll let you draw your own conclusions! Would love to see a customer advocacy/awareness story on one of the local news affiliates about how private equity has consolidated so many previously locally owned trade businesses (plumbing, HVAC, electrical). This might be a good starting point for that type of story.

Donald did a good job at a reasonable price replacing an angle stop valve for the supply line for…read moremy toilet. It was a nightmare situation as a previous contractor broke it and left me abandoned and my main water supply wouldn't turn off so I could literally not sleep for 24 hours as I had to empty a bowl every 30 to 60 minutes (the supply valve is low so it would not accommodate anything larger underneath) or it would flood and ruin the new flooring that was just installed. It did ruin my face board that I had just had installed the day before. He kept blaming me saying by turning the giant nut I somehow ruined the pipe which I don't understand but I did everything to try and loosen the bolt and I found no special instructions or tool that specified one as a necessity to use on it in all my research or that I had done anything wrong, but it had been there for 30 years and was fused on tight and wouldn't budge even with two vise grips, and with the flooding happening I was desperate to get it removed so I thought that continuous commentary was strange. He also said I had to loosen that nut clockwise as if it were reversely threaded but was told the opposite multiple times in my research so again I'm very confused. If something had been critically missed I wish he would've at least told me. I didn't see how he removed it. He walked off with my channel locks which I informed him of immediately but luckily he changed his mind and returned them before I had to leave the next day after he first said he couldn't. I had been thru two days of hell from the previous contractor with 8 hours sleep over three nights. But he did the job and it took him no more than 15 to 20 minutes. There's a really big gash in my wall now where the valve is but I guess he had to do that to cut the pipe. I will have to find a wall cover plate or something to hide it.

We had tried Draino and our own snake but nothing helped. We noticed it's take over an hour to drain and was draining into our outside driveway. I also had a toilet that was flushing weird. Almost immediately after my online inquiry, someone called and even offered a sooner time slot than I had entered online; which was amazing since I was trying to get this taken care of on Father's Day Weekend & take one thing off my husband's to-do list. Someone came out and within a matter of 5 minutes got the toilet up and running smoothly. He was working at the tub for a good 20 minutes and said he was unsuccessful and had to get someone out to use a camera to see what was going on. (this visit was $330+) to unclog my toilet in 5 mins... He enrolled me in some "program" which he said would help him bonus and would ensure if they had to come out again I would get a "discount" Then... an hour later another guy shows up, took a photo of the tub and told me he'd email an estimate. I thought he was going to use a camera down the drain to get more information, but no. Just a photo. I get an emailed estimate to rip out my tub, dig into the foundation and replace any broken pipes for over $8000! This does not include any cost of damages done to the flooring or walls in the process. I was completely stunned... got another opinion and someone came out and unclogged a wad of hair from the drain within an hour and now everything is working fine.. Again, everyone was very nice in the process and truly made me believe they were helping me out and giving me the best deal. I write this to caution anyone to definitely get another opinion before spending the money.
