Ravi at Valley Florist is the BEST! I can't recommend this business highly enough. I'd give them seven stars if I could! I ordered a bouquet online for my friend who unfortunately was in the ICU at the nearby med center. Ravi called me just moments after my order went through to politely inform me that flowers cannot be delivered to the ICU. (Darn it!) He presented me with several options and I really appreciated him being so solutions oriented. I decided to have him simply cancel the order and reverse the charges, which was done immediately. Flash forward to the good news of my friend's condition improving and being moved out of ICU. I called Valley Florist back to ask if they could reinstate my order and change the room number for delivery. Ravi said absolutely but he was driving so he'd call me back to get the details. He also checked with the hospital to guarantee that the flowers could indeed be delivered. Talk about going above and beyond! We connected via phone midday and he confirmed he could make the delivery right away and would call later to get payment information from me since he was with a customer when I called. Ravi called me later in the afternoon to confirm delivery and get payment. What business does this these days? Like I said, I can't recommend Valley Florist enough. Their online ordering system was easy and they have a nice selection of bouquets. My friend was delighted with the "Sunny Garden Bouquet" she received and I couldn't be more pleased with my interactions with Ravi at Valley Florist. Florist tried to talk me into something else so I'm asked if he did not have what was needed foe my selection. He said he did was just giving me options. So I ordered and had it delivered. In taking a break from my NZ yelps, but continuing on the garden/floral theme, I will take this opportunity to share my thoughts on Valley Florist (FKA Conroy's Flowers). I truly love giving flowers to loved ones as much as (if not more than) receiving them (both KMS and I share that sentiment). So, when it came time for one of my BFFs birthday last week, I wanted to send her a very unique birthday arrangement. Of course, I looked to my beloved Yelp to help me. After some research and perusing the different arrangements, I decided on Valley Florists. VF's website was very easy to navigate, and even offered same day delivery. They have a variety of arrangements (from birthday to holiday, with some specials as well). Prices are reasonable for SV standards. I picked the perfect perfect birthday arrangement that best suited my BFFs personality (as she loves flowers and is a flower expert). It included roses, carnations, Viking poms, and other fresh flowers in a green tin bucket. Sounds different, no? Check out the pic and see how cool the arrangement really is. The online order form was simple and was placed the day before her birthday around 3pm. The following day, her actual birthday, the flowers arrived by 10am. The birthday girl was extremely happy and grateful. Apparently, in all of her floral experiences, she had never seen an arrangement like the one I gave her before. Suhweet! Awesomeness!! I forgot to ask her to take a pic of it to compare with the pic on the website, but I'm fairly certain it resembled what was on the website. I was so happy to make her feel loved on her birthday (especially since I wasn't able to greet and celebrate with her on that day)! I am so happy to finally find a wonderful florist in the bay area. Valley florist created for me three beautiful garlands of roses and carnations for my Ganpati Pooja (indian festival). My sister and I went here to get an arrangement for my cousin's birthday. The guy working was friendly. We chose this arrangement with yellow and white flowers. My sister didn't like the white carnations so the guy offered to paint them. Before he could paint them we asked if the hue would be similar to the other carnations we saw. We wanted a peach colored carnation and when we saw one, we opted to swap those instead of painting the white carnations. He gave us a card to write happy birthday. I decided to try this place after all the good reviews but maybe it's just my luck. The flowers I ordered online as a gift looks nothing like what I got. I ordered what was said to be a 20 inches tall deluxe purple and got what is a 10 inches withered pink and off colored bouquet, and I picked this up myself hours after I placed the order. Ordered a $520 rose crown for a funeral in late January. The flowers were completely wilted and ugly and the arrangement lacked fullness. For the amount of money spent on the arrangement I was completely shocked when I saw it. I know no more then $100 was spent on buying the roses for this arrangement, this shop pocketed $400 in profit. We are in a global pandemic where thousands of small businesses are struggling to keep their doors open, you'd think they'd go the extra mile to please a customer especially when your paying over $500. He showed me the final product and it came out hetter than expected and better than their online picture. Rudy is the man! The bad part: The boss I guess you can say, gets upset if you keep asking questions and letting him know how you want things done if possible. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM HERE! . Valley Florist had the best rating compared to all the other florist shops in the SJ area, so I decided to go with them. I thought that purchasing flowers from a florist over 1800flowers.com was going to be better and I was willing to spend the extra money on my mom this year. First off, I felt discriminated. I am in my mid 20s, but I look like I'm 18 or 19. When I walked in, two older men were being assisted. After one man finished I stood at the counter and was never acknowledged by the four people working there. A few minutes later two women who seemed to be in their 40's walked in and they were greeted and offered assistance RIGHT away. Before I got a chance to say anything one of the women was sweet enough to point out that I was there first. Second, unlike the pictures shown on their website, the bouquet had absolutely no volume. Now I know better than to trust the pictures, but there were only 3 roses and the rest of the bouquet was filled with small flowers and green leaves. Mostly, green leaves. On top of all that, MOST of the stems were broken! You know those small flowers that I mentioned earlier? Most of them weren't even attached to stems! They were just stuck into the bouquet as fillers. I pulled out a HAND FULL of them that were not attached to any stems AT ALL. I will add a picture for you all to see. You're better off buying flowers from Safeway for a quarter of the price. read more

1.5 STARS, ONLY because they finally managed to get my mother's flowers delivered by the end of Mother's Day. Otherwise, I would have really given them 0 STARS, if I could. I wanted to get something different and unique for my mom, because she gets pretty bored with the typical roses and tulips. The pink poodle caught my eye, so I went with that. The total came to about $70 with shipping. Yeah, I know...expensive! If you're going to buy anyone flowers, be prepared to spend some cash because flowers are not cheap! Well anyway, Mother's Day came around and I had been anticipating all day for my mom's call. Six o'clock came around and no call. Her salon closed at five. I thought maybe she was busy, so I gave her a call and I realized that she hadn't received anything. I know, right? I was pretty annoyed and upset. I called the florist and luckily they were still open. They had assured me that it had been delivered and that the driver was due back in 10 minutes, so they would call me back to confirm. Almost half an hour later, the florist calls me back and regrets to inform me that the driver did not make it to the salon in time. They offered to deliver the arrangement to my mom's home. I was pretty upset, so I asked about the shipping fee. They said they would waive the fee and the arrangement ended up arriving at approximately 8:30pm that night, which was practically the end of the day. I am not sure if I was the only case, but something like this is pretty unforgivable; especially when they practically ruined a special day. Unless you want to risk having your flowers delivered late, I wouldn't suggest going to Valley Florist. read more

The ladies behind the counter were super sweet and we were able to get a very purple inspired bouquet with a variety of flowers for under 25 bucks which was nice. Why the four stars you ask? I can get a cheaper bouquet with tons of more flowers in Santa Cruz. for the same amount of money. They also had some cute stuffed animals, trinkets and cards. Let me just start this by saying I was a jerk this morning. My grandma passed and I have been looking everywhere for an orchid piece to honor her. Valley Florist has been our "Go To" for all our special occasions since 2007 when our first daughter attended her Prom to our parents/relatives passing away through the years. The owner is kind, compassionate, friendly and very helpful in making sure I was informed of the flowers in season and offered recommendations when needed. We never had to worry about the flowers delivered as they were always beautiful and on time. Our Aunt recently passed and as usual the sprays were beautiful. Instead go to Floreria Juanita down the street, where they will treat you like an actual human being. My boyfriend came here trying to purchase me a bouquet of roses for Valentine's Day. He was helped by an Indian woman (didn't catch her name). He wanted a dozen long stem roses which they tried to charge him $94 for with a vase. My boyfriend didn't want to pay for a vase and the woman told him that it wouldn't make much of a difference in price but refused to tell him how much the difference was. When you work in customer service, you should at least work with a potential customer who is trying to place an order and find the best price and option that would work with their budget. When my boyfriend hesitated she rudely snapped at him and said "Hurry up and make up your mind." I mean seriously?! Valentine's Day can put a lot of pressure on guys and especially on their wallets and sometimes guys need a little help making this day magical for their significant other. No way should they feel pressured to buy something that they don't want nor should a man be treated that way for trying to do something nice for the people he loves. Wish I could have helped my boyfriend out with this one--but it was a surprise for me! I looked on their website and there were plenty of nice options that would have worked well within budget.. I've been going to this neighborhood florist since I was 17. This is where I got my flowers for proms, Valentine's, mother's day, birthdays, and other occasional flowers. I like the owner, he's a splendid guy when I conversed with him 7 years ago. Since I moved away, I relied on valley florist for flower delivery services. I ordered them. They all delivered in a timely manner. This year has been tough for my mom so come Valentine's day I wanted something more special. I bought more than usual and I wanted some specific instruction to be delivered after 3pm so my mom would receive it when she gets off work. Comes 5pm I had a feeling this is going to be delivered really late so I called them to see how close they were from being delivered. I told her if she could deliver it soon. The lady told me it was next. She didn't really care for my urgency. 7pm comes around my mom still hasn't received anything. I called they said it was close. 8:10pm my mom was in bed when they delivered it. If I had known my flowers would be last on his list because I gave simple instructions and they took it literal and delivered as a last stop, I wouldn't have given you detailed instruction or bought them at all Also, I didn't order these flowers the day of, I ordered it ahead of time and I got the service of someone who ordered it mid day.
