The morning of June 17th, 2021, he did the installation. Later that day I stopped by the property and was shocked that several areas looked very unprofessional. That afternoon I called Mr. Moreland and we had a conversation. Initially, I calmly explained why I was dissatisfied. Mr. Moreland became incredibly angry and condescending. At the end of the call, he said to me, "you are about the most ignorant person I've ever heard, goodbye" and then he hung up. Befittingly, I don't want to have him and his personality on my property ever again. I legally recorded our conversation on June 17th, and it is proof of what happened. I took pictures of the worst looking portions of the work done. The pictures have been reviewed by individuals experienced with professional gutter installations, and they agree with my reasoning for being unsatisfied. However, if Delmas Moreland responds to complaints from some customers the way he did for me, I can understand why those customers may be intimated enough to avoid any further interaction with him and avoid giving him a negative review. I certainly hope that sharing my experience with Moreland's Guttering will keep others from having to go through what I did. No one should have an inferior gutter installation and then have severe intimidation tactics used against them. That may be why you don't see many negative reviews from unsatisfied customers. I believe Delmas Moreland saw me as an old man, with an old beat-up truck, wanting gutters installed on an old house. I think that may be part of the reasons why he didn't see the need to do a professional job or treat me respectfully. Furthermore, I don't believe he was aware that the work he did wasn't at my residence. On July 30, 2021, I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau (BBB). As of September 18, 2021, Mr. Moreland has totally ignored two separate requests from the BBB trying to mediate my complaint. Why is that, especially if he thought he did a professional and respectful job? He knows what he did and made no attempt whatsoever to account for his work and behavior. You only need to look at my pictures and documentation to understand why multiple sources have concluded the same I have. Additionally, Moreland's Guttering from Winchester, VA has a poor rating of D+ on the Better Business Bureau's website. Their estimate was reasonable, and they used quality materials for which they are certified installers. Their workers were early to the job site, efficient, and tidy. My roof looks wonderful! The gutter system, due to be reinstalled in a few days, will complete this job. Despite the 2021 worker shortages and the material delays and costs that so many companies are struggling with, Gregory's did not overpromise, yet they achieved what they said they would do. After two months of interviewing and acquiring opinions from 12 contractors and an adjuster, we…read morefinally settled with Gregory. They were not only upfront and honest with their time-table, abilities and recommendations; they were also very open to use a product they typically don't use. Communication was very clear and an understanding of the booked schedule they had was taken into consideration. We were provided a time frame of several months out. We placed our order and followed up with their team only three times; once to determine if we were still on schedule, once to confirm if all product was received and once to confirm installation date. We did not have any rush for this and gave them breathing room to do what they needed to do to prepare. We were fully aware that it would be a few months before installation, which for the job and their schedule, was a very reasonable expectation. The work was scheduled to be completed within one day, but unfortunately things happen; the truck transporting our product blew a tire and was delayed by several hours. Within that time Gregory's crew prepped our roof and kept me constantly up to date with projections. The job wound-up being a two day job, but since there was rain in the forecast for the next day, completion would not be until the following day. This concerned us, as no homeowner really wants a tarped roof to be exposed to the elements regardless of its integrity. We woke early the next morning surprised to find Gregory's crew jumping back into it. Crew member Johnny informed me that he could not sleep knowing the job was not done, and since the storm was not expected to hit until around 11AM, they moved swiftly to finish. End product looks amazing. We are extremely satisfied with their performance. Great guys to talk to, very friendly with good stories who demonstrate personal conviction in their work. Our recommendation: Relax, roofers during this time are very busy, manage your expectation for installation in a reasonable manner, rather than pushing excessively for unnecessary confrontation.
