David was by the far the most knowledgeable about all things roofing & siding. We had lots of different questions throughout the process and David was always able to give us good honest feedback. His crew was on-time, moved quickly, and had our entire house done in about 30 days. They were great at cleaning things up every day after they finished their jobs and were able to pivot quickly when the job required it (we added additional windows to be replaced half-way through their work). Oh and I should mention that David's pricing was fantastic. I would highly recommend David Anderson and his team for anything roofing & siding related. They're awesome!

So far he's done a range hood and storm door install for me, along with re-doing the caulking in our kitchen where the granite countertop meets the tile backsplash. We plan on using him to build an eat-in island in our kitchen in the future. I'd really highly recommend Angel Home Enterprise to anyone who needs work done well and at the right price. To boot, Aivar's got a great sense of humor and will sit and joke around with you over a cup of coffee. I like his style - he's not in a rush like a lot of other contractors I've met.. hell.. I like that he called us back! We called numerous places (Click Construction, William Beach Contracting) - good luck getting anyone to call you back if you're not planning a $20k + job. Look, we're not rich by any stretch of the imagination, but we had some hard-earned money set aside to get this work done, and if any of the other jokers we'd called had realized that doing just one job well will often lead to other work then maybe they'd get more business. I mean, at least return a call maybe? Haha, I did get one contractor to respond and told him I'd text him some pictures of our range so he could get an idea of the type of hood we wanted installed.. the next day I accidentally sent him a text meant for my husband and called him 'baby bear'. He DID respond that time, with 'nope this is Papa Bear' which got a laugh from me (along with extreme mortification) but then I never heard from him again. Guess I scared him off, ah well.

We worked closely with Brian all the way through the process, and found him to be very accommodating of our needs. We had some things we wanted to do that were different - such as using geothermal heating, adjusting some features to accommodate what we anticipate may be needed as we age, and the like. We found Valley Builders to be a very high quality builder. I was also very pleased with how easily Brian accommodated changes - in some cases, we arranged the changes separately from our contract, in other cases, they were incorporated into the contract. We made some changes in suppliers that went smoothly as well. We're delighted with how our home has turned out.

I wish I would've had the chance to see if Mr. Fitchett's (owner's) quality of work was any good,…read morebut we didn't get past drawing up a contract for our stick-built house. There were a number of red flags: an estimate where the items didn't add up to the total; a "contract" with no Scope of Work (as mandated by DPOR); and an insistence of having our construction loan go to closing before he'd even submit the Building Permit. This was after I'd offered to pay for the permit out of pocket; and his initial assurances that he wouldn't have much to do with the financial side of things. Supposedly, he has 12 years of experience in the field, but if that's true, why did I have to provide a blank contract template; and then try to convince him of its necessity? A good contract protects all parties involved - that's true no matter what industry, location, or people involved. Looking back on emails exchanged, I can clearly see he took offence at a lot of what I said -made it personal - when this was just about the business of building our house and putting together a decent contract. HIs non-cooperation and insistence on " it's more relaxed in Shenandoah County than in NoVA" is just an excuse for lazy and unprofessional behavior. And it's rude for him to have said that to me, a potential customer; and it wasn't the first time he'd made snide comments. He definitely took offense to something about me - whether it's because I'm a woman, educated, or simply wanted him to work outside his comfort zone - I don't know. Fortunately, none of those are my problem; and I'm very glad I decided NOT to waste any more of my time with him. It's Builders like this that give every other builder or contractor a black eye.

There really was not much of a decision based on our history with Blaine. We were not disappointed. Remodeling a kitchen is much different than remodeling a bathroom - many more moving parts and design decisions. The kitchen remodel highlighted the best trait about Blaine. You can discuss design alternatives throughout the process. He listens and provides the pros and cons. He will go out of this way to ensure you are happy with the result. The name Fine Line Constructions speaks for itself. Blaine's attention to detail is amazing. He will spot imperfections and fix them before you even notice the problem. And on those rare occasions when you are not 100 percent pleased with the result, Blaine will address the issue without question. I am not sure what our next remodeling project will be, but when hiring a General Contractor our first choice will be Fine Line Construction.

Over the past year and a half they've masterfully completed several jobs for us, and we have them on the books for several more. They have dug out and installed french drains with sump pumps as well as repaired and painted walls, ceilings, and brickwork. All of these things were done expertly. But the most significant work they've done was to create, from the ground up, an addition to our house. We call it an addition, a sunroom, our new "hang out all day" room. A 14x16 vaulted ceiling with support beam masterpiece, the casement windows are all handmade with the finest craftsmanship and care. They spent hours, days and weeks measuring, sanding, staining, painting, glueing, nailing, and appraising. Perfection was the goal and it was accomplished over and over again. We were especially appreciative of the creativity and thoughtfulness with design and vision: Blaine especially was adept at providing the many options involved in all aspects of the job to choose from - such as tile material and color to stain shades - and then, when asked, gave his highly informed and relevant ideas and opinions. And when supplier issues and delays occurred as they always seem to these days they were undeterred and never rushed nor took shortcuts. They were always punctual, courteous, and up front with all details and accounting. Our cost overages were insignificant. We couldn't be happier with them and their work, and the end result was well beyond what we expected.
