We've talked to drivers who constantly have to apologize for broken boxes and merchandise. Buying things from Amazon usually results in having to send back the shattered remains. Drivers aren't free from blame though. I just received a package that was dumped at my front door - the package clearly says "signature required." I paid $10 extra for the signature requirement as I have the right to refuse a broken box. UPS drivers usually dump and run so they don't have to take things back. I'm not sure who is in charge of this distribution center, but I've contacted every merchant I deal with (including Amazon and Walmart,) asking each to ship with their FedEx account instead of UPS. I will no longer use UPS until they get their act together.
