Wanted a door expert for both a new front door and back door. Wanted quality more than price. Wanted to support a local business rather than something like Home Depot. I received basic knowledge, average quality, and substandard installation service from Valley Doors Group. Really would not ever go back or recommend to anyone. Door handles were put on incorrectly, where the interior side of the handle was installed on the exterior. The latch on my front door never was lined up properly with the strike so it would close properly. We wanted our doors stained instead of painted and Avi promised it would look like a beautiful piece of furniture. Ended up with many spots where stain was missed. Really poor attention to detail. There is a lack of thought regarding what the threshold should look like and function like. Doesn't even ask about the trim you might prefer, just puts in what he thinks. Things a dumb consumer like myself would not think about... until you see it on installation day. When I ask why this threshold and why this trim he replies with "everyone does it like this". Upon showing him pictures and describing to him what we need/want- which was to replace a window and slider to match another window and slider (Milgard) and well as get all new interior doors for our house remodel, Avi became extremely rude. When discussing the window and slider, he told us that we shouldn't do "this", but "that" instead and "why would you retrofit?" "Why did you come in? Where's your contractor?" The finish is awful..could have done better myself with no experience..the windows in the doors have fingerprints on the inside so I can't get to them to clean it..there was no threshold installed so my door is flush with my floor..can't put any kind of rug in front of the door.. he said the finish would be exactly the same as the door in his store..that was a total lie and when I asked him to come back to go over these things he disappeared..never responded to me.. the door wasn't cheap.. In our search for a company to put in new front doors, we saw and called many companies. Most were very vague and said they'd send us estimates, which we never received. When we walked into VDG, we were warmly greeted by Avi (owner). We gave him our measurements and discussed changing from double doors to single with glass panels, do we get wood or synthetic, pre-finished or stained. He was very patient in showing us the options, voiced his suggestions and recommendations and gave us a bid right then! We set a date, Israel and crew showed up each day at 8:30 and worked till 4-5. First day was removal of doors and frames, installing new ones and preparing for next day staining and final installation. The staining was fantastic, making sure they matched our wood floor with all its variations depending on how the light hits it. We LOVE the final product!! I have to say that, while they were selling me the windows, they were great but, 4 years after I purchased windows from them, I have had a part break on one of the windows. The window is in a guest room which is rarely used so I just noticed the broken safety latch recently. I called Valley Doors Group and let them know I had a warranty issue (the parts are lifetime warranty) and received rude, angry, verbal abuse from the man who answered the phone - some excerpts from a really unpleasant conversation; "You are calling after 4 years to COMPLAIN about something we installed. We do LABOR only - no warranty! If you have a problem with something YOU broke, then you should get it fixed! We will charge you $75 to drive to your house just to look at the part that YOU broke and then you will pay for us to fix it!". As terrible as that was, the shocker came when I contacted the manufacturer of the windows after that conversation. Atrium seems to be telling me that, while I paid for their windows, it is not their windows that I have installed in my house. At this time, it appears that I have brochures for Atrium Dynasty windows but some cheap, generic windows installed. All of my windows have Valley Doors Group stickers on them and they are supposed to have Atrium "Do not remove" labels with warranty information. Boo, Boo, BOO on Valley Doors Groups. read more

I initially contracted Valley Doors Group to come out to my new home and install one (1) front door, which I had previously bought from a supplier out of state, and to install three (3) Yale Assure smart locks. Upon arrival Avi, the owner, seemed very knowledgeable about the subject, stating that it would be no problem to do the work, likely over a 2-3 day period, despite that they "normally don't install doors unless they are bought from [Valley Doors Group]". There were issues almost immediately. On the first day of work, Israel (Avi's installer) incorrectly installed the Yale lock on the back door, and threw away the key-tail (the key component in creating a secure door lock), so that even though the lock was "installed", it actually didn't even turn the deadbolt in the doorframe. So for two (2) whole days, the house was left unsecured and vulnerable, while I tried to get Avi back on the phone to have Israel return to fix the issue. Such a huge mix-up, coupled with the super slow response time in returning my call about a serious issue, should have been enough to convince me that these guys were terribly unprofessional, but I decided to give them another shot, and had them out to install another, more secure door in my garage storage area. This door was to use a Mul-T-Lock, secure keyed lock. After finally getting the door ordered (from Valley Doors Group), Israel came out to install it. He was given the Mul-T-Lock and all associated hardware prior, but once he drilled the holes, realized that he had measured incorrectly and the holes had been cut in the wrong location. Due to Israel's error, this door also doesn't lock correctly! When I attempted to contact Avi to have Israel come out to re-install the locks correctly, I was given the run around. First he told me that they don't have time to come out to fix their mistake, then I was told he did not take responsibility for the hardware, although the hardware is not the issue, the installation of the hardware is the issue - as confirmed by a third party locksmith who I had come out to inspect why our locks weren't working properly, culminating into the last straw where my fiancé and I were locked out of our house due to Israel's various installation errors. Now Avi is saying he can come out "to see if my doors lock or not", at the cost of $75. I would say avoid Valley Doors Group. period. After finding out that my doors were left vulnerable, unsecured, in some cases not even functional at all; and after experiencing Avi's rude, hostile, arrogance over the phone, their services have left me with a far from pleasant experience which will likely have to be rectified in court, unfortunately. read more

His crew that came to install the doors weren't very good though. They ruined the finish trim wood with too many nails in one spot and they put the wrong mortar/stucco patch around the new frame - I had to chip it away and re-do his myself. They would not repair it and told me to have an alarm company come to fix it at my expense. This is very poor customer service.
