ABSOLUTE - BEWARE---Hello my fellow axe friends and well the public in general. I moved to Michigan…read moreabout three years ago and found Total Axe. I met a nice woman by the name of Andrea and I thought that the girls axe league would be a place for me. I made friends, did things with some of the girls, even Andrea and thought I found my safe space. I got along with everyone. I even got a morale award and fun player to throw axes against award over my time there. The banter was always good. It was always a light night of laughter and giggles. I even brought my daughter with me from time to time and she loved it. I ended up making my own group of girls from axe that I see regularly, which I'm thankful for. I have been gone this last season so maybe now about seven weeks and as I was getting ready to re-sign up for the new season, I get this blindsided email with absolutely no information, no facts, nothing. I was very surprised, hurt..though this is Chris's demeanor so there is that. What's surprised me the most is there was no call to me. No text, no asking me to come in and have a conversation to see if there is any merit to what the email alleges. This is very shameful of Total Axe to not actually have a conversation first with both sides being that it's all alleged. Multiple people had a problem with me... great present the facts, something. Why I am putting this out here is because I want people warned of how this small business handles situations. They presume you guilty and that's that. The ladies that go there, I wish you all the best and will miss the camaraderie, the conversations, the banter . I hope to see you outside that hostile environment. Needless to say this was not OK the way this was handled. No one deserves this. I never laid a finger on anyone and never have I threatened anyone. I am sure I am missing some. Hi Felicia, This is to inform you that, effective immediately, you can no longer participate in leagues or activities at Total Axe. This decision has been made after considering multiple complaints and concerns regarding your conduct towards other members here. This decision is final and we will not discuss or debate it further. I wish you the best Chris Ross Total Axe There are other victims. Please beware.

At the end of the day, it was a great, low key activity that was appropriate and fun for all adults (age 23-65 in our party) and fitness levels! Great instruction! Highly recommend

Never once did we feel out of place or silly, which is nice when you are doing something so new. The concept is fairly quite easy to grasp once you find your sweet spot in your throw. It is challenging but not impossible. It is also great to see a vast array of people having fun. The girls have just as much fun as the boys and the old can definitely keep up with the young. This is a great new way to get off the couch and have some fun, whether its with a team of co-workers, or your closest friends. Currently they only take cash so keep that in mind if you go for a throw!

The boys say I'm very accurate and could do very well in competition. I can't exactly say why it's such a good time throwing an axe at a target. It's awkward at first; but once you get the hang of it, it's quite easy. My favourite joke being "No drinking and axe throwing". It turns out that there is. They have beers, craft/draft/domestic cans and other spirits available. We don't really indulge in it, but nice to know you can get all liquored up and chuck an axe at the wall. Maybe the location for your next party? The key to this is the hands-on assistance. Axe masters Steve (great name) and Miranda take the time to teach you. It's not all hatchets; they have other items to throw like knives and big axes. Pro Tip: Call for a reservation. Especially if you have a larger group. If you can, bring a smaller group of people. Four worked great for us! A two hour package is perfect. Time for a lesson, plenty of time to throw! 11/24

We headed upstairs to grab a drink prior to exploring the arcade downstairs. We were immediately greeted and told about the layout, we decided to order the Shirley Temple of Doom (get it! ). It was the bougiest, best made Shirley temple EVER. Thanks Evelyn! They had a snack bar with candy, nachos, popcorn and pretzels along with multiple beverages. Along with the snack bar the upstairs features axe throwing and an absolutely dreamy game area with an assortment of games for every age level. There was plenty of space to hang out, it was super clean, well lit, but not uncomfortably bright (if that makes sense) and very very welcoming. The arcade area was more my son and husbands area- they had a blast playing skee ball, Pac-Man, pinball and racing. We could've stayed all day. Price wise everything was SO reasonable. I think that was one of the most impressive aspects. I could easily see myself grabbing a book, giving my kid $10 and parking myself by the skeeball machine sipping a mocktail and being left alone for at least an hour. This is PRICELESS. I am so glad to have discovered this gem and look forward to frequenting it often this summer, it'll be perfect for those rainy or HOT HOT days where the park or playing outside is just not an option.

Eventually, we migrated to the second floor and began wielding the axes. If you've read my previous writings you'll understand why I was disqualified and Marshalled the events. FWIW, at the end I threw against the top axe chucker and thoroughly cleaned his clock. This should garner me creds amongst the younger folk. Back downstairs for more snacks, drinks and the results.
