Paid $300 total ($250 upfront + $50 for a second address in Oakland that was vacant). Went to court with zero proof of service. He initially agreed to send documentation, then went silent, then claimed it was "outside scope," then said it required a separate paid document. Became hostile when I pushed for clarity. I tried calling this place to inquire about their services. I started talking and the guy immediately hung up on me. He called me back and I merged him on my other call. He asked, why do you have me on a conference call? I started to answer and he hung up again. Had he let me talk, I could've explained the reason for him being on a conference phone call. I tried calling back again without the other person on the phone only to find out I had been blocked. I'm assuming this guys name is Robert because of all the other reviews. This company required payment up front to serve our summons and complaint. I e-mailed over our documents to some lock company and sent our payment to a lock company. Rob said he would likely attempt first service the next morning. I received a call from Rob the following morning saying he had just dropped our complaint at the feet of the supervisor of the hospital telling the man - "You've been served". My response? But my e-mail provided the REGISTERED AGENT FOR SERVICE OF PROCESS that we needed served (on behalf of the hospital). How does Rob respond? Suddenly I have to pay more because he messed up - then when he sensed that I was reluctant, he started to get pushy about just letting him do it over again - THEN he started mocking my stuttering (because, well, maybe I just want my money back because this task is too important to trust with someone who didn't get it right). The rest of the day I spent calling him and asking for my money back and he would belittle me for wanting my little change back. Our numerous phone conversations included Rob cursing at me, Rob shouting derogatory names (and I mean some really cold ones for black people), Rob threatening to post a bad Yelp review against us (although he never hired us for service so hopefully Yelp will sift that out before posting), Rob flushing the toilet. He eventually returned me the payment but threatened to press charges if I contact him again - why would I do that? read more
