I liked all four beers in my flight, including a stout, a sour and two IPAs. The guy working there was great - we swapped stories about the trials and tribulations of being left handed.

Wandering Hop has highly creative and interesting beers which is something I always have my eye on for. Here they have milkshake beer which isn't exactly like beer and ice cream together but a kind of beer with a nice smooth flavor to it. I got Destination Home here which is a milkshake IPA which I really fell in love with. The beer was so awesome I could have ordered another or something completely different... I'm sure I would have like it... like the cream pepper beer for instance. But I controlled myself and just got the one since we were on a sampling tour of breweries we haven't visited yet so we moved on. On my latest visit Wandering Hop easily won out on which brewery I enjoyed most.

Now, I'm unclear whether Hop Capitol is the new brewery where previously Yakima Craft Brewing was or if a new name or they are both the same. Sampled their sours and was immediately captivated by their guava sour. Guava, a tropical fruit has a mellow sweet and fragrant taste, balances the sour very well. Took back a growler of that and enjoyed it the next day in the historic 100F weather in Seattle. Great brewery and recommended!

So.....the entire crew at the kiln talk shit about the patrons paying their wages. Like going to a barber who talks lies behind your back. Or better yet.....a little baby's sandbox. They have easy access to a variety of quality ingredients to work their craft and it shows! I really didn't expect to find such an active beer and food scene in eastern Washington scene but I was really impressed. The Berchman's Brewing company is a good representative. The small tap room is rustic and warm. You are greeted here by family and the passion for the beer is clear. You can take your time here, talk, and taste the excellent products. I am personally a fan of stouts and dark beers and so I had their excellent "Dark Pony" a dark chocolate coffee stout. Meanwhile my partner had a four beer taster. Double IPA, pale ale, pilsner fan should all be happy here, The taproom is decorated with simple chalk drawing done with humour. Nice service, nice beer, nice ambiance, a sure bet to have a nice time in downtown Yakima. A reason to stop or even to make the town a destination.
