Two electricians arrived at my home and I was happy they arrived early. They looked at my kitchen light and noticed nothing was wrong with the wire or power. The issues was the branch made by the manufacturer and advised to purchase a new light fixture to save money. They purchased the new breaker at Home Depot and made the repairs very quickly. Valiant had the lowest estimate by far (about $1k lower than other electricians), which would normally be a red flag, but because I was 98% confident that this job was much simpler than the bids I was getting I went with them. In other words, bonus points to Valiant for correctly assessing the job via my description and photos. The job was to replace a 240 receptacle with two 120 receptacles and put them on separate breaker circuits. Parts would be new 20A breakers and two GFCI receptacles. Job would definitely take less than an hour. Valiant did exactly that! They were able to show up on relatively short notice and banged the job out in short order. Additionally, the two person crew were super friendly and professional (and were always masked up in my presence). They explained everything very clearly and offered many opportunities to hear my questions. I'd def use these folks again and recommend them for sure. read more

From the first, booking Valiant was great. John (the manager) was very communicative and immediately provided some time slots and an estimate, and sent a reminder through Yelp the day before the electricians came. The electricians Bill and John were so efficient, thorough and courteous. They came early, were wearing masks and super respectful. I asked them to come and change a socket at the back of our garden which doesn't work. When they needed to test the breaker, Bill called me on my phone to make sure that they could turn off power. I asked them to wait for a break in our call schedule (we are all working from home and on Zoom calls all the time) and they figured out which circuits they could turn off safely so it would not affect our internet router. After they were done, they explained to me what they had done and showed me the part they had replaced. They also asked me if I had any questions. We hired John and his team to do a new kitchen backsplash but I explained that it would need to be done carefully (expensive Muir marble backsplash) and properly, with the re-patching of the dry wall from ripping out the old backsplash, proper caulking, proper sealing near the kitchen sink, being careful with the electrical outlets and making sure that the brand new cabinets were properly covered to insure they weren't scuffed. John assured us that all of this would be taken care. Here are the photos of the work John's team did and he had the audacity to tell me it was done "professionally" when clearly the sloppy and unprofessional work speaks for itself. Broken pieces, all electrical outlets left completely crooked, caulking was messy, uneven areas, left hanging wires...etc. It was a nightmare and I was shocked John asked me for payment with all these issues/unfinished work. He kept promising he would make things right and that customer satisfaction was top priority and not to worry but ultimately he kept making excuses and didn't make things right. I'd respect a company who owns up to and accepts mistakes, and takes accountability but his refusal to do so and then promising me a "nice discount" and not following through with that either, has pushed me to the point where I will need to move forward with legal action. So please be aware and don't get taken advantage of. read more
