Love the Pub and Grub! We make the 7+ hour trip up to Ashland/Bayfield/Washburn from Iowa a few times a year for vacation. Love the area. Valhalla continues to be a winner. The service and food is consistently great. Its location is cool - in the middle of the woods. It's comfortable and pretty inside. You're not squished together. The dining room is large and they have a party room they can open up. There's also a large bar on the other end of the building and a patio area. They usually have several specials on the chalk board. I usually get the 1/2 rack of ribs. They are FANTASTIC. Super tender and the sauce is great. I've also had their chicken wings - great! On our most recent trip (the last week and a half) - I had the ribeye special with the loaded baked potato and coleslaw. It was cooked perfectly and super tasty. I left a few toppings off my loaded potato - l had butter, bacon and grilled onions. It was fluffy and delish. They have a nice menu. You can ride your ATV or snow mobile right up to the building or your John Deere tractor (like a customer had when we were visiting ). Tons of Forest service roads/trails all around the area. The bathrooms are clean and accessible. Great food, great owner, great staff - hard working people wanting their customers to have a great experience. read more

Stayed at an airbnb about a half a mile from here and this spot was recommended by our hosts. It's a good spot for dinner and maybe a drink or two. We entered the dining side (there's a bar side and dining room side) which is set up like a basic food hall (so, not a lot of ambiance). We were seated right away and drink ordered taken. We began the evening with whiskey old fashioned cocktails, which were made in the Wisconsin tradition and were good. They have different featured entrees every night they're open in addition to nightly specials. I opted for one of their nightly specials, which was coconut shrimp. The shrimp was ample with several large shrimp lightly coconut breaded and fried. They were delightful. For my side, I got the loaded baked potato (minus bacon) which was cheesy deliciousness. The service was prompt and friendly, though she did get a little bogged down when it came time to pay so we had to go find her (we were on a bit of a schedule with somewhere to be), If you're looking for ample portions at reasonable prices--this is your spot! read more

So glad we found this gem! The place is really nice and clean, we love sitting outside too on a beautiful day. The employees are kind and fast. Chili- has great taste and it's made with a ton of great veggies, unlike most chili's. I loved the warm roll that it comes with it too. Bloody Mary- delicious, one of my favorites I've ever had! Came with a hard boiled egg, meat stick, pickle, pickled mushroom and olives. Don't forget that side of beer! Prime rib burger (Sunday's only)- I am still thinking about this burger! They have prime rib nights on Saturday. So then on Sunday, they use leftover prime rib to top on a beef patty with cheese. You get a side of au jus to dip your burger with and a big potion of fries. I am coming back for this burger on Sundays, it's absolutely delicious! Salads- I also have gotten a side salad and it's a really nice portion, not tiny like most places serve. Stopped in mid-day after snowmobiling. The people at the distillery we went to recommended we stop in off the trail for a hot meal. It was perfectly located off of the trail. Plenty of parking for our sleds they even have a place to hang helmets and gear inside the door. This place is huge and nice and warm inside. The bartender/waitress was extremely friendly and got us our drinks/food ordered quickly. I decided on a diet coke for the caffeine and chili with a side of fries. The roll that came with my chili was the star of my meal. I loved the bread paired with the chili. The portion of chili was huge and filled up my empty belly well. The chili itself was okay I was not a big fan of the giant chunks of tomato. The fries were labeled hand cut (which they were not) but they were still tasty. Bathrooms nice and clean and plenty to watch on the TV in the bar area. Highly recommend a stop if snowmobiling in the area! read more

We are staying in Bayfield for a couple of days. We were looking for a place to have prime rib on Saturday night. Unfortunately we didn't find this gem until Sunday but I must say it was absolutely delicious. The food was amazing, the service was fantastic and I'd drive an hour to get a meal as wonderful as this was. We had the Sunday special which was a 12 oz ribeye and 3 shrimp. Best stop on the trail for snowmobiles, atvs' and car traffic. Food is always wonderful whether, steak, burger or ribs. Fish is wonderful if Brian is the chef. Gas and oil available, but expensive. The food is reasonable. read more

This place is hard to find from the ATV trails, but once there, we received great service and the food was outstanding. The 1/2 lb. cheeseburger is the BEST I've EVER eaten...fries were VERY good and the cheese curds were great too!! I highly recommend this place for lunch or supper! read more
