Healthy heart breakfast with sweet Nikkis

Second day of Little Nikki's breakfasts, yes-we love it that much! Today we chose smaller breakfast entrees because there is just so much wonderful food!

Big bar and dining area, great food, extensive menu with choices for all - incl. pizzas, homemade quinoa and black bean sliders, super crunchy house made potato chips, great fried cheese curds, homemade spicy sauce and BBQ sauce. Multiple TVs have you covered for Packers and Brewers games. Friendly staff and good service. A gem!

    Fried fish with potatoes

We were drawn here after reading other Yelp reviews. We were not disappointed with our food however the service was a little "off". My husband and I both had the fish dinner (fried whitefish) and it was delicious. Their salad bar was a little lacking but that wasn't the star of our meal. Overall it was good but I'm not sure the drive from Ashland would have merited a visit. Enjoy!

    Curds and beer!

Previously Fish Lipps. Attentive waitstaff, great beer selection, gluten free options. Fish fry was awesome--whitefish or trout that was swimming in Lake Superior hours before, hand cut potato wedges, homemade slaw. The batter fried cheese curds was pleasantly light and let the cheese shine through. Great cozy, local "up north" feel without making out of towners feel out of place.

While the patio is dog-friendly, you have to go inside to the bar to order your drinks and food and dogs aren't allowed in there. So, if you're traveling solo with your dog, be aware of this. I just left the car locked and running while I went in to order, put my placard down on a table outside, then went and grabbed the pup from the car. The Caesar Salad with chicken was lovely and had nice, crisp greens - not just the light colored watery lettuce, this had the medium and dark green goodness too. Still a little bland tasting, but it is a nice size and I ate the whole thing. The chicken on top of it was warm and freshly cooked, and absolutely delicious. I shared a piece of chicken and some lettuce with my pup and he likewise approved. It was a warm sunny day, so I ordered a Kentucky Mule to go along with my salad. Staff was a little busy with tables inside (lots of children at one table) so they forgot about my drink sitting on the bar. It came out just after my salad, so I just decided to make it my dessert instead of my appetizer :) Friendly staff and good food. If you're out this way, why not stop in and enjoy for yourself?

Clean and "modern" although decorated as a hunting lodge replete with taxidermied heads of deer and bear. Very friendly staff. The menu had changed substantially from October 2024. Husband had the bourbon bacon burger on ciabatta with onion rigns and he ate every last crumb. It looked delicious. I had the fish tacos, which they are evidently known for. However they were out of whitefish that day so substituted trout with my approval. They were OK, the fine breading was a little tough and there was way too much fish on each tortilla. I wasted over half of the fish. Three huge tacos was too many, I would in retrospect suggest a choice of one, two or three. The slaw was not pineapple slaw as listed but still tasty. The french fries were hot and crispy, I am a french fry lover. We'll be back next visit.

The service and food is consistently great. Its location is cool - in the middle of the woods. It's comfortable and pretty inside. You're not squished together. The dining room is large and they have a party room they can open up. There's also a large bar on the other end of the building and a patio area. They usually have several specials on the chalk board. I usually get the 1/2 rack of ribs. They are FANTASTIC. Super tender and the sauce is great. I've also had their chicken wings - great! On our most recent trip (the last week and a half) - I had the ribeye special with the loaded baked potato and coleslaw. It was cooked perfectly and super tasty. I left a few toppings off my loaded potato - l had butter, bacon and grilled onions. It was fluffy and delish. They have a nice menu. You can ride your ATV or snow mobile right up to the building or your John Deere tractor (like a customer had when we were visiting ). Tons of Forest service roads/trails all around the area. The bathrooms are clean and accessible. Great food, great owner, great staff - hard working people wanting their customers to have a great experience.

Patsy's serves up some delicious eats and their patio? All blooming, shaded loveliness. The first thing to note is that if you're dining on the patio, you'll want to run inside and grab some menus. You'll order at the bar. For my dinner I ordered their patty melt served on marbled rye, which was everything a patty melt ought to be (so good!). For my side, I opted for the onion rings which were battered (I prefer this over breaded) and perfectly crispy. Zero complaints on the pub grubtastic food. I also ordered an whiskey old fashioned, which was prepared in the Wisconsin style and was great. The service was also lovely. When I was ordering, the gentleman in front of me explained that he had been coming here for 30 years and it's the same guy behind the bar--amazing. Also, I totally accidentally left my purse on the patio (I only had one drink--just a complete oopsie moment). I didn't realize until the next morning. When I called, they had it stashed behind the bar for me and I was even able to pick it up prior to their opening. Really, above-and-beyond lovely folks working here. Get to it!
