Had a great time at Fat Radish during our Labor Day trek to Bayfield County!…read more The Friday All You Can Eat Fish Fry was excellent (for only $16?!!!!), as both the whitefish and trout were fresh and well breaded, the included potatoes and green beans were well seasoned, and the salad was cold and refreshing. My partner's Lake Superior Fish Tacos ($12) were also excellent, with the only regret that they weren't more of them. Finally, the service was excellent: we wanted to catch the sunset at the Cornucopia Beach and they rushed an order of trout out to us so we could make it. The combo of great food, excellent price and outstanding service make Fat Radish a definite must visit in Bayfield County.

We went here for the first time and definitely will return again…read more Good food. I had the typical Friday fish fry, which included a baked potato. I get tired of French fries and the baked potato was an excellent change up. The tasty white fish was a good size filet. The coleslaw was a light vinegar style. Even the roll was good. My wife had the lamb stew and that was fabulous. I was able to snatch a couple bites, but she loved it and finished this hearty dish. Good old fashions. We split a pumpkin cake. Sarah was our server and did a fantastic job. Very delightful. You can tell she likes working there which is always a bonus for the atmosphere if the staff enjoys it. We ate at a table in the bar. Very upnorth Wisconsin vibe. The Herbster beach is just down the street. Great apres-dinner walk. A gem of a restaurant. Worth the 35 minute drive. Save me a table.

While the patio is dog-friendly, you have to go inside to the bar to order your drinks and food and dogs aren't allowed in there. So, if you're traveling solo with your dog, be aware of this. I just left the car locked and running while I went in to order, put my placard down on a table outside, then went and grabbed the pup from the car. The Caesar Salad with chicken was lovely and had nice, crisp greens - not just the light colored watery lettuce, this had the medium and dark green goodness too. Still a little bland tasting, but it is a nice size and I ate the whole thing. The chicken on top of it was warm and freshly cooked, and absolutely delicious. I shared a piece of chicken and some lettuce with my pup and he likewise approved. It was a warm sunny day, so I ordered a Kentucky Mule to go along with my salad. Staff was a little busy with tables inside (lots of children at one table) so they forgot about my drink sitting on the bar. It came out just after my salad, so I just decided to make it my dessert instead of my appetizer :) Friendly staff and good food. If you're out this way, why not stop in and enjoy for yourself?

Visited Deepwater Grill at about 7:30 on a Friday evening. We waited about 5 minutes to be seated,…read morebut then waited a good 15 minutes before our server arrived to take drink orders. We came specifically for the Friday night Fish Fry, which comes with one side, and they were out of two of them (our first and second choices, unfortunately). I ended up ordering Beer Battered Fish with Rice Pilaf, and the other two at the table ordered Deep Fried Fish with Waffle Fries. It was 8:17 before our order came out - a full 45 minutes after we arrived. The Rice Pilaf was barely warm and flavorless. I only ate one bite of it (1/10) but the fish was excellent (9/10). The fish portion was large - I could only eat half, and took the other half of the fish to go. I left the rice. I asked about dessert to go, and neither of the cheesecakes on the menu were available, but the server said they had some chocolate peanut butter cheesecake, which wasn't listed anywhere. I got that and had a few bites before putting it in the fridge - it was ok, but nothing special (5/10). I'm not sure I'll even finish it, and that's saying something because cheesecake is my favorite dessert. Ambiance was dark and kind of dingy. Things needed to be dusted and wiped down. It felt like there was a sticky layer of grease on them (chairs, columns, table edges, etc.). Would probably go back and give them another shot, but would likely try a weekday when it's not so busy and all menu items are available. Overall 6/10
