I've never been to either of these but both were equally close to my work. I called early AM, explained I had a slow leak in my front tire and asked when would be a good time to come in/if they had time available today. They did and asked that I call back between 1-2 to let them know when I planned on coming. I did just that, zipped on over and was out in no time. They had to take my tire off and seal the tire to the rim. I walked out paying $25.36 or $26.35. Either way, worth it.

Monro ended up winning mostly because I found a coupon for a $15 oil change on their website and that is ridiculous. There was an option to make reservations online but I just went in day of because my car was probably going to break down if I didn't take it in immediately. In short, I loved it and here is why: 1. They took me right away even though I didn't make an appointment 2. Gave me an estimation of 45 minutes and I think it took 30. 3. This location is right by bay shore mall so you can shop while you wait 4. Did not try to up sale me anything 5. Final cost was $19---I don't know the last time I paid that little I'll be back.

In one visit for…read morean oil change and brake inspection: - Tire lugs were tightened to approx. double the recommended torque, making it impossible to, for example, change a flat on the road. I broke a torque wrench rated at twice the torque the lugs were supposed to be tightened. This is the 2nd time they've done this to my car, and I told them about it the 1st time, too. - They recommended replacing 2 rear brake caliper because the handbrake was sticking. $1300 estimate. When asked if the caliper cylinders could be lubed, they had no other recommendations and insisted this was what it needed. Turns out that one of the caliper cylinders needed lubricating. Took me and my wife 15 minutes to fix it with a tiny squirt of WD-40. Works like new! Might fail again, but it's not a critical component, and we'll deal with it again then. - Recommended replacing the aging serpentine belt. I reminded them they'd replaced it 18 months ago. Whoops. An apology and "it has a couple little cracks in it, but that's normal and it should last a long time." I took a look: not a crack to be found. - They forgot to put the wheel lug caps (VWs come with black plastic caps) back on after removing the wheels for the brake inspection. When I called them about it, they'd lost some. They did order a 5-pack to replace the lost ones, so that was fixed. The real value I find in a car shop is knowing that they will recommend both the big fix, and the temporary one -- for when it's just not in our budget! And that I'm never being scammed.

My vehicle was making a noise that was indicative of valve roller rocker wear. Quite common on older Chrysler 3.6 L Pentastar engines. The repair facility I usually go to told me they do not perform this type of work. So I closed my eyes and threw a dart at my local yellow pages and it landed on Manyo motors. And I'm glad it did. I reached out to Dave Manyo and made an appointment. After diagnosing the issue, it turns out that the valve train was not the issue, but a broken flywheel. After replacing the flywheel - and performing additional work I had requested, I picked my van up on the day he promised. Dave produced the broken and cracked flywheel for my inspection. I told him to keep it for his collection of broken flywheels proudly displayed as art on his wall behind his desk. Thank you to Dave and his competent staff for their professionalism and expertise in repairing my vehicle. .....and as Arnold famously once said in the Terminator "I'll be back!!"

I have a lifted Jeep Wrangler, and I had used tires that were in rough shape and couldn't be repaired. Keith gave me some tips on what to order for replacements, but a few days after getting the job done my brakes went out (I knew they were ready to go at any time). I crawled under to inspect and saw that one of my new tires was rubbing a coil and there was a deep groove in the sidewall. I was upset. These were expensive tires, but there is no easy answer. My vehicle is modified, so this wasn't a standard job. I'd hope the shop would check, but it is partially on me for not knowing my vehicle well enough. Really, this could have happened at any shop. I dropped it back off and Keith called and left me a message. He said it should have been checked for the rub and he was willing to eat the cost of the tire. I was impressed with his honest response. I was happy to have them work on my brakes while adding new spacers to the jeep along with a replacement tire.
