What can you say about this place? Not much. It's a gas station on the North Side that has the…read morebasic needs that you can find at a gas station. It could quite possibly be the busiest gas station in the city. There is a constant flow of people coming and going. At the current time the inside is undergoing a remodel. Changing over to a 7-Eleven convenience store on the inside. Most Sunoco's, if not all of them, are dropping their chain of convenience stores and being replaced with 7-Eleven's. Customer service could use a little fine tuning here. A smile goes a long way.

Well, here I am, writing a review on a gas station. Yep. And this one's just fine, I suppose. It's…read morea little bigger than the ones near my house, which I can NEVER find an empty pump at before sunset, it seems; at least here when there's a line the wait seems shorter. And since this one is right up the street from work, it's a great and often necessary pit stop before I head out for an enjoyable night in the 'Burgh. Have to say, though, I hate the stupid TVs by the gas pumps here. I just find them to be aggravating and an unnecessary noisy addition to the area. I used to pick up a cookie and/or a drink once I'd managed to brave the rush hour crowd and get my tank of gas. The snack and drink selection is pretty reasonable, but hey, it's gas station stuff so it's not going to be extraordinary. I've never eaten their hot dogs or wrapped sandwiches so I can't comment on those. I do kind of wish the lines to the registers weren't so slow here. I said I used to pick things up here because I've started avoiding coming in, just to avoid the slow lines. So hey, not exceptional but there's nothing here that makes me say risk running on fumes until you find another gas station, either. Its location and its proximity to my work office definitely helps me overlook the cons of the place. And hey, at the end of the day a Sunoco is a Sunoco.

I live in Midtown Towers and this location makes up part of the ground floor so I visit it…read morefrequently. As Midtown Towers doesn't have parking and I don't have a car, grocery shopping is difficult for me and I end up using Seven-11 and CVS far more than I should. The main thing I buy here is pizza. 2 for $9.99 is hard to beat, and if you get them raw to cook at home you can even pay with SNAP. The buffalo chicken is a bit hot for my taste and the cheese is too plain. I get the meat or sometimes the pepperoni. They're all $5.99 or 2 for $9.99. I buy almost everything else at CVS as it's usually cheaper there. But if I'm jonesing for soda after 7 pm, or if CVS doesn't have any on sale that week, I'll buy Coke products at Seven-11 at 2 for $3.33. Not a great price, but a lot better than the nearly $2 CVS charges off sale. The employees are almost always pleasant and helpful but they seem to lack support from the owner with regard to keeping stuff in stock and having sufficient staff for busy periods.

No really - this place has started to treat every paying customer as if they're a criminal. I…read moreunderstand that this area has a lot of undesired activities going on due to the nature of the location but having ridiculous policies and using hired security to enforce them is NOT THE ANSWER. Apparently, no one is allowed to use their cell phone while shopping. That is the newest mandate imposed by this location. God forbid you answer a call or text before you pour your cup of (overpriced) coffee. You will be approached. I swear it felt like an old western saloon scene where the sheriff saw me "breaking the rules" and had to come down and give me a passive aggressive talking to. Disclaimer - most of the clerk staff - they are very helpful and totally cool. But the general manager/owner is another story all together. If she has not yet been sued for harassment - that would be a shock. I feel bad for the staff who has to enforce her whimsical policies. She is obviously at her wit's end if there ever was a beginning. Hitler and Goebbles would have been proud of her determination and use of propaganda though. If you decide this place has everything you are looking for in a convenience store - have your papers ready!
