Its businesses include a…read moreSunoco gas station, 7-Eleven convenience store, Burger King restaurant, Auntie Anne's restaurant, and Starbucks restaurant. It also has an Apple Green desk, and its sign said that customers could "order ahead, pick up and go." Other amenities are an ATM, restrooms, lots of tables and chairs, information for tourists, etcetera. During my visit on a Sunday morning, I thought that the building and grounds looked to be in good condition. My husband purchased gasoline at the Sunoco. We browsed the products in the 7-Eleven but did not like their snacks and beverages. The Auntie Anne's did not appear to be open, but the Burger King and Starbucks were. I used the women's restroom, and it had lots of available stalls that were fairly clean.

Every so often on my ventures to work I will take the Turnpike. I rarely stop at the service plazas…read morebut without realizing I needed gas I had to make a stop of be stuck along the side of the highway. My initial need here was fuel. I made my way there and then decided to make my way inside. What I can say about this area is that even though this service plaza is newer, it was poorly designed and poorly enforced on where vehicles can park. Inside, it almost looks deserted given the time you stop here. It looks underutilized and almost gives off a dead mall vibe when you walk in. Like every possible business was like, "Nah, I'm out." It also gives off a bit of a dirty feel to it as well. Like it wasn't properly cleaned in a while. The bathrooms have a smell to them. The dining area looks as if there is a film on tables, and it is so dim inside.

This Sunoco is located at the Oakmont Plum Service Plaza. For years, my husband and I have stopped at this Sunoco to fill up the gas tank for our vehicle when we are traveling toward the Southeast of Pittsburgh. This Sunoco is conveniently located right off I-76. During our most recent visit, multiple gas pumps were open, so we did not have to wait. The prices for gas were roughly similar to what competing gas stations charge. The gas pump took a usual amount of time to fill up our tank. We experienced no problems at all with the fuel selection, pump, or payment.

For all intents and purposes this serves its purpose. Albeit in an awkward way. The Sunoco is…read morelocated near the entrance back onto the turnpike and can create a bottleneck for traffic. What's interesting is the way the pumps are situated. Loads of trucks like to park on the one end of the station and nearly block the pumps. However, dependent on where your tank sits on your vehicle will dictate where you need to pull up to the pump. Because of this, my tank is on the driver's side. Every single pump, if you want one where you pull into the station was taken. So I had to go around and face the opposite direction of the flow of traffic. I even had a trucker roll down his window and chastise me for doing this. Listen buddy, this isn't Costco or Sam's Club, there are not signs saying I can't do this. Not the best on pricing. Turnpike gas prices are a few cents higher than when you have options. Being the only option on a limited access highway you don't have much room to complain. Just make it easier to use and enforce where vehicles can park.

I ordered from here on GrubHub and I believe I was charged double what I would have been charged in the store. Since the business prefers to hide everything from customers, I'm not able to do any type of comparison. I'll visit the location and determine if we're being price gouged by the business or the delivery service. I ordered 2 full sized subs and the food was a disappointment. The bread, I will admit, was soft and fresh. The insides were a bare minimum of what could be considered a sandwich. There were a few very thin sliced pieces of meat. There were decent slices of cheese, but they eliminated any meat flavor. There was a single piece of lettuce laid on top. That was it. I had no other options offered with the on line ordering. I certainly did not expect a sandwich with a tiny amount of meat, cheese and no vegetables other than a single piece of lettuce. No onions, tomato, or any other vegetables. I was also offered no condiments. I had to rip off half of the bread just to make it somewhat edible. I had heard some good things about the food, but I did not find that to be the case. With a Sheetz right up the street, I would think they'd try a little harder.

This one is a bit easier to get into now since they tore down the old building and replaced it with this brand new behemoth of a store. Mores pumps, lots of room to navigate to a parking space.
