Ube malasada
Roxanne E.

Valerio's has a variety of Filipino desserts that give me that comfort of being at home with my parents. I've tried a variety of the desserts. Ube Buchi is delicious, especially when it's fresh! It is a deep fried sesame ball filled with an Ube paste. It's chewy and crunchy. I could taste the Ube filling which is always a plus! Karioka is also delicious! It's 3 large mochi balls coated with brown sugar on a stick. It's also crunch and chewy! Ube Pandesal with cheese is yummy! I suggest putting it in the microwave for 10 seconds for the cheese to melt in the Ube bread. You can't really taste the Ube, but the texture of the bread and the cheese is on point. Ube Malasadas is what my fiancé and I recently had. It's a sugar deep fried donut with a an Ube cream filling. The donut itself was very good! It was soft, chewy and moist. As I bit into the Ube malasada, I could not taste the Ube filling. It tasted like a light, oily whipped cream. Overall, this place is is great if you're craving some Filipino desserts! I definitely will be back to taste the other desserts that they have!

I devoured crème brûlée pastry. That danish was not like any danish! The crunchiness and the filling all worked together to create an amazing crème brûlée taste! I could have had another one. My husband really love the chocolate tart. It wasn't overly sweet or too rich! I also like the other vanilla pastry as well. All were so delicious. This place never disappoints. We go to Paris frequently and these pastries meet the bar! Ambiance is casual if you go in and service is pretty consistent from the last time I remember.

Lobster croissant $29...overdressed, very soggy (dripping with dressing). And topped off with more aioli making it soggy and mushy. Meat tasted rubbery and over cooked. Disappointed. Ordered "iced" double espresso, came out hot. Raspberry-blueberry tart was fine... Price listed $8.95, but price came out $9.25 on the check. Need to update prices to match. Overall bill was $52.35. Sand which not worth it. Servers was nice, but not familiar with menu, and didn't realize she made the coffee incorrectly. Love supporting local business, place has potential... Will give it another go.... may have been an off day for them (looks like they were doing an inspection, so could have thrown them off their game)

We ordered the Ube Cake online, and the slice hit the spot perfectly. The cake looked beautiful - nice tall layers of soft, moist purple ube sponge cake with thick white cream filling, a creamy yellow custard-style center, and finished with whipped cream on top. The ube flavor was well-balanced: that signature nutty, earthy sweetness without being overly sweet. I've had great home-cooked Filipino ube desserts before. While this is clearly a fusion bakery version, it still captured the comforting, celebratory vibe that ube brings to Filipino tables. It reminded me of the festive sweets you'd find at family gatherings or parties back in my wifes home country. The online ordering was convenient, but the pickup instructions could have been better. The pickup area is on the same side as the drink pickup, which caused a little confusion during a busy time. Service was otherwise fast and friendly, the bakery was clean and well-stocked, and prices are reasonable for the portion size. If you're in the Henderson/Las Vegas area and looking for a quick ube fix or any of their other Asian- and Filipino-inspired pastries, this spot is worth a stop. The ube cake was definitely the highlight for me. Would definitely grab another slice next time I'm craving something purple and delicious!

We ordered two cappuccinos, a mocha, two Berries crepes, and the Short Rib Sandwich. The cappuccinos were perfectly balanced with rich espresso and silky foam, while the mocha was smooth, chocolatey, and not overly sweet. The Berries crepes were incredible -- topped with fresh berries, wild berry sauce, and whipped cream, light yet indulgent at the same time. The Short Rib Sandwich completely stole the show: tender braised short rib with Gruyère cheese, Dijon mayo, and arugula tossed in citrus sauce on warm ciabatta. Every bite tasted fresh and thoughtfully prepared. Even with the Mother's Day rush, the atmosphere still felt warm and charming, like a little French café tucked away in Henderson. You could tell the staff was hustling nonstop, but the food and experience never suffered. This place lives up to the hype and then some. We'll definitely be back.

The decor inside is charming, and the set-up is pretty casual - you order at the counter and they bring your food out to you. We came on a weekday morning and the service was quick. Good amount of indoor seating, and plenty of parking in the square. We were interested in the short rib shakshouka, but unfortunately they were out when we visited! Decided to go for a prosciutto sandwich instead, along with a latte and almond croissant. Prosciutto Sandwich ($15.99, 4.5/5) - Big fan of the bread they use here! - Flavors were light and fresh - Good portion size for the price Latte ($5.99, 5/5) - Solid latte, paired well with the almond croissant. Almond croissant ($6.25, 4.5/5) - Nice crunch on the outside, topped with almond slices - Almond filling with just the right consistency. A little on the sweeter side, but worked out well with our coffee to balance it out. Overall, had a great time at Cafe Du Val and would definitely come back again to try other items on the menu!

Today was the first time I dined in, with a friend for lunch. Um....YUMMY!!! I ordered a bowl with chicken skewer and upgraded the fried to feta fries. SO good! The chicken was tender, not dried around the edges and came off the skewer nicely. The fries are so good - definitely too messy to be considered finger food but the sauce makes using a fork 100% worth the effort. The pita bread was the perfect level of crispy on the outside while remaining warm and tender on the inside. I could eat a giant stack of those tasty triangles! My friend ordered the shrimp wrap, which he said was good but too spicy for his liking (his words: "it has a kick to it") which was not noted on the menu so diners may want to ask in advance if you're ordering something different than the norm.
