I live in the Valley 5 months a year with the remainder of the year in Austin. My primary physician is in Austin. Vail Valley Pharmacy has been extremely helpful transferring prescriptions back and forth. I highly recommend them should you have any Pharmacy needs even if the doctor is out of state. read more

Enough is enough, guys. I'm in from out of town and had an emergency Wednesday evening. I tried calling Wednesday but they had already closed for the holiday at 5. Totally understand that but...I called this morning (Friday) once they were supposed to open but their phones were completely off when they were supposed to be open. I tried again this afternoon and someone put me on an interminable hold and no one ever came to the phone. Where I am from no pharmacy ever closes-these guys should consider themselves lucky and provide the best customer service possible when they come back from a break. Been coming to this pharmacy for years and it's been great. I can not say that anymore. Because of an insurance change( that I never knew about) this pharmacy will not fill my normal prescription that they have filled for over a year and half. I called and spoke with the owner Bruce. He told me that they would not fill my prescription because of the new billing way, not that they can't fill it but won't because they no longer make money off filling this prescription . This is a medication that I have to take every 8 hrs or I will end up in Emergency Room. I find it hard to believe that I place I've been coming to loyally for so long is willing to refuse my prescription over money when it will land me in the hospital. I even asked just to fill it one more time till I could figure why it's changed. Since I only have 2 days left. Guess the money is more important than my healthcare. Even when they made double off the refill for a year and a half. Plus you would think as a good business owner would realize that you could get the rest of my prescriptions for life for being a good human and part of the community. read more

The lady working there was not super friendly, we asked for help in finding some vail/ beaver creek items. She didn't offer anything---we found what we needed in a gift shop and n that very strip center! read more

first time getting a prescription filled here. I waited 30 min after it was called in to go and get it. When i arrived i was told they were making it and to come back in a few hours. I returned the next day before heading out of town for the weekend and they still had not finished it! I was told they called me to ask if i wanted it made or not but i never received such a call and no voicemail was left if they did. I was then told i could wait an hour for them to make it but i didn't have time to wait as i was stopping on my way out of town. Now i have to go the weekend with out my medication. I'm extremely disappointed with this pharmacy, why would I call in a prescription and even try and come pick it up on two separate occasions if I didn't want it made?? read more

Vail Valley simply has the best service I have ever received in a pharmacy. I had just moved to Edwards the day prior and needed to transfer Rx's from 2 pharmacies and I needed one right away. Without delay, they contacted both pharmacies and had my Rx's transferred and called me when my urgent Rx was ready. I truly felt like Kent cared about my health needs and I was delighted to meet him and his wife Cortney who is equally as wonderful. It's not often that I meet people who care and put forth so much time to get to know their customers; they have taken the Corporate out of getting your Rx and kept the efficiency. I looked around for a pharmacy that had a homey feel and found Vail Valley Pharmacy. It's a nice change as the pharmacy inside most large chain stores is stuck in a corner and staffed with people who seem simply like clerks. At the Vail Valley Pharmacy this afternoon, I'd asked a few questions and was pleased the pharmacist remembered my prescription, my insurance and me myself. I'd had issues with my insurance once before. I was heartened at that time that the pharmacist complimented my physician which confirms my team is cream of the crop. The solution was one only a consummate expert would know. Last month I went to a different pharmacy (inside a big store) because it seemed more convenient at the time. But not. It took a long time to transfer it and fill it, not to mention there was a very long line to pick it up when it was ready. And after all that, I got the wrong thing even though they had the label from the right one. I didn't think to look before I left the store because my prescription isn't that complicated. When I called they said sorry but they'd be unable to get the right one even though I was was able to wait for them to order it. Needless to say, I transferred my prescription back to Vail Valley Pharmacy and I'm happy I did. read more
