I went to Dr. Vaidya for an ear problem and am glad to have chosen him (based largely on Yelp reviews). They have you arrive 1/2 hour before your appointment, but there was no wait for the doctor; when he finished his previous appointment, he actually took me a bit early. His assistant, Michelle, was nice and helpful and completed my form with me, which was so much better and faster. Dr. Vaidya was personable and had the kind of approach to health problems that I always hope for in a doctor. He was easy to talk to, listened to my symptoms, and asked questions that helped jog my memory about a symptom I'd forgotten to mention. I always want my doctor to be something like a detective, talking about what might be causing the symptoms and explaining the solutions they're considering. Dr. Vaidya did that and was open to my questions and comments. I was also impressed that he had a preliminary diagnosis and recommendation, but as we talked further, he reconsidered and did a test he'd initially decided against but felt had merit after all. It showed an additional hard-to-identify problem. He prescribed treatment and said he'd see me for a follow-up in two months--all done in an efficient, but also pleasant and relaxed, way. We really wanted to see Dr Abhay and can't seem to get a call back after multiple voice mails... if you guys are too busy to accept new patients then you should say so in the voicemail. What a great experience. Dr. Vaidya and his assistant, Yvette, are both amazing. I drove to Thousand Oaks from Pasadena (very long way) and am so happy that I did. The drive was well worth it. I needed a 5th opinion as to whether my 16 year old son was tongue-tied. Dr. Vaidya was one of the few doctors who seem to have experience with adult tongue-tie issues. The reason I saw 5th opinion was that the last several years included: a dentist saying he wasn't tongue-tied, an occupational therapist saying he was, an ENT saying he was and treating it, then another dentist saying that the ENT did not treat it completely. This is the reason I drove so far to see Dr. Vaidya. I was so tired of non-experts giving me their non-expert opinions and the toll that it was taking on my son. Here is my experience: Dr. Vaidya treated me with respect. He talked to me as if I was an intelligent woman and made room for the fact that it is sometimes emotional to be a mom trying to get services for your child. Dr. Vaidya impressed me with his knowledge of the issue. He said that my son was, indeed, tongue-tied, and that the previous procedure had not been sufficient. That being said, he suggested that we not make my son go through another painful procedure (the last one took weeks to heal) but to work with a speech therapist instead. Good wise counsel. After I left the office, two of his staff called me the same day to provide me with referrals to therapists in Pasadena where I live. They took the time to research to find the best for me. His assistant, Yvette, then called me a few days later to make sure that I had been able to make an appointment. She then called twice to make sure that the therapist had all the right paperwork. Never got the chance to see the dr because the woman I talked to on the phone was so insufferable and unhelpful when I was trying to make an appointment for my baby to be seen. I also left a voicemail for the front desk to call me back and never heard from them. Very disappointed read more

Did great work releasing my son's deep tongue tie using laser. I drove over an hour to use this place. He had the procedure done when he was just a few weeks old & now, at 13 months, is still going strong with breastfeeding. We would not have been successful at breastfeeding without this procedure. read more

The staff here is incredibly patient and helpful (the dr is very kind as well!). I was having insurance issues and ended up needing to pay out of pocket and go through insurance separately. None of course is their fault! They were understanding and attentive even with my child screaming his little head off. Thank you for your help and understanding! read more

I was referred to Dr Vaidya from our pediatrician, Dr Sharon Taylor. My son was born 5/2/18 with a lip and tongue tie. Poor little guy was having difficulty nursing and it was causing me pain and soreness in my nipples. Having any procedure done on your newborn child is scary. The office staff was welcoming and friendly and we only waited maybe 15 minutes in a full office. Dr Vaidya explained the procedure and asked if we wanted to do it. My husband and I both agreed and I went with the baby to have I done. It maybe took 5 minutes total. Yes he cried, and yes I felt bad, but he was better right away. I nursed him right after and I could already tell the difference. It was completely worth it! I will recommend Dr Vaidya to anyone with this issue! read more

I was referred to Dr. Vaidya by my lactation consultant after several weeks of struggling to successfully nurse my newborn. It was apparent to me that my son had a lip tie, but I wasn't sure about a tongue tie. The staff was friendly and I was very quickly sent to see Dr. Vaidya within minutes of entering his Thousand Oaks office. He was gentle with my son when he examined his mouth and called me over to look inside his mouth to show his tongue tie as my mother was holding him. He explained to me that the procedure to cauterize his lip and tongue tie would take just a few minutes and that he would be given to me to nurse immediately following. He explained that I'd need to do stretches in his mouth every 5-6 hours for 2-3 weeks to ensure that scar tissue wouldn't form. He then gave me time to decide if I wanted my son to have the procedure done. One of the nurses came to take my son and said they preferred that I would not be present during the procedure. I was fine with it, but some may not be. I felt comfortable as I knew someone else who saw Dr. Vaidya for her baby's ties as well. Within minutes, my son was back and began nursing like nothing ever happened. He has since healed and has gained plenty weight from successfully nursing. Mom and baby are both happy. Dr. Vaidya is slightly patronizing and doesn't take the time to read your chart or find out the whole story. He also charges for consultations. He gave me conflicting advice about my daughter and because of it I missed the ideal window to do surgery for her. Now I will have to wait about 5 years before we can address the issue again. read more
