No, I signed up years ago, it was about $8000! I chose to do it because they said I would get 2 free plane tickets to Hawaii. And I travel 2 to 3 times a year for my business and wanted to travel at least once a year for family. And Hawaii would have been great because we have family there. Well unfortunately they left out the fact we had to stay in their hotels! So I never was able to go to Hawaii because there hotels weren't even remotely close to our family. So NO FREE AIR FARE for an $8000 buy in decision. Then when I needed it for business it was the same way, no hotels close to my conventions. Then used it for a few times for personal travel. The kicker was, most the places I booked were terrible! One was so bad we couldn't even stay!!! On top of that most of the time you had to pay in advance and many no money back. I have been a Vacation Choices customer since 2011. I just went out to the http://www.vacationchoices.net website, and it has been shutdown. Received an invoice last month, but misplaced so I was going to pay online. NOT AN OPTION. From everything I have read online about this company, they are hard to contact, do not have an official office, and are no longer located at the office reflected on the contract I signed. I received a voicemail from a representative who wanted to take my maintenance fees, which are due today. When I called the number back, I got a voicemail to somebody in accounting after 8 rings. I am going to assume that they have gone out of business until I hear from them. If I do, I will hire a lawyer if they are persistent and threatening to take me collections on the maintenance fee, because in my opinion, they breached the contract I signed regarding availability for customer service, bookings, and their website. read more

As junk mail as it seemed, we received a postcard for two free RT tickets 3 days, 2 night stays in the mail. I was going to toss the thing out because lord only knows that nothing is free or without strings attached etc... BUT curiosity took over and we wanted to see what their spiel was so we called the 800 number on the card. Both of the agents were nice and gave out the information to obtain these "free tickets". So we thought we would see what the heck it was about. Heck if not something to do. They explained that we would have to attend a seminar and listen to a presentation on vacations. Ok, whatever.... why not? So we reserved a spot and they even called to confirm the day before. We checked in where the presentation was being held. The gal checking us in was quite outgoing and abundantly chipper. We got a little clip board with a questionaire about recent travels, a tent card for our names and waited for the presentation to start. I must say most of the representatives working for the company were very nice and helpful especially the gentleman shooting the breeze with us about SE Asia. He was quite informative. The presentation itself was alright. It was given by a woman who was reaching at getting the audience to interact and participate. We were one of the younger couples there. The rest all looked about retiree age 70's plus (bless their hearts) which is what the demographic seemed to be. Reminded us of the cruise we just got off. She was a pretty good speaker however a bit presumptuous. She was talking about Hawaii and asked the group whether anyone knew what the state fish of Hawaii was. She refers to me and in her mind presumes that I'm from one of the islands and that I should know. Really? She actually said that I looked polynesian (which I do) and asked me whether I knew or not. Talk about putting me on the spot. Now I'm not one of those easily offended people or one who accuses people of being racist for making the slightest innocent remark, but I sure the hell am no marine biologist. I thought it was funny. I was more suprised that she thought I would know. I'll have to brush up on my spear fishing skills. At one point when the powerpoint was going on; I felt at any minute I would hear " if you call now, we'll lower the price and you get not 1, but 2".......... I have to admit, we did learn some interesting facts about the travel industry and what products are out there, what the mark ups are etc and what their product is all about which can be found on line or at one of the seminars in case you get a post card in the mail. When it came time for the sell, our informative guy came back and seemed visibly annoyed after awhile that we didn't want to sign up for it. He was casual about it, got up and said someone else would be over in a few. Sure enough, another representative came over with the pitch. We both listened and gave our opinions and after a little while the hard sell seemed to kick in which I don't care for. They were both doing their jobs as sales people and I'm sure their product is great, cost effective etc. It just wasn't for us. They were both nice enough, and both did their best to convince us, but like I said, it just wasn't for us. They weren't rude or dismissive, but when it seems like its turning into a challenge its best for both parties to back off which is what we did. Like I already knew from attending similiar presentations. there are ALWAYS strings. Make sure to read the fine print. Whether we send away for our two "free tickets" remains to be seen. I had went to one of their presentations on the weekend and I should of looked at the trusted Yelp reviews before I even called their 1-800 number. This company (Vacation Choices) is a total SCAM. You are promised free gifts if you attend one of their meetings, but once the presentation is over they make-up all sorts of lies in offering them to you. They try to sell you a cheaper vacation alternative in bookings than your usual travel sites, but when I tried to call their offices I was never able to talk to anyone of receiving the free gifts. I was offered Mariners tickets and $100 worth of restaurant certificate on the postcard but I didn't get anything when I left. I should have demanded something before I left, but trusted that I would receive it through the mail or email as they "said." Next time I won't hesitate in throwing away those junk mail and wasting 1.5 hours listening to some lame ass presentation. Stay Away. read more

We have used vacation choices a number of times from motels to cruises. We have never had any problems with them there's always somebody there on the phone to help and I've also booked online. We received a post card offring two free round trip tickets on Southwest Airlines in exchange for listening to their sales pitch. My wife and I attended one of their seminars at a local hotel convincted we wouldn't buy anything but succumed to their sales pitch. They convinced us the airline tickets weren't such a good deal and they offered to discount our package by a thousand dollars if we didn't take the tickets. We purchased a package for about $5,000 that was good for ten years and required an annual renewal fee. Every time we have tried to use the service to get a hotel room we have found nothing available or, if something was available, it was at a price well above what we could get on our own. We have since stopped paying our annual fee and are resigned to eating the $5,000 loss. This company is a ripoff. read more

We attended the seminar with an open mind. It all sounds great if you travel 4 or 5 times a year. Not just one night trips but major week long trips. This is what you would need to do if you expect to save money with thier club AND IF IT REALLY IS USABLE. The starting price was 9999. But of course "today" it is 8999 plus 2 $1000 dollar coupons plus 2 famly memberships. There were packages down to 4999 without the extras and limited usage each year. They kept saying this is not high pressure if you do not want it, thats OK. It was anything but that. Even though I said no, and they said OK we will be right back with your 2 RT ticket coupon, they kept comming back and trying. Then as a last effort, some really creepy old guy that looks like he would sell his daughters for a buck, said we have one package we are trying to get off the books for $1900 that we have not offered anyone yet. OMG how stupid do they think we are. I knew it was a scam then. Finally, the creepy old man brought the coupon, threw it on the table and said here you go, read the fine print, most people don't make it throught that, and walked off. What a jerk and they did not even fill out their part on the coupon. Reading the fine print indicates that you have to send in 99 bucks to activate it. They stared at 9999 and offered me a package for 1900. What a joke! read more

Vacation Choices initially cost us $6,000 plus about $300 a year for over 5 years. We have never had a good experience through them and our credit cards are always compromised when we are filtered through their enormous benders. When we booked a hotel to visit grandchildren for Christmas 2019 our card Discover card was compromised by their reservation office. Discover immediately replaced the fee with a new credit card number but Vacation Choices says we have to take it up with their vendor who claims they don't have over $1,000 of our money. Discover sent us documentation but Vacation Choices reservations cancelled our reservation and no one will send us our money. We had to pay another hotel next to the one we booked through Vacation Choices and they still haven't refunded our money. read more

We went to the presentation. We bought into the club. Then we cancelled. Here's my take. We are 30-somethings with 3 elementary aged kids: Buying in: If you want to be part of this club, don't be afraid to low-ball them. They came down from an initial "buy in" of $10,000 to A LOT lower. I promised not to say how low. Sales Presentation: The product was represented _mostly_ honestly. They led us to believe that they could get better prices on every type of expenses related to travel, including car rental and air fare (and I even thought they had attraction tickets - no). But when I called the "travel advisers" after I bought in, complaining that I found flights to Orlando cheaper at other online sites than they were offering, the adviser was like - "no, we don't do any better on airfare and car rental. The best deals are cruises and resorts" (And one other category I'm forgetting - maybe hotels?). We did not experience high pressure sales. We did have several different sales people talk to us at the presentation, but they were all decent folks (we noticed one "greasy salesman" type but fortunately he did not come to talk to us). Maybe they were friendly because we were interested in buying. Products Available: After we bought in we went to the website and checked out the deals. My dad has condo time shares in Vail, CO and Big Sky, MT, so he knew the approximate cost of the condo deals for the time frames that he visits, and most of the condos in the area. I looked those up and shared them with him. He said that the options that Vacation Choices gave were the upscale resorts, but not with killer prices, just decent ones. He felt you could easy pay less for a resort that was still good quality for those weeks - and sometimes in better locations. I also had been researching Orlando deals for a family vacation, and found we could get similar housing deals online as were available at Vacation Choices - so again, no killer deals. Also, their website is difficult to navigate: it's very difficult to figure out which resorts are "kid friendly" - you have to click like 3 times to get to the details of a resort, then read the amenities, then click back out again to choose a different resort, etc. And in Orlando there were literally 100s of deals! I was so not interested in doing that kind of research. Finally, I searched for deals at places I know my family wants to visit: Wisconsin Dells, Mount Rushmore - no decent deals - Mount Rushmore just had like 3 hotels listed - I can get better deals with hotwire. The WaterPark of America had the same deals on their website as Vacation Choices offered over the phone - but it was hard to understand which room was being offered over the phone, and easy to navigate WOA's website. CANCELLING: Since it didn't seem to be a good fit for the kind of vacations we like to take, we decided to cancel. You have 10 business days to cancel. I sent a letter with their cancel form plus copies of my contract pages Certified Mail and Return Receipt requested. We bought in on a Friday night and they received the letter 2 weeks + one day later. Their paperwork said it had to be SENT within the 10 days (not received within those days) so we were within the guidelines, but we were still nervous to see if we would have to fight with them to get our money back. NO PROBLEMS. Our money was back into our account in 5 business days (the paperwork said they had 10 business days from the time they received our cancellation). We were relieved that they upheld their end of the business deal so well. SUMMARY: - I think Vacation Choices is a decent vacation club offering a service and products that are beneficial if you like to visit upscale places OFTEN, and/or take a lot of cruises. - I think they are an ethical business, with people in the phone bank/ customer service who are actually interested in helping you (you should have heard the travel adviser who helped me research the WOA deals - she tried every angle on her system - AND called me back 30 minutes later to tell me she found a better deal!) This is a club for folks who like quality travel experiences and are ok with paying the "normal" discount prices that could be available anywhere, not those of us who love Groupon and CostCo :). If you, like us, take one expensive family vacation every year or two and you look for ways to save a few bucks for each of the different expenses associated with your travel (airfare, housing, attraction tickets), it's not for you. I am pretty sure that this is a scam. I read some reviews in general on vacation clubs and only participation at the highest level turns out to be a good deal, and only then because there is a buy back option where the company will refund you for unused benefits. We attended the pitch yesterday and declined to purchase. Once we got our fee travel vouchers, we found that they make this very hard to redeem. Plus, we might end up paying up to $300 just to use the two airline tickets. I think that just doing your homework and searching for good deals is the best way to get a good price on a vacation unless you are retired and have the money to fully take advantage of this program. Many people attend these presentations for the free gift. (Vacation Choices) based out of Olympia WA know this. So why not simply give it away and be done with it, rather than alienate so many people and invite poor reviews like the one I am about to give. If not delivering on your promises is a definition of scam; then yes, Vacation Choices is a scam. I too received a postcard promising a (free) electronic tablet and $100 of free gas. As soon as the presentation started, the speaker let us all know the "certificates" for the free gift were delayed. Hmmmm? Let's see. The presentation was no doubt scheduled months in advance yet they are un-prepared? I nearly walked out at that moment. The presentation was not unlike the carnival barker. His name was "Jaz" I was expecting to hear "What would you pay now? WAIT! There's more. Act now and get these ginsu knives at no extra cost" $13,000 for membership into their (exclusive) travel club. When you finally sit down with their power closers, they are willing to do you a favor and discount it to $8,995. Don't ya' just love it when these large companies are looking out for us and so willing to do us a favor. I guess they like us. In all fairness, I suppose it's a great deal if the average American has 90 days of vacation a year. The reason I attended was because I was assured the free gifts would be there. The phone rep for Vacation Choices called to verify my attendance 1 day prior to the presentation when again I was assured the (free) gifts would be available that evening. No gift..still haven't received it...Not holding my breath. Now if a company has such poor communication between it's people, one has to ask, "Is this a company I would want to deal with?" Vacation Choices operates on a simple premise that has made many millionaires; "The smart get richer and the dumb get poorer" Based solely on the information presented in 1 hour and 15 mins, there is no way a reasonable person could make a informed decision to sign with them. As soon as I indicated to to the sales person I could not make a decision w/o my business partners approval, I was quickly escorted to the door and asked to fill out my email address on a (exit interview) form. I guess they feel that gave me hope I would still receive the free gift. Steer clear of Vacation Choices. I can only imagine the night mare if you sign with them. We too got a letter from them we were promised a free android tablet and a camera. Well they are not free! After downloading claim forms from the internet we discovered that after all the hoops to jump through they would cost around $100 dollars providing we followed every step exactly including how to mail forms. If you don't you'd lose the processing and mailing fees you had already spent. Needless to say these went in the garbage. Our sales people were also very good and after dropping the price $ dollars I was sold, they even threw in 2 additional memberships which I gave to my sons. Because we are nearing retirement age I thought this would be perfect as we love to travel and the savings they showed were remarkable. But the reality is much different the first vacation to Jamaica I called them about I found a lower price online while researching the condo. When I asked what I needed to do to use the best price guarantee she told me just to book it through the site I found it on. This is what you get for the fantastically reduced price of $6000. And they send out 2 Round Trip Airfares, 2 Round trip Cruises, Hotel stays, ipad etc. the free vacation offer is NOT free. You receive a certificate (airfare, cruise, hotel etc.) which requires the redeemer to place a down payment which is NOT refunded to you after your vacation. Plus there's hidden fees like port fees, taxes) ** This is a warning not to call the phone number on the postcard ** If you call on the phone number and you hear Vacation Choices and/or Leisure Compass hang up. I'll give you 3 reasons not to call or hang up. 1. The company looks for people who want to sell their timeshare and want to trade them in for an over priced travel club membership. Warning; don't do it, you end up paying them for your timeshare and you pay for a travel club that doesn't save money. 2. Warning; The travel club membership is not as advertised at the seminars, the price savings (travel reservation savings) sales reps promised are inaccurate. The postcard promising the free travel and food voucher for attending the 90 minute presentation was a come-on. The back of the travel voucher is an entire small print page of specific instructions written in legaleze. A $99.oo cashiers check or money order must be sent to one of their affiliates as an activation fee to get your travel voucher within 14 days. If you go for the two night hotel stay you will be offered "exciting vacation opportunities" (another sales pitch?) " in the hope you will vacation with the host resort in the future." If you go internationaly they will cover two nights in the hotel BUT your return flight must be a MINIMUM of 10 days after departure. The food voucher required "terms and conditions" looks like a page of I.R.S. codes and restrictions. You must open an account first. The " Vacation Choices" cost was $9,999.00 plus a $390.00 fee plius $199.00 per year. For this you get discounts on travel destinations. on the sigh-in clip board they want to know if you brought a credit card? check book? Annual income? In the old days if you went to a time share presentation for example at the end you would get a voucher for a dinner or luggage or a show. and that was that. What these people offer is highly misleading and has pages of strings attached. It true that going to these direct to consumer sales you never know what you are going to get. We thought that it was going to be another one of those time share sales, as did most people in the room. But in spite of a very glitzy presentation, ultimately Vacation Choices is a company that brokers discounted resort condos for weekly rentals. They have other travel services too, hence "Choices". But other ways to reserve trips are not as steeply discounted. Membership will allow you to book into a nice, plush, resort condo for a deeply discounted price. You are offered to buy 2-4 weeks at varying prices, so we decided to give it a try. The following day, a very nice, pleasant, professional (tele)travel agent called us at the scheduled time to give us a tour of their members' website, which was quite impressive. There were also many, many very sweet deals (but you will need to be flexible with your time). But we have small children and can only vacation as family in the summer, Christmas break, and springbreak. We quickly discovered that at high seasons for travel the selections at where we like to go are actually quite limited (much like trying to get into a regular time share). So it means future travels will need to be scheduled well in advance (like 6 months ahead), which is not how we can plan our travel. The contract has a 7 day refund policy which we took advantage of, and Vacation Choices promptly refunded everything in full. So our experience with Vacation Choices has been very positive. Take a look at what they offer. If you like to travel (in style), have flexible schedule (to take advantage of their special deals), and can plan 6-12 months ahead, then it is a good fit. My experience was not pleasant. After the all smiles and professional treatment at the reservation level, it all goes downhill. I suggested they provide better training for their up front people, besides the presenter. Someone called to reschedule my meeting, and I explained my terrible experience "you are late" encounter and also the phone person (at 888-374-7128) became "no time to listen to you". I could only dread taking a vacation with this company and then get such a person on the other line of the phone were I to have a problem. May God have mercy on those in my Spokane, CDA area that do get involved with Vacation Choices. Their business concept is good, their service is terrible and they lost their PR campaign with me. Obvioulsy they are a cookie cutter organization and are not ready to improve or listen to complains, as if vacations were not full of the unexpected. I do not think they do any good work or are ready to customize, they simply do not have the corporate cuture (or time?) to listen. The pitch man at the seminar was personable, friendly and outgoing but when he couldn't convince us to buy he turned cold and rude. Well, my wife and I attended the presentation in Portland, wasted a perfectly good 2 hours with these clowns just to get to the "free airline and hotel vouchers" which was presented to us by Dana out of sight and earshot of the other marks awaiting the next presentation. As stated above, the price kept dropping and since we would not be using the 2 free family packages an extra k came off the price, I guess because they really were not "free" as advertised during the presentation. The free stuff actually costs $200 plus taxes and fees and registered mail and cashiers checks and you must stay at least 10 days, 7 days more than the 3 offered and all arrangements must be made through them. They will confirm your vacation package that they make up for you about 15 days prior to the vacation and if you cancel then you do not get portions of the"fully refundable" cashiers check back. Nothing is for free, and to give these folks thousands prior to setting out for that first sunny beach or Italy says to me that you are headed for one expensive vacation. The kicker is that if you buy and pay the fee then decide that you no longer want to participate, you don't have to give them any more money, you can just go away. I would have given them NO STARS but that was not an option. We left their presentation and went to Jake"s, had a great meal and left a great tip, this one is for you. This "vacation club" while probably legitimate on the actual execution of the contract they create and have their members agree to is dancing along the lines of fraud when it comes to the sales "incentives" and package pricing/services. We normally throw the junk mail for these offers away. In this case we were intrigued by the "two free airline tickets" that made this offer enticing. Should have went with our gut instinct on this one. I would have come to yelp to read the reviews, but we were never clear who exactly was making the offer until we got to the event. Even on phone messages, the person always seemed to garble the company they were working for but were very clear about where we had to be and when. This nebulous identity should have been another red flag and we should have asked for clarification. Both excellent strategies when dealing with these kinds of operations. Lesson learned. There were a lot of big numbers thrown around at the presentation, like 200K members. That would me $2Billion in sales based on pricing models a $40Million annually in membership fees. Why have we never heard of such an economic powerhouse? And what exactly do all those assets deliver to members? Not much in our estimation. You would have to be fairly well off to travel enough to recoup your investment and if you were that well off, well, you wouldn't need VC. The real travesty here is the "free offers." First, there is nothing free about them. The contract to receive the airline tickets involved sending a $99 money order to an address in Florida to create your account. That money would ultimately be credited to your account, once established, with a destination to cover the fees for using the account to get your "free tickets." Those tickets were on airlines of the company's choice and to destinations of the company based on trying to match your request. Then the required stay insured the company would book you in their choice of hotel, giving you the two "free nights" but charging you whatever for the remaining five. Free is free. There are no other ways to define it, so this is a fraud, because it is not free. Not only that, you really have little control of where and when you can use these free tickets. Pitiful joke I am embarrassed to be the butt of. Stay away. This is nothing but a scam and a ruse. These folks went to school on the best time-share sales programs and have made a mockery of even that sub-par business practice... read more

I bought a membership. I tried to arrange two different vacations. Their "experienced" travel agents are a joke. I could get more information searching the web. I found much better deals through travelocity, priceline and airline specific sites. If you leave a message it goes into never never land - they will not call back. You have to keep calling until you get a live person on the line. They also sell personal information - even though they say they don't. Then I get a bill from a third party company about my "account". I called vacation choices and they didn't answer or call me back. I called until I got a person on the phone - she had no idea what I was talking about. Total mickey mouse operation. read more

A scam in every sense of the word. Watch out for these guys. If you buy, what are you buying? Nothing you could not do online yourself saving a ridiculous upfront fee an equally ridiculous "one-time" maintenance fee and a life-time annual fee. If you don't buy the coupon for a "free" gift, if you are able to get one, states several hundred dollars are required to get the gift. If possible to obtain, it is not clear that it can ever be redeemed. For example, the Hawaii gift includes a two day stay, but redemption of the gift requires a ten day stay. Travel "may" be required early or late in the day. If there are any lawyers out there looking for a class action suit, I will sign on. read more

I Am one of those fools who fell for the Vacation Choices pitch at the Phoenix inn in Eugene, Oregon in December of 2011. Since then I have been able to use their services only once successfully... if you call having to stay on the phone for 90 minutes with some representative in Florida who was, considering the time involved, a real novice in the business. Since then I have had the following experiences: a supposed call-back from a rep. which never materialized, (he was going to check on Wash.DC hotels and get back to me), having my call dropped before even reaching a rep., twice trying to make arrangements with reps. who were extremely difficult to deal with, (insulting and abrupt... rude) , getting a management number to talk to them about all this which never got through to anybody. Believe me, I wish I had simply tried to take them up on their free flight offer. I would not be out $10,000.00 and feeling like an idiot. On October 21, 2011 my wife and I attended a group presentation in a hotel in Hartford, CT sponsored by Vacation Choices. They were promoting a travel club. The initial membership fee was around $10,000. We told the representatives that we were not interested in buying into the club as we already had 2 timeshares. As an incentive and an inducement to sign up with them, they agreed to reduce the membership fee to $4,495. and they would transfer the timeshares out of our name. As long as we completed the transfer paperwork in a timely manner the transfer would be completed without risk or exception. We agreed to sign a contract under those conditions. We completed all the paperwork including a deed signing over the property to Antonio Brown promptly and overnighted it to Preferred Transfers. On January 23,2012 we received a letter from Wyndham's transfer office stating they could not complete the transfer because they couldn't confirm the identity of the buyer. It turns out that Antonio Brown uses a mail box store address. All he had to do for the transfer to go through was send in a photo ID. That never happened and on April 26th we received a letter from Vacation Choices cancelling the transfer. I believe they intentionally let the process drag on to extend beyond the 6 month credit card chargeback window. They never intended to transfer the timeshare to begin with.
