However, for a friend's milestone birthday celebration, I was pressed for time and felt the need to resort to a travel agent. I found Anderson Travel on the internet and chose them because they purported to being experts in the South Pacific (original destination intended) and Hawaii (actual destination). Terry, my agent, was only moderately helpful in the booking process. Mostly she didn't really bother to get to know me and my preferences and so couldn't make any informed recommendations. She actually gave me too many choices, all of which I had to look up on the internet in order to make a decision, which I could have done on my own in the first place if I had the time. We went to three islands, and her recommendation for condo rental on Maui was spot-on. We stayed at the Maui Hill (ResortQuest, I believe), which was great. After that, everything went down hill. She incorrectly printed our connecting flight times to The Big Island, so we ended up missing our flight. Our splurge resort there, which Terry highly touted, was a complete disaster. Kona Village was a superb location with lovely hales, and truly horrid service. We even had to call Anderson Travel while there in order to resolve an issue with a dinner reservation, of all things. In Kauai, I requested something a bit cheaper to offset the cost of Kona Village. Mind you, Terry did stress that we'd feel a big step down after Kona Village, but we're used to staying in a variety of types of quality lodging, so we weren't concerned. Unfortunately, Terry's recommendation, The Best Western Plantation Hale, was perhaps the worst hotel I've ever seen at over $100/night. The room was very dusty and musty - the windows clearly hadn't been opened in years - the furniture was essentially plastic, the unit hadn't been remodeled since it was built in the 60s, and the bedroom and deck faced on a busy road so was very noisy. We literally checked in, used the phone long enough to locate another place, and checked out. The place we found in Poipu, across from the beach, was gorgeous and not that much more than the Plantation Hale. When we returned and had to deal with Terry for our refunds on unused hotel and tour, and the issues with Kona Village, she was extremely UNhelpful. She was happy enough to take our money, at almost $5k/person for the trip, but she couldn't even tell us how much our refund would be. She indicated she was "not privvy to that information." She did nothing to sort the issues with Kona Village and generally acted like she just wanted to get us out of her hair. Needless to say, if I'm ever pressed to use a travel agent again, it won't be Anderson Travel.

I observed that Hobbes is kept in excellent working order & equipped with the most up-to-date electronics. The upper deck and galley are sparkling clean. Our meal spread was delicious: thank you Karen! The winds were blowing and we enjoyed a nice sail in the Tacoma Narrows. It was a relaxing yet exhilarating experience---I highly recommend sailing with these wonderful folks.

Everything went perfect because the hosts are so organized and thorough in their communications. We did the all day sail including a very tasty lunch about which the host consulted with me in advance. You don't need to bring a thing but your personal items as they have beverages, wraps if it gets chilly or anything you might need. Four of the six of us are 80+ and we were able to manage fine maneuvering on, off and around the boat including using the "head". Each experience depends on the tides, wind, currents, weather and other boat traffic, which makes each day unique and they explain about how these relate to the sea life you see and your itinerary. Because we had a beautiful sunny day Mt Rainier was present during much of the cruise giving us spectacular photo ops. I can't recommend Hobbes sailing highly enough....

Depending on where you want to go, somebody in the office knows what you should do and how to maximize your time. They have been able to tailor each of my trips based off of what I want to do and how much I want to spend; utilizing useful travel best practices that I was usually unaware of. During the planning phase, the EHT team is very responsive and are incredibly capable whether I just need flights booked or need an entire itinerary for the trip. I am finally writing a review because I would have been hosed on my most recent trip to Norway without Brynn's help. An error made by the hotel I was booked at resulted in my room being given away. I arrived at 12:30 am local time and was unable to get into the building. Despite the late hour, Brynn was able to get a representative from the hotel to let us in and upgrade our room for the troubles. The whole issue was resolved in less than an hour. Long story short, if you need capable travel agents to plan your trip, book your accommodations and/or fight to resolve any issues that arise, I cant recommend Elizabeth Holmes Travel enough.

I called and asked Seattle HeliTours- please please can you fly over my home... they called me back with a YES! This part may make you ill; the day before I bought 4' Blue Painters Tape went on the roof and taped a huge I LOVE YOU. The day of the flight the pilot maintained the surprise for my boyfriend; they were professional, kins, bend over backwards kind of folks! We did 2 circles around the house and my Boyfriends Birthday was a success as was his surprise! The views, the helicopter, the pilot everything was an experience of a lifetime.

My family of 4 took a trip out to Tacoma WA to visit with relatives, and at the recommendation of…read moreclose family, we made reservations with All City Airport Car Service. We needed a car seat and a booster seat for our children ages 4 and 7, and were told those would be available and ready when the car arrived. When the car did arrive, we watched our driver, Chris, opened the trunk, fetched a car seat and booster seat, tossed both onto the backseat, then stood by the opened trunk and watched as my husband loaded the luggage. Then as I wrangled my children and kept them away from airport traffic, I witnessed Chris circle back to the front seat, get in, close the door, buckle up, and then simply sit and watch as my husband again struggle for a good 10-15 minutes to attach and secure both the car seat and booster. If there were any legality that may have prevented Chris from setting up the car seat and booster seat beforehand, we were not informed. He said nothing. He did nothing. He just watched. The final straw was the state of the car seat: visibly grimy with dark stains. It looked like it was picked up on the side of the road or fished out of the dumpster somewhere. Our 4-year old became so frightened, he fought us and cried as we bit our tongue and strapped him in. The booster seat was in no better shape, but our 7-year old handled it better--kudos to him. The car itself, at least, was clean. The driving was safe, thank goodness, but the ride reflected its driver's bitter and sour mood. Our conclusion? Never again. If you are a family traveling with young children, take note.

I was worried that if i used a rideshare service a driver might not be available and prompt so early in the morning. Excellent service - clean car, plenty of luggage space, friendly and competent driver, and I called to book less than 24 hours the day before. Great peace of mind to not miss my flight. The person on the phone was competent and prompt to answer questions / give me a quote as well. These folks had the most competitive price leaving from a residential neighborhood in seattle (1/2 the cost of me paying to park at seatac). I will definitely book with them again for an early morning or late night airport ride.

The WA state ferry system is amazing…read more We went on this to the island off Point Defiance. The crew and staff overall were great. Easy on easy off and a great ride. The views while crossing are spectacular and it's a great overall experience. Anytime you can take the ferry you have to because it's a perfect way to enjoy Washington and the islands

If you arrive a little early or you end up missing a ferry, you can just park your car and walk around an enjoy the duck pond or gorgeous scenery. The ride is also very short; only about 15 minutes or so. I appreciate both of those things. In my van, which is under 22 ft, they charge $34 for the vehicle, + $7 per person and I believe they charge my card a payment fee. It comes out to somewhere between $42 and $45 every time I cross, which is worth it in my opinion for the trip. It's probably slightly cheaper in a regular car and definitely a lot more affordable if you're on foot or bike. It's always pre-organized and easy to make the ferry, but people do sometimes get turned around at the road once you enter the park. Just to stay to the right and you will be fine.
