I've had a few questionable issues but none to this degree. I typically purchase 4 or 5 bales of the grass/alfalfa blend at a time. Yesterday, I was shocked to discover how much trash and garbage was in one of those bales. I'm not talking about a piece or two, I'm talking about several brown paper towels, pieces of brown paper towel, what looked like wet wipes, small and large pieces of hard plastic, small and large pieces of cardboard, candy wrappers and some sort of fuzz/lint. I sorted through what I could and pulled out a few additional pieces of trash before pulling it for concern of my horse's health. I called Wheelers immediately and was told there was no one in to handle that kind of issue but she'd take my name and number and I'd get a call in the morning. No call. I called the feed store today when I had a chance and received a rather nonchalant response/apology. I was told I could bring the rest of the bale in and they'd replace it. I do not have a truck and explained it was a huge inconvenience for me to find someone to go pick up a picked-apart hay bale, take it back to Wheelers, grab another bale and deliver back to the barn. I asked if someone could come get it/deliver a bale and she asked me if it was originally delivered by them, which it wasn't, so that wasn't an option. She also failed to take much (if any) responsibility on behalf of the company in that they are selling hay of this quality. She said they have no control over what is in their bales - could've been a dead animal and that it happens. I am totally understanding in that things happen (even dead animals) but when you are in any sort of business selling whatever type of product, that's your reputation. You hold some degree of responsibility in backing-up the product you are selling to consumers, especially when it can negatively impact an animal's health. Pointing the finger at whomever Wheelers purchased the hay from seems like a lackluster response as ultimately, it falls on Wheelers shoulders. Wheelers has always been convenient, which is why I've purchased from them, but this issue has been so inconvenient I'm just going to take the loss, toss the rest of the bale and hope the other 3 aren't the same. At $19/bale, I have a higher expectation and for all of the inconvenience to fall on me when I did nothing wrong was extremely frustrating.

Barkley got razor rash once & had a problem after his anal glads expressed long ago at Pampered Pet which resulted in vet visit both times, but other than those two episodes, I was satisfied and just wrote those two problems off as flukes until....I took my teacup Maltese there last September (2025). His first couple appointments were fine, but the last, he looked terrible, like a different dog. People who saw him afterwards thought it WAS a different dog, an old dog, not my cute little 9 month old Maltese. When I brought him in, I told Michelle I didn't want his face touched much at all, to leave his "mustache" and wanted his ear hair trimmed shorter, like a puppy. Well, they did the exact opposite; they left the ears long and SHAVED his face. He wasn't matted or anything. I paid the bill, including a $20 tip BEFORE they brought him out to me. I was in shock when they handed him to me. I left and on the drive home, I couldn't even look at him. But the more I did, the madder I got. When I got home, I immediately called Michelle and said, "you know I'm not one to complain and never have, but I was furious on the grooming job. That they did the exact opposite of what I asked and that he looked terrible." She said I could bring him back in and they'd trim his ears shorter, like I had asked, but the damage was done. I knew they couldn't glue his cute mustache and whiskers back on. All I saw when I looked at him was a dog that didn't look a thing like my cute 9 month old puppy that I had brought in. I told her I was too mad to bring him back in and I was just furious. She just said oh, okay. No offer of any compensation or anything. I had been a customer for over a decade. His fur, of course, has since grown back and he looks cute again. He is now a year and 5 months old and I take him to Muddy Paws on 10th Street now, where we have been extremely pleased AND they are a little less expensive and we've had much, much better experience every single time and much better cut than he ever had at Pampered Pet. Sorry, but it's the truth. I won't go back there. I don't know if there was miscommunication between Michelle and the groomer or what because I did tell Michelle the cut I wanted: face left alone, only cleaned up a little, leave his mustache/whiskers and trim the ears much shorter and the exact opposite was done. He was the first appointment of the day, maybe she was still half asleep, I don't know.

I used to travel pretty far to different places, but now I won't go anywhere else. Bryant is an excellent groomer. My two poodles always come back happy, and they look amazing every time. On top of that, I live just 5 minutes away, which makes it super convenient. We've been going through show-lamb feed like mad the last few months and the curbside loading is wonderful. Recently purchased some cat vaccines and each sold for well under $10 each. Feline Rhinotracheitis-Calici-Panleukopenis Vaccines to be precise; "Focus Cat Vax 3". Needed to de-worm and vaccinate as well as she had visible tape worms. Not sure what these worms look like? They look like pieces of white rice and you guessed it; they are located on your cats bottom. Picked up Bayer brand Tape Worm tabs; 3 tabs for $20. Praziquantel tabs to be precise. Do not enjoy either one of these activities as I'd prefer to have my vet take care of these needed tasks however I am on a very restrictive and frugal lifestyle so I'm just grateful I am able to locate these two items at prices that I can afford. I really hate leaving bad reviews for small businesses but I had already talked to the owners about how someone shaved my dog's ears and the hair never grew back. Now she has short ears and doesn't have the beautiful face she always had. They kind of shrugged it off and said something like "that happens." Anyway, I wasn't complaining to them because I'm not sure who did it but I wanted them to know I didn't like her hair shaved and I wondered if there was anything that could be done about it. So, I brought my dog in to be groomed. Her hair was getting long, NOT matted, just long, and she desperately needed a bath. She is a Havanese so she has hair and not fur. It looks beautiful on her tail when she runs or wags her tail. My husband picked her up and when he got her home, 3 of us here all said in unison "WHAT HAPPENED TO HER TAIL??" They shaved her tail and it seriously looks like a rat's tail. I'm so filled with emotions, anger, frustration, sadness; I just can't even find the words. All I know is that I will never bring her back there again. Especially after we had the conversation about shaved ears. They've been grooming her for 7 or 8 years!!!!! What happened????
