I felt like a pampered princess the entire time! My massage therapist was Dee and she was wonderful! The whole massage experience was fantastic. The room was dimly lit with calming spa music playing and a diffuser was going with a very calming scent. Dee was great. She was very respectful and professional and the massage was perfect. I felt like a whole new person. The scrub and wrap were definitely great too! My skin felt amazing and it was a great time to just empty my mind. Their sauna is so perfect. It's not too small and they have water available to you as well. After you're done, there is a relaxing room where you can enjoy a complimentary drink and just soak in all all your pampering. The whole atmosphere is calm and the decor is very cute. I've heard great thing about this place and the staff and everything and everyone lived up to it!

She told me that she was an Esthetician, not a massage therapist. This is not legal! To do massage in the state of Missouri you must have at least 500 hours of massage therapy training plus take the state licensing test. An Esthetician may be qualified to massage a client's face and hands but not a full body massage. This Esthetician had no idea what she was doing so she just rubbed me lightly with oil and it was beyond annoying! I spoke with the manager Shelly and she kept telling me that the Esthetician can give full body massages which is not legal! Shelly told me that the Esthetician could give relaxing massages but couldn't work at a chiropractic office, which isn't how massage therapists work! Shelly didn't even know how many hours a massage therapist even needed to work in the state of Missouri.

But my appointment started wayyyy past my appointment time. Like maybe an hour late, I would have appreciated a phone call. The person before me obviously was late or something. Good thing I had nothing going on and was in town killing time. As they ask that you come early anyway to relax and enjoy the amenities. I used the mineral pool in the spa which was okay. It didn't have any jets or a waterfall, it was basic. The resort itself is just sad and rundown. The indoor/outdoor pool I had read about had the door locked and part of the pool area had no water in it. The locker room area had a steam room and a sauna I believe but all of these were closed for covid I guess. Paid full price for a top notch spa that was listed but obviously the awards they have gotten for this spa much be from the 90s. Great great massage though he really got out a ton of knots in my back and neck.

I was looking for a barber at the lake. We bought a condo in 2005 and sold it in 2018. An owner at El Grande restaurant had a nice haircut and he told me about Wyatt's. I made an appointment and as he was cutting my hair, he started using a razor to cut it. I had a lot of styled razor cuts in St. Louis, primarily by Earl's barbers or students. I thought, I wonder what this is going to cost. When finished, with a great haircut, it was $14. With a generous tip it was still less than I would pay in St. Louis. No one else but Wyatt cut my hair for the time we owned the condo at the lake, often planning our trips to the lake around when I needed a haircut. I haven't found a comparable haircut since and I miss Wyatt. More than once, I have considered driving the 160 or so miles, one way, to get a decent haircut, but that isn't really sustainable. I have a special event in December and the idea to go to the lake gets stronger and stronger. If you are at the lake, I would strongly suggest Wyatt's. But make an appointment. Despite Corry B.'s idea, "who needs an appointment for a mens haircut', it behooves most to make an appointment for a man's haircut. Dean Daniels, Chesterfield, MO
