*Cautionary tale for clients with long hair*…read more I booked an appointment with a stylist to trim my waist length hair prior to my college graduation (my prior stylist from elsewhere relocated, so I had to seek out a new stylist). I showed photos of my past haircuts (all photos showed visuals of very long hair) which are always a dusting of my dead ends. I explained to the stylist I've always had long hair and just wanted a bare minimal trim. What happened after this, was the opposite. My back was turned to the mirrors (I could not see) and my hair was cut shoulder length. I then panicked and asked "You arent' cutting anymore length off are you?". She made me aware she had to "clean it up", which left me with even shorter hair. I refused to allow her to thin it - I was scared I would leave with hardly any hair if I had allowed it to be thinned. I left the salon with a shoulder length haircut (approximately 8-10 inches of hair was cut off). I was distraught and emotional. I attended my college graduation with a haircut that made me feel as if I wasn't myself.
