She insisted on using the straightener. I said please, no. She still snuck in a curl with a straightener to try to convince me. I said no once again. She burned my scalp twice due to not paying attention. She picked up her phone for a personal call and almost burned my face running to answer her phone. She then did not know how to accept payment via credit card and made me set it up with the electronic block. I wanted to tip her (which I shouldn't have) with cash. I gave her a 20 and asked for change for the tip. She said thank you and tried to take the 20. I asked again, but she didn't have change for my 20 either. I don't understand how one pays here if they don't have cash change nor do they know how to accept payment via credit card. It felt like this place opened yesterday. After all that, I left the place with uneven curls and parts of my hair left uncurled. I will not be returning.

I'll start out by saying the owner and stylist were very sweet and friendly. They welcomed me into…read morethe salon and offered me coffee/tea. I'm pretty low maintenance and only go to a salon twice a year for a trim, and everything else I would do myself including color. As I'm getting older, it's becoming harder to maintain, as I have my hair very dark black and my grays are very white and the contract is strong so I'm at the point where I have to dye it once a month. I decided to try for the first time having it done at a salon, since it's always so messy and such a pain doing it myself, to see if I would like that better. I live in the neighborhood and have passed by, and saw their website and decided to book. According to their website, to sign up online for a single color, shampoo & blow dry would be $60 a month. They tried to tell me that wasn't correct and their website is still new and their price is more, however they did honor the price I paid because they saw the confirmation email they sent me. The other thing I didn't like was that she made me book my appointment for next month while I was there, even though I told her I didn't want to do that. I was just trying it out and not sure if I would come back, and also would rather make my own appointment when I could go home and look at my calendar without pressure and book at my own time. I don't know what I will have going on a month from now and don't think I should be forced to commit to that now. She said I could always change it but I still thought that was pushy, and I will not be attending that appointment. I could understand if they were a salon that fills up quickly, but when I booked this first apportionment I did it the same day and there were many openings and no other customers even came in while I was there, and their book was wide open as well. The other thing I am unsatisfied with is the color job itself. This is the most important thing, and I would've overlooked all these other things if I was happy with the end result. When I got home I noticed all these patches still streaked with gray that she missed. I do a better job when I dye my hair myself, I never miss patches like this (especially in the front/top). It also comes out a blacker/shinier color when I do it myself. I feel like she didn't use a dark enough color, as I told her I wanted it dark, the blackest black and it seems like she either used a dark brown or soft black. But again the part I'm most annoyed about and the reason I won't be going back and for my negative review, are all the gray strands I still can see. (I keep trying to upload a pic taken less then 2 days after I received these services where you can clearly still see streaks of gray in my hair, but the photo keeps disappearing)
