My email stated going forward we will only communicate via email as text messages are not good documentation for a $3K project (it is what he gave me without seeing the project). A week has past and no response. I had another very bad experience last year with another concrete person and Ramos seemed to follow the same path, so I am backing off. The $3K did not include materials. It is not a big job, and I have done this myself in past homes. As you can see in his response below that he never intended to follow-up yet lead me to believe he would send an estimate and to send him pictures. Why say that with no intention to follow-up. amazing how a negative review gets immediate attention.

Not just one, many. Wheelbarrow tracks, etc. For the garage, the slab was so lopsided and was a rhombus, not a rectangle. The builder couldn't place the building. Victor ghosted us as soon as there were issues and never made it right. He also insisted on payment either in cash or wire. We sent a wire and the wire itself was flagged by the federal reserve and they wouldn't release the funds until he talked with them. Of course, this took some time and he was aggressive with us. Ended up finding a reputable concrete company and they had to come tear out Victor's shoddy work. When they did so, they noted several other issues we wouldn't have known about. For example, the rebar was minimal and it was all sunk to the bottom. They had laid it on the ground and poured over it. We watched them do it and didn't think at the time that, duh, the rebar should be "in" the concrete, not under it. Another issue was that the patio slab was boot attached to the home slab at all. It had already begun to drift. If you want a quick and terrible job that you will regret and spend time and energy trying to fix, hire SoTex. There is more to a job than just being able to have the lowest quote and, in this case, it really really matters.

I followed up with a complaint with the Better Business Bureau today. Stay away from this company. They don't honor their work. They don't even call you back after you give them over 10,000 dollars and request warranty work.. Stay far far away. Here you can see a picture of my supposed Warranty. There are other companies out there who will actually call you back and honor the work. We work very hard for our money. Stay away. The least they can do is call you back. I have proof of two emails and three phone calls now since early September. I recorded all my phone calls. I can show you the emails. Once they get your money, they will not even come out and inspect or consider Warranty work. They will literally ignore you. Buyer be aware!!!!!!!!!!!! Stay far far away. Once they get your money it's crickets, and warranty work is a pipe dream.

Last year I had a fence blow down on one side of my house (along with most of San Antonio) and I was having a hard time getting a contractor to call me back, much less give me an estimate. Allen not only called me back, he came out and gave me a reasonable estimate and said he would work the job in as soon as he could. I was getting nasty notes from my HOA so this was a big help to me. The work was done on time, on budget, and MUCH better quality than the original builder. I had him give me an estimate on a deck at that time and was impressed out how reasonable it was. Fast forward to now and I am ready to build a deck, and my circumstances and finances allow for a much nicer deck than what he originally estimated. First I went through Home Advisor (which I recommend if you're lonely... you will get all kinds of calls lol) and they sent 3 different contractors out. I sent the first home without an estimate because he wouldn't even give me a quote unless I signed paperwork on the spot. The other two were also VERY high pressure and their quotes were... well they were high (like you have to be kidding high). That's when I remembered I had Allen's card and gave him a call. He came out himself and took measurements, asked questions about what I wanted (one of the other companies insisted on telling me what I wanted) and gave me a ball park quote on the spot. Just based on this experience and the previous work I would highly recommend them, but of course I will update this review once the work is done. (it's 3/16/18 now and I hope to start on it within the next month).
