As per usual, I was caught needing my nails done in a new city. I checked the reviews and decided to try this place. When I initially arrived to get my nails done the lady with whom I was paired was quite rude and unpleasant. She clearly didn't want me there so I asked for someone else. There was a lady sitting towards the front who actually acted like someone who wanted to keep the business going. Her name was Emma; she is either owner or co-owner. I asked when she'd be available. She gave me a time a little later on the same day. I returned and Emma was able to do my stiletto cateye nails sans issues. I was slightly obsessed with the look of the outcome: #8 over black and #6 over clear. Emma ended up apologizing for Miss Rude Gyal, albeit initially making excuses for her and saying how good of a tech she was. But by the end of the day Emma had warmed up to me and was very nice. And I must add that it was past closing time, but Emma didn't rush. She took her time and made sure that my nails were exactly how I wanted them. I apologized that she had to stay late to do my nails, but she declared that it wasn't a problem. Another lady was also present by this time; I believe it was her mother. She was also very nice and accommodating to me. Pricing was reasonable. So, at the end of the story, 1-star for the initial rude chic, who really shouldn't be working with the public; 5 stars for Emma and her mom (presumably), leading to a 3 star overall experience. However, my nails by Emma were 5 stars! If I ever find myself in Eau Claire, WI again, I would return here for Emma. read more

Amazing at designs, they offered drinks but not sure whether they charge for them because I declined. Asked for dip nails with gel design and a gel pedicure. My nails were over filed and got damaged. Then they proceeded to use acrylic on my nails instead of dip powder. I asked them and was told I can't get dip bc the nails are too long? For 4 years I have gotten nails exactly this way. Nail extensions with dip powder and gel design on top. When I got my pedicure I specifically asked my nails to not but cut simply because I take care of my own feet normally and do indeed keep them filed and trimmed. She proceeded to cut one of my toe nails that tends to become ingrown which causes pain as the nail grows back out. As well it's very confusing which door is the front or the back, very small interior and I won't be returning. read more

I visit here in Wisconsin from Florida often and always had a hard time finding a nail salon tech that knew what they were doing and did a good job. I scheduled an appointment with Emma because of reviews I read that recommended her. SHE DID AMAZING!! I highly recommend Emma! I was on a time crunch but she did such an amazing job getting me out of the door when i needed to and she did my pedicure so quick! My manicure came out flawless! best nails ever! she was very explanatory with prices and what the services entailed. I never give big tips but she did such an amazing Job i had to recognize her work! I get my nails done every two weeks and have been to this nail salon before and had a good experience in the past however yesterday was a whole different experience. I have never been treated so rudely and so poorly. One hand the nails were like I like them more almond shape so I asked if she could file the other other hand a little more almond shape instead of rounded. She took my hand and shoved it out of way. Then quickly filed them not changing the shape much and tossed the file and it landed on my hand so I flipped the file off my hand. Then she took both hands and shoved them into one machine to dry with one hand on top of the other hand. Very terrible customer service! Very rude technician. read more

The absolute WORST experience at a nail salon I have ever had in my life. They gave me the wrong nails, the wrong design, and tried to charge me more than what is on their price board. My nails are chunky, uneven, don't match, and straight up ugly. I spent over 2.5 hours here with my friends and they just kept taking new clients instead of finishing our nails. They were so rude too. They talked bad about us and were not understanding what we said about their prices not being accurate. I started going to V&V nails about a year ago now and have been impressed each time I go in for a full set or fill! My acrylic nails have never lifted or broke after getting them done here and the staff does a great job at paying attention to detail. I recently had a fill done by Emma and my nails have never looked better! Not only did she help me find the colors I was looking for, but she also fixed each nail that was lifting from getting them done while I was in Minneapolis. I usually don't do this. my service for a regular polish pedicure was sub par. the water was cold my massage and foot scrub were short and useless. the polish itself was eh. the woman doing my pedicure could visibly care less. i didn't complain and thanked her and the friend I went with told me it made her mad to see how my pedicure was going as hers took a while 15 min longer than mine did (granted she got gel polish) I asked her if her water was cold and she said no so I just got bad luck. the woman that did her nails did an amazing job and mine was among the worst pedicures I have ever gotten. I have gotten work done here before and it was great! I scheduled an appointment on a monday for the coming friday at 11am. I arrived a bit before 11, and they were quite busy and told me to take a seat. I didn't get my service started until 11:20. I was getting a full set of acrylics, the nail tech glued the tips on, asked what color I wanted and then walked somewhere (I assumed to get the color) I then sat for 20 minutes. It was not until i stood up that another tech rushed over directed me to a different station to finish my service. When I sat down my original tech was working with someone else, a client of a group that walked in around 11:15. The rest of the application and painting took 30 minutes once someone actually attended to me, the fastest i've ever gotten nails, but i sat it the salon for nearly an hour and a half. They also pushed me to pay in cash even though i paid with card last time. I used my card again but the woman kept directing me to their atm. read more

This was the worst service I have had at this nail salon. I usually have an okay experience but today was very rushed. I was supposed to get a 30 minute pedicure and get acrylics removed. I did not feel like a valued customer. No cuticle softener was used which really hurt and I let her know, I wasn't even acknowledged. I will not be coming back. This place is awful. Been 2 times with my wife. They are very rushed. They do not take their time. Burned my wife's fingers every time she goes and then blame her. They say she's "tired". This is my second time going to V&V Nails. The service was not quite horrible, but it is making me question going back in the future. I came in for a fill of my initial gel shellac. The man who worked on my nails was condescending and rude. Him and the man working next to him both joked about how long my nails had gotten, to the point where I felt extremely uncomfortable. He cut my nails down too short and the length is uneven (he even laughed about how much shorter my thumb nail turned out compared to the rest), and he continuously tried to talk me out of the shape I wanted, trying to convince me that almond nails were too pointy and that I would "scratch my boyfriend." I'm disappointed because my first trip here was nothing short of amazing. I think I am going to have to consider other salons to get my nails done in the future. read more

Absolutely only about making money. Very disappointed It's five dollars extra for this shape Five dollars extra for matte coat Then charged me 30 extra dollars for gel polish. And that was after the woman misshaped and cut my nails too short so she ripped them off me with an attitude and now have cuts on edges of my fingers from that. All the time talking crap about me in her language. All this going on while one employee is laying on the massage table taking a rest with a book and a blanket And all the others in their phones. Very clean and fast service. I had just gel polish on my nails and it lasted three and a half weeks when they did it. The pricing on their services is not consistent with what they have in their board in the store so always ask. Once my polish chipped the same day I had it put on and they were very apologetic and fixed my nails for free. The nail technicians are all very friendly and helpful. The girl who did my nails took two phone calls and answered some texts while I was getting my nails done. Then when I went to pay, I tried to ask if I could tip with my card other than in cash. However before I could speak, she grabbed my receipt and noticed I hadn't put anything down for a tip and almost ran back to her station. So today I finally found time to treat myself to a mani/pedi...its been months actually and I felt I needed some ME time. I have been to numerous other places and have had my fair share of both good and bad experiences but never settle on a place due to not being able to really ever make an appointment or finding myself unsatisfied with the experience. Today I decided to try something new and stopped by. I was pleasantly greeted and was able to get in right away for a gel manicure. The staff was all very nice and the atmosphere was relaxing. My manicurist was polite and receptive to my request for an extra base and top coat since my nails are on the thin side. This was refreshing since I have asked numerous times at other locations for this service and only one place ever complied. He took his time and didn't make me feel rushed or that I was a nuisance. He asked me every time he did something ( such as shaping my nail, checking to make sure I liked the color of my polish, asking me if I thought they were dark enough or if I wanted another color coat ) and I could tell he took pride in his work. ( I just got a regular gel manicure ( which included shaping my nails squoval, pushing back and trimming my cuticles, a soak, 2 top, 2 color, and 2 base coats and a hand massage with lotion) I inquired about the cost of a Pedi while he was working on my nails, and he told me the range of price and told me that I could get one after I was finished and to just let him know. I chose to add to my treat by getting a pedicure ( even though I tend to not once the cold weather hits ) and was led to the other side to be seated. Once I was seated my pedicurist gave me a menu to choose which options I wanted ( they ranged from the basic for 27$ to a full blown spa like Pedi including things like lotions, oils, scrubs, masques, heated towels, hot stone massage and so on which cost 65$. I went in the middle for 45$ and got my calluses worked on, trimmed and painted, a clay masque, hot towels, hot stone massage ( the hot stone was amazing and I highly recommend ) and was even offered a glass of complimentary wine which I surely accepted ;) The experience was the same with a new technician and she took excellent care of me. She was gentle and never hurt me ( I have been to places that actually cut me when trimming my toes causing me to bleed ) Once done she applied the disposable sandals you get and led me over to the UV table to dry. I left after about 5-10 min just cause I wanted to dry at home but I was not rushed or anything. In all I will DEFINETLY be back again. I was very impressed with the service and how all the staff were. They were all friendly and I felt comfortable and at ease here. There is plenty of room for groups to come and be able to sit by each other so that is another bonus. read more

I have gone here multiple times and have had the WORST experiences. Last time I was here the woman doing my nails was on the phone the majority of the time. She also wouldn't stop telling me how terrible my natural nails are. She made me feel terrible about my nails (which I'm already self conscious about). I also had a color picked out and they put it back, so they told me to go pick out a new one. When I asked the woman where she put my color she had no idea. I ended up picking out a random color because she was waiting for me. There are way better options in Eau Claire and I would NOT recommend coming here. read more

I have been to this salon several times and my nails have always looked nice afterwards, but their customer service isn't always the best. I make an appointment every time and I don't think there's been a single time that I haven't ended up waiting 20+ mins. On top of that the workers have made me feel very uncomfortable, looking straight at you and then turning to each other and talking. One woman there had snapped at me a few times. Passing through town and needed a quick mani/pedi. Another salon referred me because their schedule was full. I made an appointment, and arrived on time. They kept me waiting for more than 20 Minutes without a comment. I was preparing to depart when the pedicure started. The pedicure was torturously rough despite my politely requesting gentleness. When we moved from the pedicure chair to the manicure table, I discovered how filthy the place was: nail filings and clippings everywhere. I had to request a towel be put on the table to avoid other people's clippings. The person helping me kicked my wet toes with her sandals, despite telling me to be careful. Love this place! I have been going here ever since they opened on the West side of Eau Claire and I will never go anywhere else. Their attention to detail for both pedicures and acrylics is excellent. I love my nails and pedicure every time I go! They even help pick out color if you are undecided. Hands down the most awful service I have received. The lady who was doing my full set with UV gel was clearly in a rush as her actual appointment arrived on time. She kept her waiting for ten additional minutes while she was finishing my manicure. While rushing through, she clipped off a piece of the fake nail and several pieces broke off and flew directly into my open eye. I was in a decent amount of pain because I could not seem to get the pieces out, and she got out of her chair, came over to me and grabbed the contact from my left eye with her own hands and left a strange substance on it-completely ruining my new set of contacts. She proceeded to be very aggressive with pulling my hands and fingers toward her, and had an extremely rude tone of voice while responding to me. She did nip the edges of my skin with the filer and caused me to bleed as well. I did not appreciate how she would shake her head and whisper to her waiting appointment directly afterwards. As if I was doing something wrong. I have my nails done monthly and have NEVER received this poor of service. I could not bring myself to tip her. Please, do not go here. I have come to V and V nails regularly for acrylics. Everytime I come in, the price is different. Every time I come in, they try to upsell me on gel or whatever else. The last couple times I've made an appointment, I come in and have to wait a minimum of 15 minutes before someone gets to me (and it was only after 15 minutes that the person who was sitting around decided to start working on me because I complained about being late). This last time however took the cake. They were extremely rude and condescending. Their customer service was so poor I ended up walking out and going to a different place. I am truly disappointed in their service and will NEVER go back. By the way, every time I've gotten acrylics done here at least one nail chips or falls off within the first week. Find somewhere to go until they can come up with a plan to better their business and better their customer service. read more
