I was greeted by a very nice receptionist and she showed me where I needed to put my shoes and to put on sandals they provided as they wanted to keep the main part of the salon really clean. She showed me my options for nail color. Now for someone who has not been in a nail salon for years, it was extremely overwhelming and unbelievable. Tiffany P was my manicurist and I have to say my experience, hands-down, was the best I have ever had. Tiffany heard me talking with the receptionist about OPI and we decided on a lovely bright red. Tiffany explained to me the difference between a manicure I would normally get and a gel manicure. Tiffany told me that when I walked out of the salon, my nails would be completely dry. I was sold on trying a gel manicure! The spa music was relaxing and Tiffany was so nice, outgoing and friendly. She was professional and performed her magic doing my manicure. It was like a miracle! It was hard for me to believe my nails would be dry but Tiffany made a believer out of me. It is now June 1, my nails look as beautiful as the day I left the salon other than they have grown out. My family is getting tired of me telling them how beautiful my manicure looks. If only I lived in Eau Claire, I would be going back to Tiffany, as Tiffany calls it: maintenance not luxury! I highly recommend SahLan Nails and Tiffany! Next week, I head to Lincoln, NE for another wedding, another manicure at a "new to me" salon. When I initially arrived to get my nails done the lady with whom I was paired was quite rude and unpleasant. She clearly didn't want me there so I asked for someone else. There was a lady sitting towards the front who actually acted like someone who wanted to keep the business going. Her name was Emma; she is either owner or co-owner. I asked when she'd be available. She gave me a time a little later on the same day. I returned and Emma was able to do my stiletto cateye nails sans issues. I was slightly obsessed with the look of the outcome: #8 over black and #6 over clear. Emma ended up apologizing for Miss Rude Gyal, albeit initially making excuses for her and saying how good of a tech she was. But by the end of the day Emma had warmed up to me and was very nice. And I must add that it was past closing time, but Emma didn't rush. She took her time and made sure that my nails were exactly how I wanted them. I apologized that she had to stay late to do my nails, but she declared that it wasn't a problem. Another lady was also present by this time; I believe it was her mother. She was also very nice and accommodating to me. Pricing was reasonable. So, at the end of the story, 1-star for the initial rude chic, who really shouldn't be working with the public; 5 stars for Emma and her mom (presumably), leading to a 3 star overall experience. However, my nails by Emma were 5 stars! If I ever find myself in Eau Claire, WI again, I would return here for Emma.

My nails were over filed and got damaged. Then they proceeded to use acrylic on my nails instead of dip powder. I asked them and was told I can't get dip bc the nails are too long? For 4 years I have gotten nails exactly this way. Nail extensions with dip powder and gel design on top. When I got my pedicure I specifically asked my nails to not but cut simply because I take care of my own feet normally and do indeed keep them filed and trimmed. She proceeded to cut one of my toe nails that tends to become ingrown which causes pain as the nail grows back out. As well it's very confusing which door is the front or the back, very small interior and I won't be returning.

I had gel x on my nails that was only about a week grown out so scheduled a gel polish change for my fingers. When I got there I was told I needed a fill (which was fine). Once he was told it was gel x he said he had to take it all off. I came in asking for ombre and was told that they can I only do ombre with "dip". Because my nails were off already I said that was fine. My natural nails were decently long and I told him to keep the length but it was all cut off. I had originally asked for an almond but when I realized how short he cut them I asked for a round or oval shape instead. He tried to put extensions on and I repeated I didn't want them, and I wanted my natural nails. He shaped the left hand square and I asked again for oval. He then put "dip" on my fingers and I left because I had somewhere to go. After I left I realized that the left hand was still square and the right was oval. The right hand was longer than the left. I WAS CHARGED 70$ for this even without extensions. I went back to see if they would fix them and they blamed it on me and that I picked ombre. My issue was not how short my nails were or the ombre. It was the fact that THEY WERE DIFFERENT SHAPES AND SIZES. Additionally I never wanted acrylic on my nails because it is horrible for them but yet there I was when the word literally was not said once the whole time. Finally he agreed to fix them the next day. This is when my real problems started. My appointment was at 12 and when I got there he was helping someone else. I waited for twenty minutes to be helped and all that was done was acetone wraps to soak off the acrylic. I was asked to sit back in the waiting area and after asking found out it would only be 5 minutes. At 12:45 I was done. No one had helped me and at this point I just wanted my money back. This guy (I had James) argued with me in front of the WHOLE STORE for 20 minutes saying my nail beds were uneven. Horrible customer service. Finally I received a refund after asking probably 20 times. Horrible horrible experience. He wouldn't call his manager to confirm that the refund would come in and continued to argue with me. Mind you I am a minor and work in customer service so I understand what it is like and also how easy it is to treat customers with respect. Also I am non confrontational and have never once complained how someone has done my nails. What I got was not worth $70 and not a single time was I apologized to. Even if you believe you're right, you apologize for the situation. I finally got a refund and will never be returning. Be warned.
