Vi is the owner and she does the best nails in town! She takes her time and is very precise. I got the builder gel (hard gel) and there was a ton of colors to choose from. I got chrome and it was a total of $70-75, normally is $60. She also is quick so I was in and out within around 60-75 minutes. I'd recommend making an appointment online before arriving but can definitely walk in. They currently only have a few techs working so if it's busy, you may have to wait or come back if you walk in. After doing some Internet research, I decided to book an appointment with SahLan Nails and Spa. I was greeted by a very nice receptionist and she showed me where I needed to put my shoes and to put on sandals they provided as they wanted to keep the main part of the salon really clean. She showed me my options for nail color. Now for someone who has not been in a nail salon for years, it was extremely overwhelming and unbelievable. Tiffany P was my manicurist and I have to say my experience, hands-down, was the best I have ever had. Tiffany heard me talking with the receptionist about OPI and we decided on a lovely bright red. Tiffany explained to me the difference between a manicure I would normally get and a gel manicure. Tiffany told me that when I walked out of the salon, my nails would be completely dry. I was sold on trying a gel manicure! The spa music was relaxing and Tiffany was so nice, outgoing and friendly. She was professional and performed her magic doing my manicure. It was like a miracle! It was hard for me to believe my nails would be dry but Tiffany made a believer out of me. It is now June 1, my nails look as beautiful as the day I left the salon other than they have grown out. My family is getting tired of me telling them how beautiful my manicure looks. If only I lived in Eau Claire, I would be going back to Tiffany, as Tiffany calls it: maintenance not luxury! I highly recommend SahLan Nails and Tiffany! Next week, I head to Lincoln, NE for another wedding, another manicure at a "new to me" salon. The place is brand new and had plenty of space to move with lots of pedi & mani stations. The atmosphere was spa like with soft relaxing music and pretty quiet. This place actually smelled good and didn't have that awful harsh acetone smell like most salons have which was a huge benefit! All of the staff was super welcoming and nice. Vi was running a little behind from her previous client so instead of having me sit there and wait, she had her coworker begin removing my old manicure until she finished up. She was super friendly, precise and took her time. It took a total of 75 mins. I would highly recommend her! But honestly, every other salon I've gone to in Eau Claire has been bad consistently so I've stuck with this one. However, the last few times I have gone there they have either cut me (fairly badly!) or made my nails way too thin and painful. The icing on the cake is I now have an infection in my toe nail from a pedicure and unclean tools. I have actually lost over half of my toenail from it and it is separating from the nail bed. She did my wedding nails which were absolutely gorgeous, she took her time and made sure they looked the way I wanted them to. I have unfortunately not had the best experience the last few times I've been in there though :( Two different times I made an appointment I had to wait over 30 minutes past my scheduled appointment. I love that they are so busy because they really have done a great job in the past, but I've also noticed lately that the lengths of my nails aren't even and sometimes crooked. They seem to fall off easier after a fill and the last few times I've gotten my nails done, the previous color wasn't fully taken off. I was able to see all 3 colors I've had through the nail. I just got pink done and could still see the blue from my previous set through it. It's really upsetting because I finally found someone I loved going to but my experience hasn't been the best the last few months, it always feels like i'm being rushed and it's not exactly a cheap thing to get done ($55 for a fill IMO is a little high) I may need to try to go elsewhere. :/
