We decided on the their appetizer sampler just to get a feel for their food, and it wasn't a great feel. The wings were burnt, Maybe that's their "style" but it didn't work. They were so dry. The shrooms had too much breading and were also overcooked, thought at least not burnt. The mozzarella sticks were actually decent. The pretzels was good, but some awful beer cheese. I had two of their IPA's and I did enjoy those. Unfortunately not someplace I'd go back to unless someone assured me it was better

Indeed, if the cold North runs through you veins, you'll find house beer and mead aplenty to wet your whistle in an atmosphere that while housed in a modern shopping center, is still somehow appropos. Unfortunately, I had driving to do, so alcohol wasn't in the cards, but the menu appealed to us. We needed some comfort food, so we ended up with an appetizer sampler that included a baked pretzel, jalapeno poppers (instead of the fried ravioli that I guess they were out of), buffalo wings, and mozz sticks. We also got a pizza from the current specials, the spicy hawaiin. We like pineapple on pizza, and definitely prefer pepperoni to ham, and this also included jalapenos... so it sounded right up our alley. FYI, there are no waiters, you simply order at the bar, and they give you a numbered buzzer to pick up your food when ready. I greatly prefer this way of doing things honestly. For the food, honestly... a mixed bag, hence the one star off. The pretzel was great, probably the best of the bunch. Jalapeno poppers were nice and large, good flavor balance of cream cheese and jalapeno. Mozz sticks were mozz sticks. We didn't care for the wings. For one, they weren't tossed in the buffalo sauce, it was just poured over the top, and they also were a tad dry... maybe fried too long. The pizza was a letdown, especially since other reviews were so complimentary of it. The slices were very floppy, it maybe could have used a couple minutes more. The cheese had a nice flavor, but the sauce was not either of our preference. Could have used more pineapple, less jalapeno to balance the bites. Overall, we didn't finish it, and didn't take the leftovers for later. It could just be our personal tastes, so go and decide for yourself. Outside of food, it was trivia night, and people were having a great time. We would have taken part if we were staying longer. I think if I lived in the area, I would still come here, and just figure out what food items are the ones to get and which ones aren't. Great atmosphere, friendly bartender and people.

I was told that the original location is in Concord, and later found out that they don't just brew beer, but also mead! We came in on a Friday night after dinner and it was lively but not over crowded with a performer up on stage playing guitar and singing some classics. In addition to their beer and mead, they have a list of creative cocktails as well as a food menu. The food coming out looked great! If we weren't full from dinner we would have surely indulged. Overall the vibe isn't typical for a brewery and feels more like a neighborhood pub, they even have arcade games and pool tables, things you're most likely to find at a dive than a micro brewery. I loved the atmosphere and everyone enjoyed their beverages. They had a cheer wine cider that was especially tasty. Not I need to go check out the OG, but this location in Locust is top notch.

They offer beer, cider, and meades as well as a list of recommended ways to mix them. They have tons of seating inside and a large patio full of tables, creating an open and relaxed atmosphere. The food is perfect! Everything we had from beer, appetizers to meal was delicious. They have a large parking lot and are family-friendly . Definitely stop in if you are in the area. Try Freya's love bite, their strawberry blonde ale, hands down one of the best I've ever had!

Wow this was a micro craft distillery at its best. Customer service, selection, and knowledge. They…read moretruly deserve being the face of the charlotte area whiskey. 1st entering, you walk into a small area with a gift shop area, bar area, and small separate sitting area on the first floor. The small sitting area also houses their original small still they currently produce their gin in. Pretty cool piece of history. So about the juice...They're really got some good stuff. You can do a curated flight for 10 dollars each pour, you can also do single pours of whatever they have available as well from their core products to the single barrels. I really love what they're doing with the "Story" line where they experiment with different finishes and blends. I'm not a huge rye guy but they are certainly doing it right. That says a lot for me to grab 2 to take home of their rye single barrels..my bartender was so cool and knowledgeable I even grabbed the one he actually picked. Overall 10/10. They're giving the bigger names a definite run for their money. You will not go wrong supporting and drinking local with them. Hands down the best in the charlotte area. They do offer shipping but, you NEED to go in for the full experience and the option to grab distillery exclusive bottles. #Foodierunner approved lol

We had paid in advance and made it just in the nick of time to join our group of about a dozen people. The crowd was a mix of adults and children; personally, I didn't quite understand the presence of kids on a jailhouse and whiskey tour, but the group was ready to dive into the history. The tour kicked off with chilling news of hauntings. Our guide mentioned that the show "Ghost Hunters" had even visited the site, certifying the old jail as haunted--though fortunately by "friendly" spirits. The sensory experience was a bit of a rollercoaster. I generally enjoy the scent of bourbon, and the initial aroma upon entering the distillery is quite pleasant. However, the main room where we spent a significant portion of the tour had a scent that was overwhelming and wholly unpleasant. That said, the content of the tour was good. It provided a well-balanced mix of intriguing historical facts about the prison and the technical side of whiskey making. The kids got restless during the tour and actually started brutally kicking each other in the shins. They each had on shell toed Crocs, so you could hear the crunch of bone and flesh beneath each kick. Their parents let it go on indefinitely. The hour passed quickly and was well worth the $14 adult admission. The tasting at the end is not for the faint of heart. They serve hard liquor, and I do mean HARD. My lips were numbing and my face was next. I had to tap out after the third swig! On the bright side, the gift shop is fantastic. They have the most darling items; we walked away with two tote bags and a delicious pink lemonade drink that will be perfect for sharing with friends this summer. This is a unique, affordable way to spend an hour, provided you can handle the heat and the high proof!
