I'm sorry to give this Winco a one star review because I shop here all the time, but the…read moreenforcement of 15 items or less in the self-checkout lane has been frustrating the last several times I've been here. I have two examples so far. My roommate and I came over with 14 items in our cart knowing that we would check out separately (so it was more like 7 items a transaction) and were told to go to the main checkout lanes during a peak time. This was because we put our items in the same cart. Second I bought a bulk item that required I enter the quantity of the item. It WAS sixteen, but it was entering the Bulk # and then typing the number of that item into the keypad. It would have been the same speed for any bulk item. And then after I finished checking out, the self check out employee walked over and informed me that in the future I would need to go to the main checkout lane for that kind of transaction instead. I understand the need to keep express lanes fast, but this feels like the employees have been given overzealous instructions. I will be limiting my shopping here in the future.

I love shopping here at Winco for many reasons: Their like a mini Costco, the floor employees are…read morepretty helpful & quick to answer all your questions (especially when you can't find something), their selection in foods are pretty fresh, the cashiers are pretty quick if it gets really busy enough & the cleanliness in there is pretty good & lastly to stock up incoming supplies is fast. All in all I rate them a 10 out of 10 for their teamwork & knowledge!

Service: 2 stars Cafe: 2 stars Grocery: 4 stars Bakery: 4 stars Meat selection: 4 stars Prices: 3 stars Cafe cooks pretty good authentic Mexican food, but they aren't keeping their pico de gallo or salsas cool during service. They look to be sitting on the tables most of the day. My wife didn't dare put the room temp condiments on her tacos. I took a chance and luckily I was okay afterwards. Service is very much hit and miss. Some workers are very nice, others avoid non-Spanish speakers. One girl had the gall to criticize me for not speaking Spanish. There aren't a lot of workers here at any given time, so finding help can be a little difficult. It's common to find no one manning the register. They carry a lot of groceries considering its not all that big. Includes a large selection of meats, a decent fresh produce section, large bakery, an authentic cafe in the back and maybe a half dozen aisles filled with all sorts of imported processed foods. On the back of the last aisle, they have an interesting selection of authentic salsas and hot sauces. Cookies from the bakery were good. Their Polvorones (three color cookies) are especially good here, slightly chewy which I like, and very tasty. Cooler has a larger than average selection of sodas and drinks from the US, Mexico, South America and elsewhere in Central America. They even carry Inca Kola from Peru which isn't too common. Considering their large drink selection, I wish they complimented it with a few South American groceries like aji sauces and cooking mixes. Prices here are average for Latino groceries. Meat counter is priced a bit high compared to similar markets I'm used to in SLC. They keep a fairly clean place, dining tables always wiped. But some of the shopping carts and baskets are nasty with crud. I shop here regularly for less common cuts of meats and interesting groceries and drinks. Though it has issues, Anaya's is a nice addition to Logan's culinary diversity.
