My wife and I recently went to this office seeking MEDICAL ATTENTION for our 3-year-old grandson!! When we arrived, one of the "receptionists" who checked in my grandson let us know that there was a "problem" with the insurance, so they were unable have a medical professional attend to my grandson's illness "unless and until the insurance issue is resolved." I asked the lady to have him seen anyway, as per his appointment, and we guaranteed to resolve the issue very quickly.
The woman then adopted a haughty, dismissive attitude. She repeated what we already heard her say, and emphasized that "nothing would happen unless and until we solved the insurance issue."
We offered to PAY for the visit and any and all ancillary charges with American Express or other credit cards, but the clerk adamantly REFUSED such offer of prepayment and insisted any payment be made in (untraceable) CASH!!! I have never had anything like this happen to me in 70 years!
The woman was so arrogant and dismissive with us that my wife became very upset. My wife began to argue with the woman, who increased her haughty, arrogant, dismissive and most disrespectful attitude.
Words were exchanged between the clerk and myself as we exited and my 3-year-old grandson still was lacking MEDICAL ATTENTION!!!!!
We went to UT Physicians for MEDICAL ATTENTION for a child, not to soothe the warped ego of some clerk who obviously has other issues. We were ordered to leave the premises, and my 3-year-old sick grandson who needed MEDICAL ATTENTION was NOT SEEN!
THE "PROBLEM" WITH THE INSURANCE WAS RESOLVED WITHIN THE HOUR!!
THE "PROBLEM" WITH THE INSURANCE WAS RESOLVED WITHIN THE HOUR!!
I called and contacted UT Physicians several times by telephone and email to complain about this, requesting an escalation of this complaint to the highest offices in UT Physicians. The only thing that happened was that UTP's "Patient Relations Department" contacted the office manager, who instead of addressing the issues, actually DEFENDED the receptionist's horrible attitude and actions, even though the office manager, who should have gotten involved, did NOTHING to help the situation as it was occurring. She even complained about US! My follow-up phone calls are not being taken and all attempts to further contact UTP have been futile, and it seems that UTP is JUSTIFYING this horrid, disrespectable and UNPROFESSIONAL attitude on the part of the staff and management.
PROFESSIONALISM is SORELY LACKING at this UTP OFFICE!
"This Pandemic has been hard on us all," your doctor told my daughter-in-law as she finally was able to get in to see him. Quite true. It has. But that is no excuse for you people to be hard on US by refusing medical attention for a sick 3-year-old child!
