I finally had enough and made an appointment with Dr. Hummel for my son. We got checked in and saw her in no time. She showed concern for my son and was very thorough in her exam. The previous doctor was very dismissive, so this was new for us. We went over several things and she helped with all of them. Our next appointment was for all three of my kids to have their yearly check-ups and a sports physical for my oldest. This time we saw Dr. Palacios. We started with my youngest and Dr. Palacios could sense right away the anxiety that my daughter was having. She has had terrible experiences at the previous doctor's office. We talked about how to help with that, and she recommended some books about child anxiety for us. My daughter also deals with some major constipation that we've been battling for a while. The doctor had a whole plan for us to do, a gentle plan to tackle the constipation. Dr. Palacios then saw my middle daughter. She raised a concern about how big my daughter's tonsils were. We talked about some sleep apnea issues she was having and how the previous doctor never showed concern. She recommended a pediatric ENT and I am so glad she did. The ENT saw her tonsils and said these need to come out now! Had we not seen Dr. Palacios, my daughter would still have sleep apnea, which can be so dangerous. I will be forever grateful to Dr. Palacios for showing real concern and taking the time to help my kids. My son was next for his sports physical. He had some pain during one of the exercises, so she recommended seeing Dr. Decker who handles more of the sports-related issues. We got in that same week to see him, and that experience was great too. He examined my son and had him do some exercises to strengthen his hip which was hurting. The nurses and the front office staff have also been so great to us. Overall, it has been such a great experience. I wish we had switched doctors sooner.

I have been coming to this pediatrician for 6 years…read more My experience started when I needed a dr to visit my son at Texas Women's. I had picked a pedi but when Dr. McGrann & another dr visited us in the hospital I felt all these warm fuzzy feelings you want for your first baby. Despite the traveling I would need to do to see them, I decided to switch and Dr. McGrann was our pedi for 6 years. She is so incredibly patient and kind and has wonderful bedside manner especially to new parents who feel a little lost. More than once she went out of her way for my kids after hours to help over the phone when we had minor emergencies. She even followed up every time. However, the other doctors at the facility (who you have to see if your dr is out) just we're not my cup of tea. We saw all of them including and a few who have now left the company that I did really enjoy. For those I didn't mind not getting in with our dr. However, since I've had my youngest in the last two years I've had to see a few drs who have made me less than comfortable (one in particular who is brand new) bc I don't have the same views as some of them (like with newly added pokes or getting tubes for my kids). I often felt pressured to get tubes for my kids despite me continually telling them from my own research that I didn't feel like it was the answer for my family. I blew it off and chalked it up to probably every dr would feel the same because I am always asking out of the box questions, looking for alternatives, and challenging the textbook answers. I did deal with ongoing ear infections with both of my children but felt I had gained control of them for the most part. However, they would occasionally get them back if they got a cold. Recently it has gotten to the point where every time I try to schedule an appointment neither of the two drs I prefer (Dr. McGrann or Dr. Savrick) are available at either location I visit. For a while, my daughter didn't take well to antibiotics and they would never kick the ear infection, so we had one long ear infection that we couldn't get rid of. This took place through her 15 & 18m appointments. Then we had a change in work and insurance so we had a period where we couldn't visit. I enrolled my daughter in a new daycare and like many they require a bill of health to attend. I called in July and neither dr was available from what this person told me for months. I honestly was fed up and at this point just wanted something closer and to see an office with a clean slate since I have gone so long not being able to get apts with our drs. I called to ask if I could get the paperwork signed since she had not been sick other than the ear infection and they told me only if we came in, yet they didn't have any apts for months per my last call. A month later when I called to ask again they suddenly had available apts and the office manager was incredibly rude insinuating I was lying about not being able to get an apt and suddenly they had room. I'm blown away. Genuinely baffled. I'm disappointed. I felt strongly that Dr. McGrann was such a wonderful mentor to me as a new mother and am so sad to leave her, but the office situation and the never getting an appointment is not working for us anymore. I will add however, I was always able to get a sick appointment in the same day if I called first thing in the morning & I am forever grateful to how Dr. McGrann took care of my children for the last 6 years. I will genuinely remember her and her patience with me and my children for the rest of my life, that is how kind she is!

All it takes the physicians/owners is to listen to the recorded conversations and make an assessment if the manner in which Ana Pena treats the clients is at all professional. She needs training on professionalism and if being polite is not one of her skills, perhaps she shouldn't work there. Unfortunately, it just happens to be this individual. The young lady who sits in the front desk at the Pearland location is beyond nice and she always greets me and my child by name. I have now spoken with the nurse, MARIA CORTEZ and the manner win which she handled my call was very professional.

I thought maybe they are busy, maybe this and maybe that but honestly I'm starting to think they are purposefully not picking up calls. It is extremely upsetting that you're calling a a pediatrics with a well known name just to be let down cause their customer service sucks and they will never answer the phone. And the fact that they try to refer you to a website, my chart or whatever but don't do nothing to fix their customers service. Sometimes it is easier for people to call.

Hunting high and low for these meds and finally found a place that had them in stock but limited quantity. Medication is a controlled substance so it can't get transferred from one pharmacy to another. Called about 2.5 weeks ago to send the Rx over to the new place and up until today nothing has been sent over. I have called at least 2-3x a week and emailed to no avail. I actually got a call back Friday and was told it would get done, today I called with the pharmacy to confirm if it had been sent over and it hasn't and was told by the staff member, " they have no idea when the doctor can get to it". This is not very assuring for care for a minor with mental health issues. There is no sense of urgency from the staff or Doctor. On top of it, the staff I've talked to about this issue, all but one has been somewhat rude and lack customer service. All Texas children's pediatrics clinics I have had a great experience with but have lost faith in this particular office.
