Dereck quickly connected with us and came out with a one way trap to help the squirrel exit and not return. Once we didn't hear anything for a week he came back out and sealed the squirrel hole. The Pittsfield, Massachusetts branch is a particularly vexing place to deal with. Whoever is in charge there needs to turn in his Sergeant stripes, and perhaps go for corporal, maybe even PFC (private first class). When one calls, as in this morning, all this guy wants to do is get YOU off the phone. He could give a rat's 'patuki', and his phone manner is indicative of such indifference. You know the attitude- it's like yeah , so what, but with that phony veneer to sound nice. Our exterminator did not show up- called in sick. Fair enough. However, the thought of the Orkin Pittsfield office contacting us to let us know, never occurred to this guy. We altered our very, very busy schedules to accommodate this business. What is keeping us with them is their one exterminator employee, John, who is the only one of the Orkin types I will let into my home. The last exterminator never finished the job as I threw him out after catching him in some kind of inventory in my basement. The exterminator before him , we caught not doing the outside spraying-lazy, lazy man. No steak & no sizzle in him either. I harbor serious doubts about ORKIN's policy & procedures regarding new hires, after throwing the dirt-bag doing inventory out of here. What a man needs to know before letting any other man in my home is this: Is my wife safe? Is my home safe? Is the exterminator here in the country legally? As far as we're concerned, this is not a reliable or trustworthy business. Their employee however, John, is welcome here. Does a good job, is focused, and answers questions. The best way to deal with a company like this at the administrative level is to keep your foot right up their ass. On the operational level, they could use a whole platoon of employees like John. The one star is for your employee guys, cuz he represents you so well. I'm a retired military man and have little tolerance for lethargy, laziness and indifference. Letter to Orkin Corporate to follow. They ain't gonna like it.

He saw that not only do we have carpenter bees but we also have a big problem with carpenter ants. Part of the house was being eaten away by the carpenter ants. He was very thorough and knowledgable and I changed over to Thomas. I feel much more confident working with them and am already repairing part of the house that had been being destroyed by carpenter ants that our previous exterminator never even noticed. It has been a few weeks and Josh has visited to install a one-way "trap." This allowed the critters to leave our attic crawl space and then be sealed a few weeks later. He sealed one side of the house first, put traps on the other side and then returned to seal them out permanently. It has been another few weeks and it is still quiet. No noise of invaders running muck in our attic area. Thank you Josh. Would definitely call them again. Price was reasonable for the value of ridding our home of the little critters.

There was rain expected soon after the treatment and he was willing to come back and retreat the area if I noticed any activity after the rain.
