This is honestly my favorite place to get my nails done, the service is great and friendly. They offer drinks beforehand and are very polite and try to get to know you. I love how they do leg/ foot scrubs that come in four flavors: orange, lemon, lavender and one other that I can't remember at the moment. The times I've been there they usually play travel/food shows or game shows on the tv, which can be nice if you like to watch tv at the nail salon. The price is definitely cheaper than a lot of places in the area, and they offer a wide variety of programs, such as coupons and referral programs like: if you refer five friends, you get a free manicure, 8 then a free pedicure, etc. They have free WiFi too! read more

I almost didn't want to write a review because the lady that did my nails was super sweet and it was the week after they reopened from covid closing so I'm trying to give them some slack, but her niceness was the only good thing about my experience here... I got tips with SNS and unfortunately she just did not do a good job. First off she didn't even clean up my cuticles which after two months without a manicure was what I desperately needed. Then the shape of the nails were just not good, they were bumpy and uneven. And the worst part is, after several hours and a lot of $$, 6/10 of them have fallen off only 10 days later!!! Normally these nails last me 3-4 weeks which is why I shell out the time and money for them. Only giving this place 2 stars instead of 1 because of the friendly staff & because they are likely getting back into the swing of things post quarantine, but I unfortunately can not recommend this place, especially for tips. read more

Also had gel manicure and my nails look beautiful..again took his time and care .. filed and shaped perfectly! Let me first start off by saying that I'm a dude and I don't usually get mani's or pedi's but every once in awhile, I do. I wanted to try somewhere new and I decided to come here based off the reviews. Let me start off by saying that I love the set up, the place is nice, quiet, and peaceful. The shop doesn't reek of nail polish, and I truly appreciate that. So kudos to the owner for setting up a very nice environment. I got my nails done by the owner (Trinh) and they came out great. I didn't know anything about buffing my nails, but I actually like it better than the clear nail polish. They look more natural and still brings out the shine in the nails. I needed to find a new nail salon to go to because my regular one changed the staff. Turning to Yelp I found USVN which received great reviews. I also have to agree with the other reviewers. So this place opened back in December. It's well decorated, super clean and bright inside. The prices are reasonable as any other nail salon. I came in to get a pedicure. I had Mimi and she was very patient and took her time with the pedicure. She cleaned my feet really well. A bonus is the sugar scrub. It felt so good! There are different scents to choose from and she recommended lemon which smelled AMAZING. Very refreshing and made my skin feel really soft. I noticed that all of the nail technicians take their time which is good because I've experienced at other places that when it is busy the technicians tend to rush. During the pedicure another lady, Trinh, offered me something to drink which I thought was sweet of her. At the drying station, there are cookies and guava candy. The place is very cute and cozy and the people there are just so sweet! Ivy was the person that took care of me! I love that she listened to my needs and made feel right at home. I've visited this salon twice so far, and have had varying experiences. The first time I visited, I got a wonderful spa pedicure, which came with a free manicure under a promo the salon was doing. Both were done by a technician named Andy, and he did a a great job on both. My skin was left feeling very clean and soft. Andy was actually the reason I wanted to go back. I would give my first experience a 5 star rating, but unfortunately, he no longer works there. I would give my second visit a 2.5 star rating. I opted for a spa pedicure and manicure (the salon is no longer doing the free mani promo). Unfortunately, I did not enjoy the spa pedicure as much, and had to have the manicure redone. The technician who did my spa pedicure, while very nice, seemed very inexperienced. The cleaning and spa treatment was a lot less thorough than the first time I had it done, my feet don't feel smooth, and honestly was not better than a regular pedicure. My manicure was done by a different technician while I was getting my pedicure done. She filed my nails, but they were crooked, so I asked her to make them even, which she did do. When it came to painting, she would only paint part of the nail, which really bothered me. I asked to have the entire nail painted, which she tried to do. She generally seemed to have trouble painting my nails, and at some point gave up, and asked the owner to do my nails for me. The owner was nice about this, and did redo my nails, but at this point it was 8pm, I was the last customer, and they were getting ready to close, which often means a rushed job. As I was waiting for my nails to dry, the technician came to me, and said I could go bc my nails were dry and sprayed a drying spray on it. As soon as I left, my nail smudge bc they were far from dry. I went back in and the owner painted more top coat on to fix the nail, which was fine, but by that point the overall experience felt negative. The plus side about this place is that it's very clean and the owner is very customer service oriented. There are usually only four technicians working, so I recommend making appointments for high peak times. read more

So many nail places around me have gotten so expensive and for some reason I never thought to come to Annandale when I live down the street! I called and asked for the price and they saved us a spot for two for pedicures when I was ten minutes away! I had Trinh I believe and she was super nice and filed my nails in the square shape I wanted! The classic pedicure ($25) came with an exfoliate which we could choose from lemon, lavender, orange, or green tea smell. Never did that before at any place so that was fun! My friend and I were traveling and needed to get our nails done quick. I yelped a place near our restaurant and found this place with 5 stars. This place is small and clean. It was not that busy when we walked in and got sat down right away for our gel mani. So first thing. After the lady filed my friends nails and before the manicure, she did not tell her to go wash her hands and started putting the polish right away. Little weird but okay. Second, my lady out of no where changed the color of my polish and said this color is better...but I wanted black not midnight blue. Third, after our nail was one, we realized a lot of part of our nails were not painted. Not so much for me but my friend's nail looked horrendous. Maybe it is different down in VA...but never walked out of a nail salon with white part of our nails showing due to lack of polish and having polish all over our nails. read more

Very nice customer service and they did a really wonderful job. My pedicure was very relaxing and they took extra time and care with massaging and scrubbing. The prices are pretty good and they have a deal where you can get a spa pedicure and get a manicure for free. They also offer a discount of $10 off once you've had 9 visits. The place is very clean and I never worried about how sanitary it was. My only complaint is that she scraped my ankle up when she was using the pumice stone on my foot. The staff at USVN is nice and attentive. Unfortunately, no amount of kindness can make up for a sloppy gel manicure. As you can see, the polish is applied unevenly, and the rough edges (top and bottom) are prone to snagging on clothing and chipping / peeling. I asked my technician, Tammy, to touch up several parts, but the final product is still very lackluster. My hunt for a reasonably priced, quality gel manicure continues. Update: Upon learning about my less-than-ideal experience, Trinh, the owner of USVN, went out of her way to offer to redo my manicure free of charge. I went back today and Trinh herself gave me a gel manicure. She was very attentive and thorough and did a fine job. I will keep coming back if future manicures can maintain the quality of today's. read more

This place is absolutely amazing. The facility is so clean. The staff are so caring and polite. They have great color selection. The ambiance is very relaxing. I went in there to get a pedicure even though I have a pretty severe back injury. The lady who did my pedicure was so careful and understanding, and made sure that none of the movements aggravated my injury. I got the spa pedicure which is completely worth it. It comes with a hot stone massage, the wax for your feet, and an amazing massage, etc. I left with a beautiful pedicure. I definitely recommend this place to anyone. read more

I decided to try this place just because the person i always go to in a different salon no longer works there unfortunately. I went there, there was displayed $18 price for refill, but the technician told me $23 because my nails are long?!?!?! I was ok with the price, she started doing my nails, never asked me if i want them cut a bit or not i had to tell her that myself. But what really bothered me is that when another person came and wanted to do full set and apparently the only person able to do that was the one doing my nails, she started rushing through the process. I perceive doing nails as something relaxing, i don't like being rushed and more important i don't like a sloppy job. Of course full set is twice the price of a refill so they started dancing around that person, even offered her something to drink, which i wasn't offered when i came, but again that doesn't really matter to me as long as my nails are done good. She didn't even check to see if my nails where even on both hands, when i looked, my right hand nails where longer than my left hand, when i told her about that she seemed a bit annoyed. Anyway, i left that place without nail polish on my acrylic nails and went to the place i always go to get my nails painted and will definitely never go back there again. P.S. She still ended up charging me $23 without my consent for a job half done. Bad place, very bad owner... P.p.s. I've been doing my nails for 5 years now on a regular basis, i know that when doing refill, it takes about 45 minutes for a job to be done good sometimes slightly more. The tech worked about 20-25 minutes on my nails. She might be very fast of course, but no, the reason it took her so little time was because the job was done sloppy. Also, at the place i go to regularly they put all their tools into the disinfecting pouch, not just the ones that are to cut the cuticle. This place doesn't. I assume it's not a requirement because i've been do places that didn't do this either, but i feel more comfortable when they do. When i spoke on the phone with the owner telling i do not agree being charged full price for a job half done, she was talking without stopping, she didn't let me say 2 words. Great experience at this salon, will 100% be coming back, very fair pricing, esp compared to the places closer to dc. They were very attentive, professional and nice. I went on a Tuesday at around 11 and called a half a hour early and I was seen right away. They offered me something to drink and I had a very relaxing pedicure then gel manicure that I am very happy with. They give you a card and 10 visits= $10 off. The absolute worst Brazilian wax job in my life. The lady had no idea what she was doing. She pulled in all directions and repeatedly applied wax to the same spot over and over again. She wouldn't let the wax solidify enough that when she pulled nothing happens except pulling on my skin with some wax left behind. I get waxed often and have very high tolerance to pain, but this was unbearable. I basically told her to stop and just charge me for bikini wax instead, there was no way I would let her go near the sensitive area. She also didn't wear gloves and cut the hairs with scissors that I have no idea what they were used for. Very unsanitary. She was hardly able to clean the area too, I was still sticky leaving the place. And she put baby oil then tried to wax more after.... honey, the wax will not stick on oily skin, I promise I know at least that much. I googled another place and I looked for a place that specializes in waxing, and found European Wax Center (beautiful work with all pain I was already in).... the lady saw down there and was like, "did you look down there when she finished? I mean what happened?"... I looked and saw major bruising on my bikini line.... I was livid!!!! I told myself I should not have paid at all for that terrible experience... I really want to love this place because it's so close to my house and they were able to take me right in without appointment. I got a gel manicure and regular pedicure by Mimi. She was overall an ok technician. She was making small chats and friendly but was also scorned me if I accidentally moved while she's painting my nails. I didn't appreciate it!!! But one of the main reasons why I wouldn't recommend this place is because my 2 big toes were smudged by the time I got home, which is across the street from the shopping center. To make the matter worst, my finger nail polish was peeling off the next day and looks like I had it for 3+ weeks.Mind you! I wasn't doing any heavy cleaning and I put on gloves when washing the dishes. This's the first time this ever happen to me and I'm unhappy to spend 55+tip. UPDATE: within less than 24hrs after posting the yelp review, the store owner (Trinh) contacted me apologizing for what happened and offered to redo it. I returned back a few days later and she was very professional and extremely friendly. And I must add that I am pretty satisfied with her service , my nails still look fresh after several days. I could truly see she puts customer satisfaction her priority. For those reasons, I'm increasing it to 4 star. I will go next time to see how the other technicals are and will update it. read more

Ended up getting the pedicure spa and it was so relaxing! Loved the feeling of the hot liquids and hot stone. The people were very professional and had sense of humor.
