This is the worst post office I've ever experienced. They're the laziest delivery people I've ever seen. Find any small excuse to find something not deliverable when the house is extremely deliverable they just have to get out of their truck, but they're too lazy go into the lobby and they lie to your face and say you have nothing when you have tracking information on your phone that shows that it's there you have to show them the tracking just to get your items that they say are not there read more

The folks from Suffolk may suffer a bit because of this busy post office. This branch located on Main Street running through 460, serves a rather populated area for a larger city like Suffolk, and because of that, the customer service can be lacking at times. Oftentimes the mailing centers are empty or low on supplies. But if you just need stamps or to mail a package, you can skip the lengthy lines and use the convenient self serve kiosk! That's what I do! This P.O. stretches down the block with a brick facade on one side and glass panels on the other. Dropping off mail is a breeze with the half circle one way entry. The hours are from M-F 8:30-5:00, closing for lunch between 12:30-1:30. Saturday shorter hours 10:00-12:00. No passport services at this location. read more

Was due to receive my new Virginia license plates today. Tracked to "Out for Delivery" until the end of the day, well after the rest of the mail had been delivered, when all of a sudden my package status was changed to "Forwarded." WTF?! I've lived here for 2 years! Why and where the hell are they forwarding my plates to? The post office in Suffolk is an absolute joke. read more

I guess no one else wants to write the first review here at the United States Postal Service (USPS) in Suffolk so I'll take the bait. Coming from the post office at Virginia Beach -which is a nightmare every time- walking in here is a dream. One of the perks of living in a smaller town is a fairly quiet post office. It is rarely busy when I come here, except during the holiday season, and even that isn't too bad--as long as you time it right. The staff is friendly and helpful; they close for lunch 12:30-1:30, and their hours on Saturdays are 10:00 AM - noon. Monday through Friday is 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM. The lunch break is a bit of a pain because I always forget, but oh well. However, the lobby is open 24 hours daily for post office boxes and self-service kiosk. There is quite a bit of parking in the lot, and more on the street if it's busy. In addition to this location, there are two other USPS in Suffolk: one in Chuckatuck and one in Driver on Bennetts Creek Pasture; I have not been to either. read more

This is the absolute worst post office I have ever seen. At least 75% of the packages they've delivered in the past seven years, are late. I get a notification in the morning that the package is on vehicle and out for delivery, then, at a very late time (9:24 pm this time), I get a notice that says, "delivery attempted but could not access front door or driveway". What?!? I have motion activated cameras all around the house, and nothing came by, no mail truck, no nothing. I was awake, so I went outside, and nothing, there is absolutely nothing keeping them from accessing the driveway or the door. This is always the case, they always give a BS excuse, a lie. I cringe when I order something and it is being delivered via USPS. Just completely incompetent. Expect a phone call from me in the morning! **UPDATE** I called them, and after about 6 tries and 100 rings, they finally picked up. The driver said it was pitch black and he couldn't see anything, so he didn't deliver. Hmmm, again, no mail truck came to my home, I have the video footage from the entire night. And the truck has headlights, and the street has street lights, and FEDEX delivered two packages the same night. Nothing but excuses, although the lady on the phone was nice, the driver is questionable! We pay for shipping, so we expect delivery. If you know your operations are reduced and packages are delayed, then lower the price of shipping. I should not be expected to lower my expectations while paying the same price for delayed shipping! read more

Two packages, two days in a row where at the beginning of the day the status says out for delivery. Then packages don't get delivered. At the end of the day, the status changes to "Held at Post Office at customer request." I did not request this so how is this possible? The postal carrier has it in the truck and either forgot to deliver it or didn't feel like going back to deliver it so they change the status as if I requested it to be held? You guys are not helping your reputation. read more

I would give this place zero stars if I could. I am so unimpressed with this place. My packages never get delivered to my house, and they don't answer the phone so I have to physically come in to inquire about my missing items. There is no customer service from anyone, because the workers are always so clueless about everything. I'm, personally, going to just start sending my items to my family and friends in other cities to avoid dealing with this place. read more

The hours of operation say they open at 8:30 , it's 9:30 and the doors are locked. Not to mention that they are closed from 12-1 which I don't know why they just don't rotate for lunch so that somebody can be there. Very poor customer service over the last 8 years and it continues to decline. They will lie to your face and over the phone. I have filled numerous complaints to the postmaster, to 1-800 number for post office and through consumer affairs in Richmond regarding my packages not being picked up even with a pick up request being submitted. I have been calling them the last 2 days and at first they were answering and telling me both times the Postmaster is always in meetings so she could not talk and the supervisor was not in the building. I left 2 messages to be called back and still no response and now they have stopped answering the phone. I filled a complaint and had it escalated through Consumer Affairs (in charge of post offices) funny they called this morning multiple times without an answer. They called me back and stated they could not reach anyone and was placed on hold once and no one returned to the phone. It is a shame and concerning that a federal job is allowed to operate like this. This post office had been poorly ran for the last 4 years and shows no sign on improvement. I called a few times earlier in the year and was told by a supervisor "The carriers are allowed to do what they want and they get away with it". read more

Suffolk Post Office is awesome! The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable on all postal matters! The lines are an indication of the great service they provide hands down the best customer service and pricing for all shipping matters! Be patient and respectful and enjoy the discounted service before they are gone and then you are going to pray for a neighborhood post office! read more
