I am in love! Should I say it again? I am in love! Smithfield... you have captured my heart. I'm a…read morebig fan of small, quaint towns with historical charm and Smithfield is one of the best. We're talking small--a population of 8,100 and 10.1 square miles. Like the rest of the area, Smithfield was first colonized in 1634 by Captain John Smith; it was then officially incorporated in 1752. A big part of the town is Smithfield Food, Inc., which is one of the largest employer in Hampton Roads. Ham is important around here! However, there is so much more to do than just eat ham... THINGS TO DO IN SMITHFIELD: * First, stop by the Visitor Center and pick up a brochure about the Porcine Parade (http://www.yelp.com/biz/smithfield-visitor-center-smithfield) * Search for the 8 pigs in the Porcine Parade * Take a walk or kayak at Windsor Castle Park (http://www.yelp.com/biz/windsor-castle-park-smithfield) * See a show at Smithfield Little Theater (http://www.yelp.com/biz/smithfield-little-theatre-smithfield) * Visit the Isle of Wight Museum (http://www.yelp.com/biz/isle-of-wight-county-museum-smithfield-2) * Walk up and down Main Street to see the wonderful shops, restaurants, and sweets * Visit the Old Isle of Wight County Courthouse (http://www.yelp.com/biz/old-isle-of-wight-county-courthouse-smithfield) * Take a tour at St. Luke's Historic Church (http://www.yelp.com/biz/st-lukes-historic-church-smithfield-3) * Have a picnic at Fort Boykin (http://www.yelp.com/biz/fort-boykin-smithfield) * Go fishing at Clontz Park on the Pagan River Don't just take it from me--Smithfield was recently named "One of the 50 Best Small Southern Towns." Take a trip to visit this beautiful, historic town. I think you will fall in love with Smithfield, too.

So - it's USPS, I don't expect much, but this is a doozy of a story. I was in the neighborhood and…read morehad a couple packages to mail. I don't usually visit this location, and had no idea it was there -- just popped up on my map. It's literally the only thing apparently running a very old, run-down, emptied out strip mall. Started off fine -- I had some pre-paid packages that the lady took, and the postage for most of my other was fine, until I got to the last box. I'd anticipated about $20 to ship based on the weight, and the lady working quoted me $34. Printed the quote for me and I decided to leave, thinking I could maybe repackage in a smaller box and get a cheaper rate. Well, I went back after my friend paid me the extra money to ship the package and another clerk quoted me $55 to ship THE SAME EXACT PACKAGE! I told her that was insane since I'd just gotten it quoted the day before. She basically said too bad and told me I needed to quit trying to cheat the post office! So, I said, no thanks -- took the package to a completely different location and they mailed it for $25, no questions asked. I very much doubt I'll return here if I have packages to mail, even if there is no line and you can get in and out fast!

This has been my experience in any post office I've frequented since moving to Hampton roads. Thank you USPS! All of us need to thank the organs in our bodies for working 247, 7 days a week mainly our heart until our last breath. How many people actually thank their Hearts for being the hardest worker on the planet, next to the universe itself. I'm waiting.

I had to be broken up because $500.00 is the highest. Mind you... This was for my rent. So, when I sent this off on August 31, 2023, this was for September's rent, and the rental office kept telling me that they had not received it. So every month it was late, they would add a late fee on there and making my bill even higher. I kept contacting Western Union about this matter. I even sent them a letter telling them what this was all about and how I'm being charged for late rent every month. Still to this day, I have not received my money back, and it is Oct 31,2025. I sent them the 15 dollars so they can do the research. They sent me an email showing that both money orders were altered and cashed. Then I had to submit an affidavit, with it be notarized and dated, which was another $20.00. Now, they are still saying that they have not received it yet. When I say I'm over it and I WANT MY DAMN MONEY BACK NOW! I WILL NEVER USE THEIR SERVICES AGAIN. They sent me an email today stating to via email to the forgery department. So, the original that I sent, I took a picture of both of the affidavits. Now I'm still waiting for them to respond, telling me that they are going to send me my money, because, clear as day, you can tell someone forged their writing on the front over my writing & the back of it with a telephone. To anyone in Norfolk, VA/ Chesapeake, VA/ Virginia Beach, VA, if you get Money orders, please don't take them to the Chesapeake, VA, Post office on Indian River Rd and drop them in the mailbox outside, because my money order was stolen, and my mother's was as well, but she used MoneyGram. I don't know if it's an inside Job or work, but it's crazy. That won't happen again.
