I wish this place would just get shut down already. My parents have lived in Elma for 11 years (I…read morewith them for 6) and we've had nothing but issue after issue with them. The elderly woman who drives the delivery truck ALWAYS delivers to the wrong address. My parents are at 408 N 13th, and since she's too lazy to go into a alley and find the CORRECT HOUSE she'll deliver to N11th, S12th, and pretty much any other 408 in Elma. We've had to go on so many goose hunts to find our packages that people actually have OPENED instead of returning even though their names weren't on the packages!!! What was their response when we confronted them about it? LITTERALLY LAUGHING AT US AND SAID "Oh accidents happen all the time there's nothing we can do about it just go find your packages." WHAT THE HELL?!?!?! If you can't deliver to the correct address then you have NO BUSINESS working for the post office at all!!! As if this isn't bad enough, I was harassed into telling a male employee here what was in my MOTHER'S PACKAGE before he would give it to me. LIKE SERIOUSLY? What business of that is his? Are they even allowed to do this??? I hope you're satisfied knowing that it was her contacts asshole. Also a lady who works here was trying to force me to buy a whole new pack of packing tape just for a tiny spot that she felt needed tape. YOU ARE A POST OFFICE I know you have tape behind the desk you can use because I've seen other employees pull it out many times. The man working with her that day got huffy because I kept saying no to buying more tape and he LITERALLY THREW SOME AT HER AND STORMED OFF. Is this really the way to act in front of customers?! To add to all of this, they are slow as hell, rude, condescending, snarky, have a major attitude problem, and just shouldn't be working with the public. After all the bad reviews I've read on Google and now on Yelp the last few years you would think things would get better here but I have lost all hope for this post office. You guys are seriously the absolute worse.

so in Cosmopolis, there is no way to have your own mailbox. You have to go through the post office…read morehere and if you're like me where you work 9 to 5 job there is no way to pick up any of your packages unless you are there during their work hours because they won't utilize the island that they have in the post office to store packages for people to pick up after business hours, so if you like me and you work 9 to 5 job and if you currently don't have a car like I do I have no car that runs. I have no way to get my packages. I have to take off work and leave work early just so I can make sure that I get my packages and that they don't get returned to the sender so when I talked to the ladies that work at the post office and I simply told them that I have no way to pick up my packages unless they put them in the island for me to pick up after hours they just told me that they are too busy to do that , all I'm saying is they should have a solution for this because it's very frustrating. There is no good shops around here and online shopping for a lot of people. Is there only resort to get the things that they want and at the end of the day this establishment is very anti-consumer they don't have solutions for their problems. They'd rather get mad at the people who simply live here. Trust me living here is not a positive thing so I'm sorry to the employees that are tasked with the painstaking objective of putting away mail. We should all apologize as customers of the Cosmopolis post office for wanting to get our packages before they are returned to the sender since the people at the post office will just hold your package and not try to put it in a place where you can access it outside of business hours I really think they need a better system so people can pick their packages up past 5 o'clock because I am going to have to take time off work just to pick up my packages since they do not listen when I ask them kindly to put their packages in the island for me to pick up. they do not utilize that system at all. They would rather get mad at the citizens of Cosmopolis for simply wanting to get what they ordered , I'd rather shop local but no local store has anything at all except Walmart if I had an alternate way to get mail delivered to a different place, I would absolutely do it. I've had packages arrive, and I've had to argue with the employees about them being there when they insist that they weren't, but I was the one who was correct and the packages were there so you have to be assertive in situations where you shouldn't be, and they also are constantly messing up the Mail system and sending mail in the wrong places I would just keep an eye out if you live here because many times they will give me mail that isn't mine I can't wait for robots to take these jobs. At least the robots won't have an attitude when I ask them just to do a simple task, marines, construction and fireman all bow to the enduring and holy post office worker who has the hardest job on the planet and should be worshiped daily for their unwavering perseverance, and dedication to their country

I know that's kind of morbid, but with a name like Cosmopolis, it sounds super futuristic. There is nothing futuristic about this mill town. It is right next to the water which brings the lumber to the mill which is kind of cool. This post office is small though and has parking on the street and it perfect for the size of this town. The whole town is really clean as well.

I started this review on 1/1/13 so I really need to get it out of my queue. All I can say is that…read morethis post office is right across the street from the Fire dept. & diagonally across from the Grays Harbor PUD. There is nothing unnatural about this office. It's your standard brick and mortar building probably built back in the 60's or 70's. It does have a drive through mail drop off and there is plenty of parking on the street and in the lot as this is a small town. They don't have an automated postal center however, but you would expect that they would not since...they are a small town. Anyway, it's a post office and it gets the job done.

Our mailbox isn't approved(even though we bought it from Lowe's) 2. It's not in the carriers way of travel( it's exactly in the carriers way of travel on the left side of the road) 3. She needs to leave the car to drop in mail( she has never left her car to drop in mail I have security camera proof) 4. The original spot where the box's were for many years is where they should continue to stay for more years because of mailbox seniority 5. Just because it's convenient for us to have our boxes away from the driveway for trailer access doesn't mean anything 6. It's not her problem that the mailbox gets in the way of our driveway as we pull in with semi trucks and trailers, in fact she said it's not her fault we can't drive a trailer 7. She claims that we filled the area behind our mailbox with gravel and when she is pulling in to drop off mail her car will cave in and flip into the field( the gravel has been there for years and it's compact and u can't collapse the soil it's only 1foot deep). Brenda Nickels was extremely distempered over the phone and in person when I met her in the postal office and ended up telling me she was busy and I should leave and she will call me later when there was only one other person behind me in line. When I asked for a list of mailbox placement rules and to show me what it is that we are violating and about the process of mailbox placement she said she didn't have access to that information and couldn't answer my question at the moment. She has now detained my neighbors mail from delivery and refuses to deliver it until he moves the box back to the driveway. Brenda has been extremely unreasonable in handling this situation and prompted in raising her voice numerous times while interrupting me during the conversation while trying to appear intimidating. Her office was unable to provide me with the phone number to her supervisor in Seattle they said they didn't have it. I will be filing a claim because I believe we have been personally attacked by Brenda and her statements and lack of duty and respect.
