Away with the stigma of corrections nursing being unsafe. There are officers present with all patient interactions for safety and security, unlike my time in the ED where I was subject and witness to multiple staff assaults. Low patient ratios, excellent teamwork, opportunities for education and upward mobility, compensation ~20% higher than hospitals in the area, comprehensive benefits (pension, and regence PPO Health insurance) Nursings best kept secret.
