Or you can go inside and one of the two employees can assist you with your basic postal needs. Either way, there's no wait or line of any sort, so you'll be in and out quick. I live a half mile around the corner from this location, so it's very convenient for me! They don't have everything (I didn't see any packaging materials or extra services -- but maybe I just didn't notice them), but it's nice when you're in a hurry and want to avoid the larger post offices, especially around the holidays.

With that said, I've been in much nicer post office buildings, so I can't give 5 stars here. Another thing is customer service. These are government employees. They don't really have to be nice to you.....and I guess they aren't here. There was only 1 employee working here that I could see. This person wasn't being rude, but there really wasn't any customer service either. It's whoever is next in line, come on up. Not sure I would expect any better from a post office, but I'm giving 3 stars as I've been to much better post offices.

I experienced some excellent service at USPS today!…read more Four days ago (Friday) a package arrived for me. I missed the delivery, and scheduled a redelivery online for the next business day (Monday). I also put in a request that they leave the package at my apartment complex rental office since it is staffed and I didn't want to miss delivery while I was at work. On Monday, online tracking showed it was "Out for delivery," so I rushed home and stayed there and waited..and waited. My package ever showed. At 6pm, I called the (800) number to try and figure out why my package wasn't delivered. I was on hold for an HOUR (the recording stated a 20-40 minute wait for a representative) and no one ever picked up. Grrr. Needless to say, I ended up pretty frustrated. Today (Tuesday) I called the Bloomingdale USPS and spoke to someone (woman) about it. She apologized about the redelivery error, but also explained that *I* had to sign for the package. (Ugh.) She was very nice though. I went to USPS this evening to pick up the package. While I was waiting with my baby, he started fussing. A woman came out of the office to see him and interact with him. She ended up asking me if I was picking up a package, and then went to the back to locate it for me. She took the big bag I had brought (to carry it..it's hard to juggle a carseat and big box!) with her. That was so nice!!! She even asked the employee to help me to my car. I did NOT expect that kind of service from anyone, much less at USPS where customer service doesn't usually seem like a top priority. She totally made my day, though, by making things easier for me! I wish I got her name!

I frequent the USPS Roselle branch on a regular basis - several times a week, to be exact and 9 times out of 10, I don't have to wait in line. Service is quick, efficient, and hassle-free. I mean, you still have to deal with grumpy postal workers - that's pretty much universal wherever you go (but particularly so with the Schaumburg branch) - but to their credit, they are slightly less disgruntled than most other locations. Parking is plentiful, and there is a drop box for driver-throughs.

The pros: 1) They open a full hour earlier than the other (east side) Schaumburg post office. 2) Plenty of parking 3) Large lobby space where you can drop larger packages, buy stamps, access a PO box, etc. The cons: 1) Service is all over the place - I've had the friendliest experiences and "I don't give a sh*t" interactions. 2) The actual customer service area is small and narrow and there's often a line. I appreciate that USPS is trying to keep with the times - easier click to ship, convenient pick up, etc but there are still times that you have to pop over to the PO, and this one is fine.

Delivery of my mail and packages have been misdelivered too many time. One package was supposedly "handed" to the resident of another address! Their mistake cost me. And in the last year 3 of my packages were delivered to this post office on time as merchant promised, BUT this post office sent it to the Chicago post office, the Chicago post office sends it right back to them, then they deliver it to me. One package however made it all the way back to the post office of the sender and came back. It's REALLY annoying. Mistakes can happen, but it's sad it happens so often. I avoid package delivery with USPS as much as possible because there is always that 50/50 chance it will be delivered all over the place before reaching me.

Ratchet, Rude, and Completely Unprofessional - Worst USPS Around…read more This Carol Stream USPS location is an absolute joke. Every single time I walk into this place, it's the same miserable, nasty attitudes from employees who act like they're being forced to do their jobs. I've never seen so many people working in customer service who clearly have absolutely no business dealing with the public. The attitude behind that counter is straight-up ratchet. Long-ass nails, constant attitude, eye rolls, and acting like customers are bothering them just by asking a simple question. Maybe spend less time giving people dirty looks and more time actually doing the job you're getting paid to do. It's embarrassing that a federal agency allows this level of unprofessionalism. You'd think asking someone to mail a package was asking them to perform brain surgery. Nobody is asking you to roll out a red carpet. Just do your damn job without acting like the entire world owes you something. And where the hell is management? Does anybody supervise this circus? Because these employees seem way too comfortable treating customers like garbage. If you're that miserable coming to work every day, FIND ANOTHER JOB. Nobody in Carol Stream should have to put up with your nasty attitude just to mail a package. Absolutely pathetic customer service. USPS needs to clean house at this location and hire people who actually know how to treat customers with respect.
