TV news report from June said that this P.O. has a high rate of mail theft reported. I live near and use this P.O. I was a victim of mail theft and check washing. Reported crime to CMPD and US Postal Inspector Service. Went to report theft at P.O. and was nonchalantly told to file a report with US Postal Inspector Service. Filed a claim with USPS regarding a particular mail carrier who was not delivering mail to my box for 1 1/2 months and they still have not resolved my claim. The last person I spoke with from consumer affairs she stated that this particular mail carrier has had several complaints. No action had been taken against this carrier. No call back from anyone as I have had to put a "Hold Mail" request in several times. This location is not for their customers. They are allowing mail carriers to take mail from customers. read more

The post office was closed, I had to mail a package quickly at the self service. For some reason the label wouldn't stick to my package and there wasn't any tape around. The door was open and I asked if I could get some tape. Peggy came out and got some tape for me and told me to carry some in the glove compartment of my car, just in case. Super busy post office - luckily I only had to interact with the kiosk here to buy stamps, but judging by the line and how unhappy everyone looked, it's a process to get something done here. The parking lot is tiny and people with their large Ballantyne SUV's are crazy so just be careful. It is also a little weird to get in and out, even though it appears like it's on the corner of Elm and Ballantyne Commons, it's actually just adjacent so you can really only access it from Ballantyne (and the exit is just one-way onto Ballantyne). There is a business park you can cut around back from Elm, only there are a lot of cars parked on the side street so just watch for opening doors and people crossing the street. This post office has a lot of PO Boxes too so lots of people probably dropping in and out for services here. I would think they would make a larger building, but I'm not sure how that will help the ever-present line (it may make it worse). read more

Today is the second time I have had to go pick up a package they were not able to deliver and the second time they could not find the package anymore. The first time I understood that they are busy and they have a lot of packages but when you leave a note saying to come pick it up asap and when I do come to pick it up and you cant find it, it makes me question whats the point of the whole delivery. "No pink slip, no help" those are her exact words. She will not even look at you. Was directed by USPS Customer Care to visit store to pick up package that has been sitting for a week. She refused to look for or even try to help with the situation. Threw my ID back at her when I advised no I did not have the pink slip. She insisted no one told me to come there. I have to rate this location 1 star on the whole parking situtation as well as the ease of getting in & out of the parking lot. As Bill noted, whoever designed the layout and flow here was a total moron. The location gets 5 stars - it is convienent to my work and home. I would give the service here about 3.5 stars, because the employees are normally pretty helpful here. And if you go at 10 minutes 'til closing time when there is a big line, sometimes the employees are down-right entertaining! There is almost always a line when I go here - so if you are planning a visit, just plan on having a wait if you need full service. read more

Worst customer service. I haven't been, but i was supposed to get a package delivered yesterday, and the delivery man left me a note (didn't knock, didn't try to contact me at all) saying "package too large, pick up at post office" well no, that's why i paid for delivery. I CANT PICK IT UP!!!!!!!!!!!!! So I call the USPS 800 number, and they say "that is within our means, we will have them re-deliver immediately, you should have it by 5 pm today and the supervisor will call you after it has been delivered" waited all day...nothing, at 4 pm, i kept calling the PO and the line was busy, i tried about 15 times from 4 pm until 5 pm. Busy signal. Finally, called today, they answered spoke to the RUDE supervisor, Stuart, and he basically told me in a VERY rude manner, that I have to pick it up. I told him I understand but i dont have a truck, do any of the other PO have trucks? maybe they can deliver, and he goes "YOU DONT LIVE THERE!!!! NO THEY CANNOT DELIVER!!!" I said "Oh but maybe because you're the same company you can ask..." he cuts me off and goes "DID YOU HEAR ME? YOU DONT LIVE THERE, STOP ARGUING WITH ME" i said "I'm not arguing with you, actually I'm speaking as nicely as possible, but you're not trying to help me" and he goes 'IF YOU ORDER A LARGE PACKAGE, EXPECT TO PICK IT UP" and then he hangs up on me. What a jerk. How is this acceptable? He needs to find a non-customer-facing job. Maybe he can sort mail or something instead. read more

In the past I have abstained from posting a review for this USPS location giving the benefit to the person behind the counter that maybe they were having an off day. But it seems to be each time I'm there I encounter somebody who is having "an off day". Today it was a lady by the name of Kai (I think that's how it's spelled) who could not be bothered to even make eye contact with me, was extremely distant and cold to the point that I asked her a question and she looked right through me, said nothing and then started a conversation with the coworker behind her. She did not offer any kind of help with the package I was preparing and the only time she addressed me was to tell me " you have to buy your own tape" (while looking elsewhere) and to give me my total owed. Still maintaining my composure and in a friendly voice I asked her -for the second time- about mail I am getting for a person who no longer lives at my address. After a long pause, she mumbled something to the effect that the person needed to do the change of address. In other words, no help whatsoever. This station is right across the street from me so it is very convenient and there has been a couple of instances when a gentleman there has offered friendly service but he seems to be the only one who has a concept of what customer service should be. It is no secret that the USPS is losing business to other more efficient alternatives. Wouldn't it make sense to train their agents to be welcoming and polite and to offer assistance to their clientele in an effort to retain what little foot traffic they get outside their peak seasons? read more

Has to be the worst PO anywhere , I actually called all day long today from 8:00 am until 5:30 pm and all I got was a busy signal. I moved from Charlotte to Nevada and I have not gotten 1 piece of mail in 4 weeks. After stops at my PO here they said it was the problem in Charlotte, bills overdue, tax refunds floating out there somewhere, wow. To all Charlottean's drive a bit further and go somewhere else. I've actually been to this location several times. I'm a fan of this location for two reasons it's very close to my job and there's a 24 hour self service center inside. Yes, the parking is a bit tight and unusual but once you find your way around the parking lot and a parking space, the staff are always pleasant and even though it's usually pretty busy it never takes me a long time to mail off my packages. Location, convenience and/or lack thereof deserve -5*****. Gracious, they could have done it any way they wanted. Stonecrest and Elm was a clean slate. It never ceases to amaze me how people whom design things can be SO TERRIBLE at their job(s). Wins Charlotte-Metro ball peen hammer award, as in, "I'd like to whack the architect / designer about the head with a ball peen hammer." It's a major facility. No excuses accepted. They HAD to have known better. Again the staff is VERY nice and professional. Something could be done to allow drop-off or a better flow; but, that'll NEVER happen. I've never been to such an unorganized, unprofessional post office. Customer service is apathetic and slow. Line is always to the door. No one EVER picks up the phone no matter how long it rings. Parking lot is also a nightmare. It's a breath of fresh air to go in any other post office. The person that also delivers packages NEVER knocks. Since I have a business that is centered on shipping through the USPS I am very satisfied with their services. I print all of my labels at home and either drop them at the front desk or in the self service slots. If I ever need stamps or to ship internationally, the employees at the desk always know what they are doing. If I ask for something specific they know exactly what I am referring to. Parking is a hassle and there can be long lines during lunch break and around 5pm. read more

This PO is the WORST po ive ever dealt with in my life!! I used to live in "the ghetto" and recently have been able to move up in the world. When I moved to my apartments, within the first couple weeks, they lost 1 package and 1 letter. The mail delivery person keeps putting my mail in my neighbors box and their mail is in mine- EVERY week. The lines are ALWAYS horrible- the po delivery person will not leave ANYTHING in the mailbox- even though it will fit. Try having an 8-5 mon-fri job when the ONLY time to go to the po is on Saturdays and picking up the smallest packages that actually fit in the mailbox!!! The worst customer service, the inside is hot and the building is in desperate need of a paint job inside. I feel like im in the ghetto here, and this is suppoosed to be an upscale part of town. I was expecting a package from Amazon.com today and I received a text from the USPS informing me that the package was delivered and left at the front door/porch. I immediately went out to get my package but it wasn't there. Since I have had previously this kind of problem with the USPS deliveries, I walked to my next door neighbor to check if the package was there. Sure enough, my package was left at their front door. It is unacceptable for packages to be delivered at the wrong house, and it is not the customer's job to have to look for it at somebody else's house. read more

Mail lady name Michelle who delivers mail in the ballantyne area saw me going to the mailbox when she was leaving she did a u-turn came back and parked her car and started an unnecessary argument with me. She then proceeds to tell me to that I'm never going to be anything in life and that I want to be where she is oneday I told her I would report her for starting an argument with me out of nowhere and I asked her for her name she then proceeds to tell me "my name is Michelle and you can kiss my black a** " while shaking it outside for the neighborhood to see then got in her mail carrier truck and drove off. I decided to go straight to the post office to report her for acting a fool on her job but unfortunately from the way it sounds from the manager she wouldn't be dealt with which is why she was fine threatening me and doing what she did. That's really embarrassing for them to continue to keep her as an employee. I wanted to know from them if she told the truth and admitted that she did all of those things for no reason, and most importantly why did she do that. read more
