I understand that there is always an inherent risk of animal access with outdoor storage, but paying $111 a month on the smallest unit available, I expect these units to get an upgrade after 12 years! The bright spot are the two lovely ladies who are in the office; friendly, professional and very helpful. I'm sure they have to take much grief, but don't blame them for the state of the units!

Review for Extra Space Storage, Cicero NY, 5666 State Route 31…read more I was locked out of my storage unit even though my account was paid and current. When I showed up to access my own property, I was told I was not allowed on the premises and that I would be arrested. Staff attempted to treat me as a trespasser at a facility where I was an active paying customer. During the same period, I raised serious concerns about security and unauthorized access. I later discovered signs that my unit had been entered without my authorization. I also became aware of statements made to the fire department about this situation that, in my view, were inaccurate and used to justify actions against me instead of addressing the underlying issue. Communication from management was inconsistent and unhelpful. Instead of resolving the facts first, the facility escalated by restricting access, threatening arrest, and pushing a trespass narrative. Because of the severity of what occurred, I have already filed a lawsuit in court regarding this matter. Customers rely on storage facilities for basic security, lawful access to their own property, and professional treatment. My experience at this location failed on all three. I cannot recommend this facility.

I needed a monthly rental until I found a new home in the city I relocated to. I only used/rented…read morethe unit for two months. And within those two months, mice damaged/infested my mattress, protector, and other belongings. I found damage/evidence on 50% of my things. The staff would not give me a refund and instructed me to go through the insurance company. I also had to kill a mouse on my U-Haul; I was tempted to not even bring the things into my new home. To make matters worse, they knowingly had mice and did nothing to make sure I felt comfortable and to alleviate the stress of my relocation." And I say knowingly because the manager said that they had been trying to get someone out to exterminate the mice but was unsuccessful. This was the worst experience.
