Stopped by USA Produce during our drive back from up north to LA and spotted this cute little market right off the 5 freeway--it was such a great find. My grandma and my mother especially enjoyed stopping here. They had a really nice selection of fresh and dried fruits, and what stood out the most were the unique flavors. You don't usually see combinations like tequila, habanero, lemon, garlic, and tamarind all in one place, which made it fun to try different things. Definitely a nice spot to stretch your legs, grab a snack, and pick up something different if you're passing by. read more

TRUST THOSE WHO YELP REGULARLY Ive stopped at this fruit stand before and usually pick up some nuts or cherries or something in season. The place is well organized, fairly clean, and workers are nice. On this trip, I asked if they have any organic items. The young girl didn't know, so she asked the young boy (the only other worker on site on a Saturday around noon). He too had no knowledge of the produce being offered for sale. I bought some cherries, but was unable to eat them once I got back on the road, because they hadn't been washed/rinsed (dirty). Still can't say if they are anY good 24 hours later. The biggest plus was a super cute gal (customer) entering when I was leaving; I had to say hi. There are two porta potty units for use, which was nice... and the one I used was fairly clean. Fast, funny, and knowledgeable. Value: 3 star. They sell a variety of local dried fruits and nuts but seems like standard prices and quantity. Quality: 4 stars. They have some great honey. Royal jelly, and such. They are short kn their variety of fresh produce. One type of apple and a couple of oranges. The produce is local and seasonal. We decided to drive up to get some fruits & nuts but as we were driving in the parking lot a guy came out from the porta-potty walking towards the produce stand wiping nasal mucus with his bare hand and to find he was working at the cash register. Heading to NorCal or SoCal from the I-5, I would always see this yellow fruit stand and finally during the Christmas weekend coming back from the Bay Area, I was able to stop by and check out the place. There are a few along the I-5 but this one stands out with it's yellow building and a car dealer red tent. So I was able to exit off Ness Ave and followed the sign that led me to the Yellow Brick Road, just kidding, the yellow painted fruit stand! Not much of a surprise when we got there, the same fruits and nuts that you can get along the I-5, the same type of samples that you can get and of course their own private label (just like everyone with a fruit stand!). They do take credit card and there is a bathroom, which is a Port-O-Potty! Also, there is a Chevron near by if you need gas. I guess it was the experience to say "I've been there, done that", that made me stopped by here. There is plenty of parking and if you need to stretch out and walk the dog, or let the kids run around, plenty of space. read more

Walnuts, pecans, almonds, and even gigantic bags of cashews. Coconuts and chocolate covered almonds too. Dried Veggies Salted peas, garbanzo beans, and corn nuts with various flavors. Dried Fruit Kiwi, mango, cranberries, and more. Fresh Fruit There were cherries in the fridge, funky looking but delicious grapefruits, mandarins, and a huge table of oranges. Great place to stalk up on some of the freshest roasted and dried fruits and nuts for the road. This is a huge super cute fruit shop with the widest variety of roasted, flavored, and seasoned nuts and dried fruits of all kind-- literally they have everything. It's about 1 hr north of Harris Ranch Inn and Restaurant on the I-5 highway and 3 hrs out of San Francisco. My favorites were the Yogurt cover almonds, Chile cover dried mangoes, Toffee nut roasted peanuts, and roasted green peas. They also have fresh fruit kept cold in the refrigerators. read more

Small, family run fruit stand. Features local seasonal fresh fruit, dried fruit, large variety of nuts (pistachio, almond, pecan, cashew, peanut, etc., both plain and seasoned), jerky. Sort of hard to find because signs aren't too good, but just west of I-5 exit 385, go 0.3 mi N. Prices are reasonable, they had a special on peanuts when I was these, $1.99 for 1 lb instead of $5.99 (shelled & roasted in various flavors). As far as fruit stands go, this is more on the meh side. Prepackaged almonds, pistachios, cashews, dried (very sugar-soaked-crusty) pineapple slices & papaya spears, flavored corn nuts, pumpkin seeds, dried apricots & prunes. Ranier & bing cherries looked good - cold sodas & water in the fridge compartments did too. Jars of honey all around. The place is basically a big tent, so when it was 98-ish outside, it was 100-ish INside. Have to agree with the other reviewer. We were on our way from San Jose to San Diego on Christmas Day 2011 and got a craving for fruit. Nice place, friendly people, free samples. "Try my oranges", he said. "Try my lemons." We took his advice, and wound up leaving with an armful of of oranges and lemons, among other things. (Have you ever tasted a sweet lemon? Yum.) Very, very good almonds. Very good prices on fruit. The cashews for 2.99 a pound: stay away from them. Those...not so much. It's a bit hidden, you'll need to circle back from the off ramp (if you're on I5 headed south), and you'll need to park in the dirt lot on the North Side. It is very, very simple inside: none of the typical kitsch you'd find other places. Very much worth the stop. read more

Stopped here on our way to Santa Monica from Santa Cruz. Picked up lots of fresh fruit, grapes (large and small, both super sweet), cherries (too soft, from Canada), nectarines and peaches (local and sweet). Then we moved onto the dried fruits and nuts. Pistachios were fresh although not good looking as you get in the supermarket, roasted (aka, fried) peas were good, but by far the best thing are the chile lime prunes. Yes, prunes, as in dried plums for you young'uns. They're just spicy enough to balance the natural sweetness of plums, and small, so three or four will give you the natural benefit that prunes offer. ;) The man/owner was very nice. He sent us out the door with slices of cold watermelon and honeydew from the cooler. I need to see if he does mail order since I only got one bag of chile lime plums/prunes. :( read more

so maybe less than a mile out I notice all the fruit signs.. "strawberries, peaches, grapes etc." so being that I wanted some grapes we decided to exit and buy some. It's a little place and you have to park on dirt so yea ladies I suggest you don't get off if you are wearing some cute shoes! The man (I'm sure he is the owner) greeted us right away and in the middle of the place there is a wide selection of nuts, all kinds of them and you can even have samples! :P unfortunately there were no grapes because it isn't grape season (which I should have known but I didn't so whatever!) I think the box of strawberries was like $16 not so sure anymore since I didn't pay. He also gave us some slices of oranges which were so delicious! anyhow the best part of that visit was the NOPALES outside! or the CACTUS lol everyone that has visited that place have written their names and or lovie doovie msgs you know the whole "so and so love forever" or "so and so plus so and so" etc. TONS and TONS of names and cute messages we couldn't help but to add ourselves on there! lol anyway the fact that the owner hasn't destroyed the trees, you know chopped them off is AWESOME and I give him or whomever owns the place major points for that alone. It's a great souvenir pic! :) and because of it I swore to go back if I ever take another road trip that way. He even has a little faucet outside so you can wash your hands or whatever, no sink folks! but hey at least they have water in case you want to wash your fruit before you hit the road again. On our way home from camping we decided to stop here on a whim. It was hot and dusty but the dogs needed a break and this looked as good as place an any. I'm glad that we did. The other reviewers are right. Don't judge the book by its cover. This place is a hidden gem. Great fruits. They let you taste before you buy. The owner explains how to pick the fruit based on when you want to eat it. (Some we wanted to eat on the ride home, some I wanted for cooking later in the week). They were friendly and knowledgable and made me glad we stopped. read more

I love this little fruit stand! A variety of different delicious fruits and nuts with flavoring. Nice people and great place to chill for a bit if you have been driving for hours non stop. It did not seem that they were open at first since it looked like it was dark on the inside, however, as long as those big doors are open so are they lol. My favorite dried fruit is the chile lemon mango and prunes and favorite almonds were they raspberry and peach. Customer service was excellent! The man ( I think the owner) greeted us at the door and gave us a nice cold sample of the watermelons and peaches. He helped us pick out a good watermelon and answered any questions which I had regarding the fruit etc. One thing that make this a place that I will be coming back to on my way to Los Angeles is the great fruits and nuts as well as great customer service.! read more

We were traveling south on I-5 for gas and stopped off to get some fruit. We were greeted with ice cold cut watermelon and samples of other fruit. The owner proceeded to show us how to pick watermelon (not the traditional way by just knocking on the side) and we left with our arms full of delicious sage honey harvested from his bee hives. read more
