This place is amazing! A lot of Mexican snacks, organic fruits, raw organic honey and more! I love passing by when coming or going to the Bay Area. Next to the 5 freeway right off the exit!

TRUST THOSE WHO YELP REGULARLY Ive stopped at this fruit stand before and usually pick up some nuts or cherries or something in season. The place is well organized, fairly clean, and workers are nice. On this trip, I asked if they have any organic items. The young girl didn't know, so she asked the young boy (the only other worker on site on a Saturday around noon). He too had no knowledge of the produce being offered for sale. I bought some cherries, but was unable to eat them once I got back on the road, because they hadn't been washed/rinsed (dirty). Still can't say if they are anY good 24 hours later. The biggest plus was a super cute gal (customer) entering when I was leaving; I had to say hi. There are two porta potty units for use, which was nice... and the one I used was fairly clean. Sure, stop on by and give the place a try. It's next to a Chevron gas station.

Atmosphere: 3 stars. Has some porta potties. Mostly tables and shelves filled with dried foods. Service: 5 star. His name was Oscar. He is the superman of the fruit stand. Fast, funny, and knowledgeable. Value: 3 star. They sell a variety of local dried fruits and nuts but seems like standard prices and quantity. Quality: 4 stars. They have some great honey. Royal jelly, and such. They are short kn their variety of fresh produce. One type of apple and a couple of oranges. The produce is local and seasonal. So the lack of variety is due to the season.

Heading to NorCal or SoCal from the I-5, I would always see this yellow fruit stand and finally during the Christmas weekend coming back from the Bay Area, I was able to stop by and check out the place. There are a few along the I-5 but this one stands out with it's yellow building and a car dealer red tent. So I was able to exit off Ness Ave and followed the sign that led me to the Yellow Brick Road, just kidding, the yellow painted fruit stand! Not much of a surprise when we got there, the same fruits and nuts that you can get along the I-5, the same type of samples that you can get and of course their own private label (just like everyone with a fruit stand!). They do take credit card and there is a bathroom, which is a Port-O-Potty! Also, there is a Chevron near by if you need gas. I guess it was the experience to say "I've been there, done that", that made me stopped by here. There is plenty of parking and if you need to stretch out and walk the dog, or let the kids run around, plenty of space.

Don't let the run down looks of this stand fool you. This is an Excellent fruit and nut stand and its worth a stop. What do they have? Nuts All kinds of nuts. Walnuts, pecans, almonds, and even gigantic bags of cashews. Coconuts and chocolate covered almonds too. Dried Veggies Salted peas, garbanzo beans, and corn nuts with various flavors. Dried Fruit Kiwi, mango, cranberries, and more. Fresh Fruit There were cherries in the fridge, funky looking but delicious grapefruits, mandarins, and a huge table of oranges. Prices were cheap to reasonable. Don't miss the open bags with samples.

I wish the stuff came in larger bags. Otherwise, it's a nice collection of good stuff.

All the fresh fruit was refrigerated, with the exception of the $8 watermelons. May be good if you're looking for nuts or dried fruit.

4 stars for Casa De Fruta & 5 PHENOMENAL STARS FOR RIC!!!!!!!…read more My family and I have driven past Casa De Fruta on numerous occasions and never thought to stop by and check it out. Located in Hollister, this is a well known family owned attraction. Here you will find a market, a restaurant, and some fun kiddy attractions. The attractions are what brought my family and I here. After seeing social media posts about the activities, I knew I had to take my toddler here to explore. Fun attractions available are: 1) Casa de ChooChoo 2) Casa de Carousel 3) Gem Mining 4) Casa de Playground [a whole playground kiddy structure] We purchased tickets for the carousel and the train ride. The carousel seemed a little outdated and could use a little bit of maintenance. some of the seating rocked a bit- nothing unsafe but definitely had some unexpected movement. Casa de ChooChoo was by far our most favorite attraction. At $5 a ticket, this little train takes you all around the property. This was a good 12 minute ride so you aren't rushed to get the next load of riders on. The views aren't anything amazing but the seating is comfortable and you get a nice break from being on your feet. Popular purchasing staples include: fresh produce, dried fruits, spiced or candied nuts, & CDF's pomegranate wine. We walked away with some pink pineapple, assorted jerky, candy, & caramel apple. I'll have to come back and try their pomegranate wine again because of all the raving- I got a bottle a few years back as a gift but didn't enjoy it at all. Hopefully my palate has become more refined with time. LMAO! Shout out to Ric. Thank you for the delicious samples and even better convo!! You shine in a store full of staff, you are my favorite part of my very first visit to Casa De Fruta.

This recent visit was disappointing enough that I feel it needs to be shared. Customer service was noticeably lacking. When we got to the front of the line and realized we forgot something, the woman at the register rolled her eyes and let out an audible sigh, even though no one else was in line. It felt unnecessarily rude. Throughout the store, employees were unhelpful and unapproachable. We tried to ask a question to a young tall man who clearly worked there, but he completely ignored us and just kept walking. Later, we asked a Hispanic man working in the back for help, and instead of answering, he gave us an annoyed look and walked away. It was uncomfortable and made us feel like we were a bother just for asking. To top it off, one of the two avocados we bought was completely rotten inside. The store itself didn't feel clean. Shelves had layers of dust, and we wandered around without a single person offering to help. Prices were shockingly high, especially considering the poor experience. Nob Hill is just down the road and offers better service, better prices, and a cleaner environment. I usually don't leave reviews unless something is exceptionally good or clearly disappointing. Unfortunately, this was the latter. I hope they get their act together, because this used to be a decent spot. But right now, I can't recommend it to anyone.
