People who work here are always so nice. Please keep in mind the market is separate from the restaurant that is in there so there may be a mix of reviews. For the market; Meat quality and prices are great. The cheese the cubeta is bomb and always fresh! Great selection of stuff! The produce too is fresh and good. The people who work here are always so nice and ready to help. Love having this local place so close to our neighborhood. We come here for our chicken and meat products - we do not go anywhere else. Oh and let me tell you - the chicharrones they have In those bags : soooo good! Better than any other little market around here! We love them and don't buy them from anywhere else! I was on the hunt for masa and fresh corn tortillas. They are constantly making their corn tortillas, and also flour tortillas. I was able to snag them both while still hot! I also picked up 2 bags of masa. Was able to make my own corn tortillas at home and sopes. Everyone was friendly. read more

Fine burritos and a nice little supermarket. I love the homemade tortillas. You can actually see them making them, the conveyor belt moving the new tortillas into the oven. For less than $9 I got a carne asada "super" burrito (largest burrito). Much better deal than a Carl's Jr meal I almost got today. Glad I walked out and came to my senses. It helps to get off HI-152 and check out what is really available in Los Banos. Otherwise you're eating with tourists passing by. read more

I haven't had a chance to try their restaurant area, but their grocery is well-stocked. They are very friendly & within walking distance from my home. Very large selection of fresh fruits & vegetables at reasonable prices. They have an extensive fish & seafood section at the rear of the store, but I'm allergic to shellfish so I steer clear of it. What I saw is high quality, fresh and well-displayed. I've seen the meat company delivering a few times when I've passed by. Like the other reviewer said, they are well-known for their taqueria and it's best to order in advance or be there early. Tamales sound good to me. read more

I would like to formerly complaint to the appropriate management Dept. On the way the restaurant attendants mis treated me as a customer today. I've been a loyal customer since I moved from San Jose which is more than 2yrs ago and today the staff was very rude and unprofessional. I have been a waitress at a well know restaurant in San Jose and yet I have never received a complain from a customer on the contrary I get a daily dose of great feedback maybe Management from La Morenita should consider making this a priority. I came in and a placed an order at 11:10am because I needed the food for lunch time. As I'm sitting for my food 8 gentleman came in and put aside my ticket and began to take their food orders, while they were still paying for their food it was getting prepared leaving my request till they were done with theirs. I politely spoke with the cashier and her response was oh well you have to wait because we know them personally! She got upset for me even saying that it was wrong and began to prepare my food and once done they threw it at me in a very rude way. If this is the customer service you guys provide to your regular customer I will make sure that I let my family and friends know not to ever come and purchase anything from your store. I will also be putting a formal Complaint to the Better Business Beuru as I have never been this upset with a business before. read more

I went in one day to check out this new Mexican supermarket and got hooked on the place. They have a nice carniceria and wonderful produce at reasonable prices. Well-lighted and very clean business. A warning, however. Because it is a Mexican market, it caters to Hispanic tastes, so you aren't going to find the meat cut the way you do at, say, Save Mart. Lots of thin sliced meat. That said, you can get seasoned meats for making different dishes as well as unflavored. The produce is somewhat limited, although as I said, very good and priced well for what they have. I needed some pork for something I was making the other day and got a three pound boneless leg of pork roast for $2.09 a pound to cut up. They make their own tortillas there and I pick up fresh ones all the time. Those who want flour tortillas will be disappointed, as they don't seem to make many and are always out, but the corn tortillas come in two sizes, regular and small. Sometimes they are still warm in the package when you pick them up. They have a deli section to get burritos, tacos and such also. Reasonably priced and tasty. You'll have to wait with the cops, bus drivers and everyone else at lunch time to get your order. They have gotten quite popular. read more

The burritos are good. Tacos good. I don't recommend the quesadilla unless you like cooked lettuce. Also the price list on the overhead board is not what they charge. It said one price and I was charged more. When I asked about it, the girl said it was wrong and had a little piece of paper under her register with a different price list. Really!! I didn't argue, I was on my lunch-break and waited about 20 minutes to place and get my order. While I was waiting in line another employee came over and helped a man standing behind me who had just gotten there. Really!?! read more

I am disappointed with the over the phone customer service provided by this store. According to their store policy, they do not allow themselves to give prices over the phone. This is an inconvenience because I like to compare prices before I go grocery shopping. Even though they're just as close as all the other grocery stores, I'm not going to spend the time going around to different stores comparing prices. Therefore, I'm giving them a one star for this inconvenience because any other store would have gladly "over the phone" answered questions as simple as this one. read more

BEST Taco/Burritos closest to 152/I5. LOCAL GEM I enjoy the asada tacos w/cilantro, onions, salsa & lime. Simple & delious!  For 1.50 you cant go wrong. 3 tacos is perfect! They have some really good prices on some items for being a small market. Their water is pretty cheap and beer can sometimes be cheaper there too. You can buy masa for tamales and if you're vegetarian, you can ask if they'll make a special batch for you with oil instead of lard. During the holidays they usually have it. read more

I really like this store because its meat department cleanliness. I've never really eaten there other than just having an horchata and by the way was good! On weekends they BBQ chicken and that's really good! I mainly always come in to buy meat and they have a very fresh selection. They will cut it for you any way you need them too. They also marinade your Carne Asada if you want them too but remember to ask. The tortillas there are very fresh because they make them there daily. I would like to see yellow corn tortillas in the near future. There red salsa there is yummy. They sell it there by the meat department.. Spicy but good! read more

This is hard because I love the stores meat and tortillas even the food in the taqueria is really good. So why only one star?? The wait time is stupid! This morning my husband went in for an order of menudo to go. They had menudo prepared in the pot he waited an hour and half before walking up and handing over his receipt. They did apologize and said they were super busy..... Too busy to ladle menudo into a to go cup?? He had already paid as that's what you do here order, pay then wait for your food. They didn't tell him it would be over an hour wait when he paid. When he said he was leaving they didn't even offer him his refund. He was too pissed off to have waited for them to refund already but at least offer. When someone does not get what they pay for give them their money back!! This isn't the first time we have had to wait some ungodly amount of time for an order. I recommend this taqueria if you have time to wait all day or if you know what time to come when it is slow and they can get food to you in a reasonable amount of time. If not there are too many other taquerias in town that can help you much faster with comparable food. read more

My husband & I just stopped by this market while vacationing & locked our keys in the car, along with our phones. The wonderful people in this market were so kind as to help us contact AAA. The market is immaculate, the owners & staff the finest & we can not say enough about the meal that we had while waiting for help. Wish we lived closer, because we will dream about the food.
