My grandma and my mother especially enjoyed stopping here. They had a really nice selection of fresh and dried fruits, and what stood out the most were the unique flavors. You don't usually see combinations like tequila, habanero, lemon, garlic, and tamarind all in one place, which made it fun to try different things. Definitely a nice spot to stretch your legs, grab a snack, and pick up something different if you're passing by.

I…read morewas attracted by the variety of (especially) fresh fruit and some vegetables, while my husband immediately headed to the area with all sorts of nuts. A few of the items that we purchased were bargain-priced. For instance, we got four gigantic fresh and sweet navel oranges for only 75-cents/lb., tasty white corn on the cob (4/$1, for the first 12), and small avocados (10/$1, limit 20). We also got yummy fresh apricots, pecans in their hard shells, and quite a few bags of roasted nuts for snacking. The market was clean and well-organized, and the young woman at the check-out counter was very friendly. After checking out, we enjoyed some apricots at one of their roadside picnic tables that was set up next to a small garden. Parking was sufficient, even for our small class B RV.

We stopped by Casa de Fruta after attending the Norcal Renaissance Faire this past weekend. The…read moreplace offers fudge, ice cream, jerky, wine, nuts, fruit (both fresh and dried options), and miscellaneous merchandise. Carousel and train rides are also available for guests. We had a pleasant time walking around and checking out the ducks and turtles in the lovely pond near the playground. Then we explored the area and purchased some cold beverages, chili lemon mango dried fruit, hot crispy beef jerky, and chocolates (reduced-sugar dark chocolate almonds and mint chocolate almonds). The lower sugar content in the dark chocolate almonds was definitely noticeable, but they were still good. And the mint candies were unique and enjoyable. The different buildings offer some of the same items. For instance, chocolates can be found in the main store, in the wine and deli shop, and in Casa de Sweets which serves ice cream and coffee delights too. And both the main store and restaurant have pies for sale. I appreciate the variety of offerings on site, as well as the scenic atmosphere for doing some shopping, eating, and spending quality time with loved ones.

The roadside appeal was fantastic and definitely caught our attention! We decided to grab some lunch and, of course, couldn't leave without checking out the gift shop for a bottle of wine. We were seated pretty quickly and our food came out in a reasonable amount of time, but unfortunately, the service was a bit underwhelming. Our waitress never really checked back with us, and we eventually had to flag someone down just to get a refill. BUT... the outside of this place is AMAZING! There is so much to see and do! A beautiful pond, water wheel, train, carousel and plenty of fun things to explore. It really makes for a great little stop while traveling. The gift shop was fun to wander through too, with wine, nuts, dried fruits and all kinds of cute little knick-knacks. We'll definitely stop at Casa de Fruta again when we're passing through--but next time, we'll probably skip the restaurant and stick to exploring, shopping and enjoying the scenery! Another fun little stop added to our California adventures!
