Shoutout to the fruit guy for my peaches and plums and freeze dried peaches! Your green plums are freakin' amazing and worth the weight in gold! My sister bought from the bee/ honey guy. Overall it was nice, just mega small. We are from San Diego and are used to larger farmers markets. I would have thought that a farming community like Merced and the surrounding areas would have a bigger turn out of sellers.

I…read morewas attracted by the variety of (especially) fresh fruit and some vegetables, while my husband immediately headed to the area with all sorts of nuts. A few of the items that we purchased were bargain-priced. For instance, we got four gigantic fresh and sweet navel oranges for only 75-cents/lb., tasty white corn on the cob (4/$1, for the first 12), and small avocados (10/$1, limit 20). We also got yummy fresh apricots, pecans in their hard shells, and quite a few bags of roasted nuts for snacking. The market was clean and well-organized, and the young woman at the check-out counter was very friendly. After checking out, we enjoyed some apricots at one of their roadside picnic tables that was set up next to a small garden. Parking was sufficient, even for our small class B RV.

This time around we picked up some berries that didn't disappoint. They have a lot to offer and some stands have long lines (I assume that's a good sign). What I love...no dogs allowed in the market, it makes the ambiance more pleasing (for me personally). Worth a stop for sure. The only downside...no coffee dealers but then again, I go to ACME in seaside for the best coffee in the area.

Maybe Seaside/Sand City is getting bigger and Salinas is a world apart) There are others such as the one in downtown Monterey à la Alvarado Street but this looks to be the one in the mall parking lot. Luckily this mall isn't full the majority of the time (if ever?) because the parking lot is enormous and provides enough space for vendors. Little pricey for a farmers market. However, I did end up purchasing some salmon fresh off the boat, brought it home and cooked it that evening. ~$30 per pound so like I said, a little pricey. But dang it was good. The "Del Monte Market" location and the "Monterey" market are the same place according to the website. The parking lot of the mall. Who knows...

Even some really amazing talent that sings, plays instruments etc and sets the vibe off! Parking is easy, walking 1 block or less depending on where along the market block you park and time you go since it gets busier from 10am on.
