What a fantastic job they did. The reason we did not give a '5' is that sommunications were scrambled and incomplete resulting in a higher cost than contracted for. But the owner was very helpful to make everything right. Communications were also a problem because the flooring team seemd to not speak English and thus we could not effectively communicate with any of them. They were courteous, stuck to the project timeline, hard working, and wore masks. They paid special attention to moving our larger furniture pieces (fee involved) and putting it back when the floor was ready.Overall we are very pleased. read more

Had to constantly correct issues on workmanship and had to back charged them for damage material caused by workers and extra fees for material that workers damage for inexperience. Just ok. Price was competitive and 3 rooms were done in one day, but I would have preferred they take more time to do the job thoroughly. The floor buffer hit the hallway carpet in front of each room so now I'll need to replace that sooner than expected. There was paint on the floor in one room and they cleaned/replaced one board but not the others, so paint is still visible. When speaking with the owner about timeline he complained about how much overhead he has, thats why he does the work in one day. I think that kind of thing is unprofessional to complain to the customer about. Time/budget wise this was great, but I learned you get what you pay for. read more

National Carpet & Flooring (Crofton) contracted USA Pro Floors to refinish our hardware floors. What I was hoping to be a fun experience turned out quite differently. We would not recommend them for this type of work based on our experience. Overall, poor quality of work. Reasons for this low rating are: 1. Poor quality of workmanship - for example sanding that made the floor very uneven in many places. Stairs that have deep gouges on the side of treads or nose of treads, uneven stain application. Dust under the topcoat. Some areas of the floor are so uneven you can feel the dips when you have socks on. While they did try to fix most of the issues, some were so bad that would require the entire floor to be sanded down to bare wood. The upstairs was pretty good but the main living area and entryway that everyone sees was not good. 2. The project took 2-months even though they initial said 4 days. Even at 2-months there were still quality issues. We provided many opportunities for them to fix issues and was very patient and worked with them on the schedule. In the end, they made is sound like we were being too critical, but they were not willing to come out and look at the quality of work. 3. National Carpet does not do the work, they sub-contracted it out to USA Pro Floors. There was very little communication between these two companies, and I was forced to do all the communication with multiple people at both companies. 4. USA Pro Floor workers would come for an hour. We were never really sure when they would be here and if they would show up. There was no supervision on the workers or the quality of work. When I asked for someone accountable to come see the work, the request always went on deaf ears. This was offered to both companies. 5. The last week they were here, they kept assuring me the work would be done while we were gone. We came home and the work was not done. They would provide estimates to complete the work, not one was accurate. Maybe they were too busy, but my job felt like it was the filler job, always. It was every corner mold in the house. I was not happy with the job. They were unprofessional and also left trash in the yard.

The one star is generous. My experience was horrible. The person came to my home and went through every room and provided an estimate. I clearly noted that I would need them to move the furniture. We worked out a date and the timing for the job and a contract was signed. I paid the deposit and left the check for the second installment AS requested in an envelop in my mailbox. They arrived on the scheduled date and started the job. I received a call two days in asking for when I planned to pay the deposit and installment payment. That was a red flag. I noted that I paid already and had copies to prove it. I then get a call from a different person saying that all is good. Later that day I get a call from a person saying they are the owner and that I should not talk to the person in charge of the work on my house as they think he is embezzling money. He then asked why I gave a 2nd check without a recipient. After telling him off I noted that I do not write blank check. He then texted me a copy of my installment check with the company name and a second check that did not have the companies name and was from another person. I noted that he sent confidential information from another customer. After a back and forth I was told that the family member that was leading my job was being reported to the police for stealing thousands of dollars from the company. They asked that if he called that I should not talk to him and the final payment should not be given to him after the job. Well all this is not my business. I just wanted my floors completed. The job was to be done by that point in two days. I get a call the next day that there was a delay because I had too much furniture. I told them that was their fault. Their cousin or brother or whoever toured my house and gave a quote based on the furniture movement. They would have to deal as they would not get additional money and I wanted the job done as stated on my contract. The person who I was not supposed to talk to was also calling. It became too much as I did not sign up for DRAMA. Fast forwarding - The floors were not done on time. I finally told them to put the furniture back and to get out of my house. The job was done but the floors were not yet dry. I did not care. I just wanted them out. Was tired of all the calls from different people and trying to figure out who I could or could not talk to. The family in fighting was too much. I strongly recommend that you not use this company. read more

Do not use this company. Leone is dishonest. Never received a written quote nor a contract. Fired them after they completed a room and became so angry I told them not to come back. The floor was the wrong color and I then had to redo the hallway because they usedredstain and it bled from the living room to hallway. Had 3 other companies come to give me a quote to finish the work. They all said that this was a poor job. There was no sealer put on the floor., the wood had not been "popped" and therefore did not match the wood in the hallway. I refused to pay them. Leone was threatening, sent email, showed up at my home, called me multiple times each day. Filed a complaint with HIC about this company. I get a bill for over $4,000 for labor for a 12x12 room for wood floors then he turns around and sends a bill for$5,400! Do not use them!!! read more

Hired Leone for kitchen and living room flooring install. Kitchen tile was promised to be done in two days. However, he sent only 1 guy for half the job, so 4 days were required to complete it. Had to use 3 vacation days and all day Saturday. He also didn't disclose all the materials required for the job in the estimate. He calls me up day before the install and asks if I bought X, Y, Z items. I am not a contractor so I don't know what I need to provide. Should have been more up front with me. When the bill came at the end, I questioned some of the charges, and all I said was that next time he shd tell his customers exactly what materials they need to provide or will be charged for. Example, charged for glue even though installation was part of the quote. Instead the guy gave me an attitude and said I was lucky he wasn't marking up the prices for the materials! I said, I was just trying to make a point, and told him it was fine and paid the entire bill. I tried to schedule a time for him to work on my living room as we had discussed weeks prior. Leone never called back, even after multiple attempts by me. I had even bought all the wood ready for install. Have the guts to tell me you don't want to do the job, if that's how you feel. No matter...I installed it myself and saved a ton of money in the process so thank you for that. Only reason im giving 3 stars is that the guy José and his partner who did the kitchen tile did a great job. read more

I found USA Pro Floors LLC on Google just looking for a company to redo my floors, stairs, and railings. Most companies who redo floors don't redo railings but USA Pro Floors LLC does. When he came out and took measurements he was extremely quick efficient. Leone was very friendly and personable. He told me it would take about four days but was finished in two. We came back and everything looked fantastic! There were a couple minor issues with the roughness of the railing and the color of the transition pieces. I mention this not to show a problem but to show the way in which these issues were handled. I contacted Leone about the issues and he knew exactly what the issues were and the best way to fix them. He had two gentlemen come back out within a couple days and in a matter of a few hours, the issues were completely resolved. These were very minor issues but he knew we were bothered by them and wanted us to be 100% satisfied so he didn't waste any time making sure everything was just how we wanted. When it comes time to redo any other floors we have, we won't even hesitate in contacting USA Pro Floors. This is the best flooring company I have dealt with. The prices are very competitive but the professionalism and friendliness is unmatched. If you are looking to get floors or railings redone this is the only company for the job! Leone and his guys did a decent job refinishing our downstairs hardwood floors, except when it came to repairing some bad spots in the finish. We noticed some chunks of hairs from their paint brushes in 3 areas and asked Leone if he could remove them. No problem, he said. Little did we know . . . ! Three guys came over one night to do the work. None spoke English. We managed to convey the problem to them, and they began sanding the affected areas. REALLY sanding them. Sanding them big time! What started out as several 1/8" x 1" problem areas turned into 6" x 6" problem areas, because they put on a high-gloss finish when they should have used a matte finish. After a few days, we called Leone to tell him about these new super bright areas in our floor, and Leone told us it was just the fact that the urethane would take a few days to dry down. Give it time, he said. We did. A week later, those 6" x 6" spots could not have been more shiny if you had put a spotlight on them. Several weeks later, we managed to get Leone to come over again and have a look. He agreed - wrong finish, so let's have a do-over! Great! The next week, that same group of non-English speakers showed up and sanded the 6"x6" areas into 12"x12" areas! WooHoo! Our problem areas were growing and growing! So, they applied the correct finish, but still the shininess did not dry down. Not after a few day, nor after a week, as Leone said. Nor after 2 weeks. Now we were into 2 months after the floor had been finished the first time, and we now had these huge shiny spots on the floor that you could not avoid seeing. We were trying to get this house ready for an open-house - it was going up for sale in another week. We called Leone again in desperation - this time, he said he would send out his "repair expert". Huh? We thought we had his "repair experts"! Nope - Leone said he had a guy who knew how to fix these problems. Well, Leone, why didn't you send him to us in the first place, rather than sending a group of guys who not only did not know how to fix the problem, but actually made it worse (and worse)!?? So, Leone's Repair Expert comes over, carefully sands the 3 areas, applies some mystery chemical that totally removed the Gloss over Gloss over Matte urethane finishes in those 3 places, re-does them with the correct urethane, and a week later, the spots are about half as shiny as they were, but we called it quits - close enough. Let the new owners fuss over it if they want to - we have had enough with Leone and his circus. Couple other things about Leone & Co. When he came to initially to do the walkthrough to quote the job, he said he would move the fridge and the stove and downstairs toilet and finish the floors as well in those areas. When I came to inspect the work the night before the finish was going on, none of those areas had been sanded and prepped. The fridge was still right where it was, and the guys had just sanded up to it. Same with the stove. Same with the toilet. I called Leone and reminded him of his promise (and statement that THEY ALWAYS DO UNDER THE FRIDGE AND STOVE, AROUND AND BEHIND THE TOILET). He acted like I had insulted him, and insisted they were not done sanding and had only stopped there for the night. (Completely false - the guys told me they were done sanding and vacuuming, that they were putting on urethane first thing in the AM.) Leone was just lying to me to cover up the fact he was having them take a short-cut. This explained why Leone insisted that no one from my family come into the house until the work was completely done - he did not want me to know about his short-cuts. So, next day, he had his guys move the fridge to finish the floors under it. Bad mistake on my part. That fridge was a brand-new stainless steel, French door unit - by the time Leone's guys got it back in place, it was scratched so badly I considered replacing the thing - an $1800 unit that was not even 6 weeks old. Leone said the scratches didn't look bad, and offered to have one of his guys treat it with steel wool. Uh-uh! No way. Don't touch my fridge, you fools. Real estate lady said, Hey, let the new owners live with it . . . As much as it felt really wrong to go this route, I did, as I did not have any other good choices. Bottom line - Leone is a liar when it suits him. Don't trust him, AND verify everything you have agreed upon as the work progresses. He will try to hide any omissions. He is super slippery, and not trustworthy, and I think may also be vindictive, as well. Perhaps that is why he sent those guys over to screw up our floors when we pointed out the junk on the floor in 3 spots that needed to be removed. Leone's Revenge! read more

I preface this review saying, I often read reviews and wonder if the reviewer was too picky, and try to give the company the benefit of the doubt, everyone can make mistakes. The best part of this was the estimate, after which it completely went downhill. This is a small family owned business, upon inquiry for estimate, Isabella, the mother, scheduled me for within the week. She was a little late showing up, but was very informative and engaging. She took all the measurements, talked about the process, and the deposit for scheduling, and I received my estimate within 3-5 days. After which, all of the experience was bad. We were scheduled to begin work on Monday between 8 and 9. By noon on Monday and numerous phone calls, no one had arrived. Around 1 pm, Franko the son, arrived and apologized someone had called off of another job, so he had to fill in. This would have been fine with us, we realize things come up, but we were not notified, and when my husband tried to contact Isabella, she could not locate her son. Two people showed, Franko and another worker, who were supposed to move all of our furniture, which we had agreed to pay for in the contract. Well due to the lack of man power and the time of day, my husband had to help move the furniture to get the job started. The two men then started sanding the floors, and did seemed knowledgeable in what they were doing. Tuesday morning again the workers were to show at 8:30, Isabella calls at 7 to say her son would not be coming because he had to go to the hospital, and the other worker did not have a driver's license so could not come to us on his own. Again, things happen, but we were not getting good vibes, but at least they communicated. Wednesday, again showed an hour late, with an excuse that he should not be here today because he is sick, but he had to get the job done. Worked through the day, and clarified before it started again that there would 3 coats of oil based stain placed, and Franko said yes. He then showed me what the stain would look like on a sanded portion of the floor. When I commented it was light for what we wanted, he ensured that with three stains and a top coat it would be darker/richer. So, we went forth with his suggestion, as I thought he was the expert. That day, they finished the sealer, and one coat of stain. Thursday, again four hours late, and Isabella spoke with my husband saying they would be done today. We inquired how this was possible, when we still needed two coats of stain that require 12 hours each to dry, and a topcoat. Franko then tells us that the 3 coats include the sealer coat, which was not what was promised initially, and that the top coat is put right on top of second layer of stain, which I still don't know if that happened. Also, when we inquired why it was not darker or richer than the day before as promised, Franko stated what you see is what you get, it will not be much darker than what it initially looked like on the floor, again very different from his original answer. Shoe molding was placed, and house was locked up. Due to feelings that the company was not trustworthy, we opted not to pay at the end of the staining, as we felt the job was not complete. We still needed to review for errors or problems, and they had agreed in contract to move furniture back, although it seemed quite clear they did not plan on honoring this. To be quite honest, we just wanted to be done with the company, so we did not argue about moving the furniture, as we had no plans to pay for it. Franko said he was supposed to collect half of the cost of the job at the beginning, but he forgot. I told him this was not our fault, and if he was there on time that morning, he might have been paid but at this point, we would pay them once we had reviewed the house the following day. On Friday, we went to the house, everything looked good enough but nothing like what we expected. We were not in love with our floors, but they were an improvement from our previous carpet. We contacted Isabella that afternoon to meet for the cashier's check. She came to meet us, and told us that she thought they would get paid for part of the furniture moving since they helped at the beginning, my husband told her that would not be happening. Later in the day, she called and said that our check was written incorrectly. When I inquired why, she said that she forgot to add the cost for the wood transitions from the original contract, to which I responded this was a horrible experience, and we would not be paying anything else. This job was disappointing but also an inconvenience, because of lack of professionalism, a job that was quoted as a three-day job, put us out of our house for a week, which could have been a significant cost if we did not have relatives to stay with. In summary, this small business lacks professionalism and customer service, and in general are not honest or trustworthy. Heed the warning, look elsewhere! read more

We hired Leone to sand and finish the floors in our new home recently. The house was built in the early 1900's and some of the floors had been painted over so it was impossible to tell the condition. Let me first start by explaining the owner is the Jerkoff not his crew. The crew guys were fast,polite, and very good at what they do. The owner is a snake in the grass and I wish nothing but bad luck for him, the estimate was upped 600 dollars day of install, asked for more money after the installation.
